She is so underrated. She paved the path for future dance music, she made records in popularity and she had such an amazing and versatile voice that should be recognized as one of the best vocalist ever. I love all of her music from Wasserman to To Paris With Love.
I agree, Donna was definitely underrated very much like La Lupe, Queen of Latin soul before her, both were Icons and both were legends in their musical genres and divas in their own right. R.I.P to the Queens🎼🎶🎤🌹👑👑💖
WOW this has to be the best video I’ve seen. Donna Summer is underrated and truly talented. She’s has also inspired TLC and Beyoncé. Gone too soon...a Queen 💕💕💕

She’s one of the few backup singers who somehow found the way to fame, but ended up choosing to be behind the scenes, as a backup singer again. She’s a jazz queen now, but started off as a classically trained opera singer. She chose the way of R&B, but many people say that if she’d followed the opera highway, she would’ve been one of the most amazing, talented and famous opera singers of our time. She’s amazing, and I absolutely love her.
Preston Calhoun period, but it’s head voice, something that can be healthily done :) it’s a connected register, while whistles are a disconnected register, basically controlled squeaks. Therefor, it’s even more impressive, as the G6 she hits is kinda whistle note territory :)
It was a double album so she really just moved a million but in those days you didn’t have many formats in music. For her, it was LPs and 8 tracks. The inclusion of CDs and cassette tapes in the early 80s led to a big sales explosion in which albums such as Whitney Houston’s debut took great advantage of.
I've been noticing people in Gen Z have been showing alot of respect for the Disco era lately. It's really awesome. Also with Dua Lipa using Disco inspired beats. ♥️

Nicely done. I always enjoy your videos. The impact of "I Feel Love," however, was enormous. That is arguably her and Moroder's masterpiece and the granddaddy (along with Kraftwerk) of all techno and electronic music. Fast forward to 2020 & I still rank Donna as one of the top 3 most influential female artists on my musical tastes along with Stevie Nicks & Pat Benatar.
What most people dont know is that she had to stop performing 'Love to Love you Baby' for a while because a riot broke out whilst playing in Italy, to the point that she was in a trailer and crowds of men were rocking it back and forth.
Donna’s US top ten pop hits (1976-89): Love to Love You Baby (#2) I Feel Love (#6) Last Dance (#3) MacArthur Park (#1) Heaven Knows (#4) Hot Stuff (#1) Bad Girls (#1) Enough is Enough (No More Tears) (#1) Dim All the Lights (#2) On the Radio (#5) The Wanderer (#3) Love’s in Control (Finger on the Trigger) (#10) She Works Hard for the Money (#3) This Time I Know It’s for Real (#7) Just in case people get confused by how many top ten hits she had here lol

Even the wanderer from 1980.
I was 14 when I first heard "Love to Love You Baby" & instantly loved it...not so much for the overt sensuality but because it was just so different from anything I had ever heard. I enjoyed each hit that followed during the next 3 years but when I heard "Hot Stuff" it sealed the deal. It was so rare to hear a lady rock that hard! Fast forward to 2020 & I still rank Donna as one of the top 3 most influential female artists on my musical tastes along with Stevie Nicks & Pat Benatar.
Forever missed and FOREVER A LEGEND!
What most people dont know is that she had to stop performing 'Love to Love you Baby' for a while because a riot broke out whilst playing in Italy, to the point that she was in a trailer and crowds of men were rocking it back and forth.
So different than her claiming she couldn’t do it cause it didn’t fit with her religious beliefs.
She's my favorite singer along with kylie minogue
FINALLY PEOPLE ARE ACKNOWLEDGING DONNA SUMMER!!
doctor: “you have 12 minutes and 56 seconds left to live”
me:

Idk pretty depressing 12 min and 56 seconds, I'd rather not listen to a dude with a monotone voice for my last few moments on earth. Imo

Thank you for this. I love Donna Summer.
Yess I have loved Donna Summer ever since my Dad introduced me to her music when I was 12.
Thanks for doing a video on her she was so talented and is overlooked disco singer who deserves more.
My all time FAVE.
Underappreciated but made a huge impact in music without it there is nothing without it.
I think that she’s an underrated artist with an incredible and unique range!
I danced on American Bandstand when she was the only Guest Host Dick Clark ever has. Such a gracious, fun lady. There will never be another...........
Ive always loved her she has always been one of my favorites and she deserves more credit.
I feel a lot of people sleep on her post disco material that she done in the 80s, but imo “this time I know it’s for real” and a bunch of tracks on Swhftm deserves much more attention
She’s Magic 😍😍
If I could be an artist, it would be Donna Summer. My debut concept would be Donna Summer inspired. She just oozes glamour but hedonism. Rihanna gives me the same vibe for some reason. Ugh I stan.
This video was really well done. Thanks for shining light on an artist that often gets overlooked.
Donna summer in words:its never the last dance I will always love to love you baby🌹🌹🌹
