This car gets a lot of crap from it's looks which I don't understand because from where I'm sitting I think it looks absolutely stunning. Really I think it's the best looking coupe out there
It’s the grill. It’s empirically the ugliest 4 square feet of all time. While I wasn’t there, I can tell you with the utmost confidence the Donner Party took better looking dumps.
Bought an used RC300h coupe couple of weeks ago. Great ride, very comfortable and silent, and the interior quality is great. Yeah it may not be the quickest coupe, but who cares. The only thing is infotainment, you really need to get used to this touchpad, but everything else I found no problem. It's a great daily luxurious cruiser, and I love it.
I've had my Is300H 2014, F-sport with the premium package (cooled seats etc) for about 2.5 years now and i am still in love with it. i can feel "sporty" when needed and drive around like a proper king all day. And the lexus dealership gave me the best experience ever.
There's one of these at my workplace in red. It's a stunning car. And it's impressive that someone picked one of these over a german. Got to respect someone that doesn't follow the norms into conforming to the german cars.
german cars are overrated and super unreliable, the problem for the rich to buy a bmw is not that it has high maintainence but its that it cost a lot of time for them to sit around in a wasted car that wont run, most rich people buy lexus
so many haters lol, it's a hybrid. if you want speed get the petrol. all coupes have shitty back seats, lol how often does anyone carry a massive bottle in their MAP pockets. interior is def not cheap. in fact many people praised lexus for their strides in quality interiors. apparently if it's not German than its shitty. coming from a bmw fan btw.
Nick Karipidis yes Lexus is number 1 on the reliability list of all vehicles, this doesn't mean they are better than the German cars, the Lexus NX is plagued with issues, and they are no different from the high price brackets when it's time for repairs, I personally just think Lexus could've done much better with their exterior looks, the Germans have far better tastes on the menu, and yes BMW had reliability issues from 2002 up until 2007 anything from 2008 to 2016 has improved they are at number 11on the consumer reports list above Nissan, Volkswagen, Porsche,Cadillac, so yes the Germans are closing in on reliability, the government and Safety environmental rules force the Germans into using plastics on their cars, and even with plastics the Lexus still can't perform like a Mercedes or a BMW.
Unfortunately, coming from someone who worked for lexus, you are right up until the new 2016 models and up. After that, even their stitching on their steering wheels and seats (even more so for the F-Sport) starts fraying and coming apart, and that was noticed when the 2016 models were coming back for their first (1month) service checkup.
Chris Chan Lexus lost a whole lot of customers to BMW and benz, this is true because I used to drive Lexus, but after seeing these new front grills, I had to go BMW ..
I don’t ski, I don’t generally walk around with huge water bottles, and I don’t plan on sitting in the back seat much ( those days are over) but this is a gorgeous car in and out.
I'm now finally able to buy this car and others like the BMW 4 series. After many hours researching the internet I found that all BMW's have many problems (even the newer ones) that I would rather not face. This car, which is a Toyota is just a better buy.
For those who are bashing the car please look deeper into the options for this car. First off the RC 200 is the lowest grade of the vehicle. Not a lot of horsepower, small engine and very little torque. The step up from that is the RC 350. Still mostly the same as the 200 but has more horsepower. Now the 350 Fsport. This grade level changes the appearance of this car and comes with a v6 with 305 horsepower. Step up from up from that you have the RCF. Badass car with lots of horsepower and stunning to look at.
I own one, and they are a superb car. I had a BMW driver come up to me the other day when parked in a supermarket car park, and he said it was the best looking Lexus he had seen. Also Lexus service are the best and will always do their utmost to help customers.
A beautiful car that is daring in design, sophisticated ride, excellent reliability, and appeals to a younger-ish crowd that is not over the hill like the Mercedes buyers.
I own a 300h and I've owned most major brands, Lexus is so reliable and a joy to drive and please remember what country we live in the speed limits and speed bumps .I feel so sorry for petrol and diesel car owners talking and comparing old technology with new hybrids it's a amusement for me.
I have this and a Porsche and I must say the touch a/c controls are really good in the lexus. Just slide the set the temp to anything you need. In Porsche it’s touch screen arrows that needs much clicks to reach the desired temp. Matt was wrong about the lexus a/c touch controls these are be best.
We are a Lexus family and have owned all the models except for the coupe SC, soarer, and NX. Both my parents have one and I drive one. However, even though we are Lexus loyalists, Lexus do not put any notable time and money in R&D the hybrid technology in the cars seems archaic now particularly with much much better options available and the fact some petrol engines are far more Eco to drive and for the environment. I really do wish Lexus up their game and reclaim their place as an alternative-luxury brand. I totally agree with Matt about the fact Lexus dealerships are nice to visit and are very friendly. But at point of sale, they are no different to any other dealership who is after your business.
I never really understood the plastic tray thing in the middle back seat. If Lexus didn't intend for people to use it as a seat, why not include a foldout armrest instead? That said though, I still think it's a great looking car overall.
Why do people always criticize Lexus for not making hard core, hard charging sports cars??? They have NEVER intended their cars to be sports cars. They are for people that want "sporty" cars that are built like tanks, never give you trouble and are more reliable than anything else on the road. That is like criticizing a vette for bad gas mileage and a harsh ride.
I'm seriously wondering about buying one of these. I couldn't agree more about the rear bumper treatment, and I too would ask, "why?" Have to say I would prefer something a bit quicker and I guess the turbo version might well be the one to buy, albeit they are very, very few and far between.
that color is a stunner... perfect car, just the fact there is a fan in the lamps ... thats quality genuine quality. the pillars are big because it probably is overbuilt so it will save your life in a crash... so the only thing i cant really like the 0-60 time 9 sec is really bad for a sporty looking car. A diesel with some torque would help on that also...
When you said Lexus people are as nice as nurses and people on MDMA i had a mouthful of beer and nearly spat it out right at my screen! But it is true about their friendly and professional dealership service. Why did they not stick an arm rest in back for cup holders even?
Honestly I just noticed, after watching tons of your videos. That your intro is just like how Steve Irwin does his show back in the day. 'This is a Siberian Tiger' with your hand pointing at the car in your case. Any relations?
Hahaha :D Oh Matt, I was wondering what you were doing with the paper at the beginning of the the video but that was brilliant. Thank you. Definitely not what I was expecting.
The way I see it, the interior of the Lexus RC is perhaps one of the most beautiful interiors throughout modern vehicles today. And that's coming from a new GTR owner! By the way, people on MDMA aren't nicer then people on PCP and/or potheads! Potheads are the original "good Samaritans"... lol
I own a Lexus and I'm totally satisfied of every feature in its interior and exterior. But I must admit that the plastic inserted between the rear seats is disappointing. I want to know how much legs room and head space you have in a McLaren when sitting in the back? Secondly it's a hybrid sport car not a petrol sport car. if you want a brutal wild acceleration then find another car. Finally if Matt's review is that critical what about Autogefühl Thomas who is German and won't hesitate to mention any mistake in the car.
Mat straight went to the point I always had in mind about Lexus in general. The car bodies remind me of space shuttles or the Holywood fictional cars! Why so much exaggeration in design? To prove it's a premium brand?
This car gets a lot of crap from it's looks which I don't understand because from where I'm sitting I think it looks absolutely stunning. Really I think it's the best looking coupe out there
Totally agree, amazing Japanese car
Well I just purchase one like this and it suits me. Quiet, reliable, economical, beautiful looks and rare, so stands out. I love quirky!
It’s the grill. It’s empirically the ugliest 4 square feet of all time.
While I wasn’t there, I can tell you with the utmost confidence the Donner Party took better looking dumps.
It's beautiful, people have crappy taste, only things I'd change are the wheels
@@sportbikejesusI think certain BMWs have out-uglied the grille by a considerable margin
Matt is by far the most charismatic car journalist on youtube. Most people doesn't seem to show much of a personality......
....and does it without insults even... unlike the “Orang-utan” JC. What’s up with that... 🤣
Throttle house is good and has lots personality, but yeah matt is epic

"Lexus customer service are some of the nicest people on earth along with Nurses and People on MDMA" 😂😂😂😂😂

I guess nowadays everybody knows that you embarrass yourself driving a german car 🤣
Mercs, Audis and BMs are ones you lease. A Lexus is one you'll buy and own. #Reliability
Exactly!!
THE LEXUS RC IS A REALLY BEAUTIFUL LOOKING COUPE
Yessir!
so many haters lol, it's a hybrid. if you want speed get the petrol. all coupes have shitty back seats, lol how often does anyone carry a massive bottle in their MAP pockets. interior is def not cheap. in fact many people praised lexus for their strides in quality interiors. apparently if it's not German than its shitty. coming from a bmw fan btw.
Agreed so many 'experts' just looking what's on paper. I'm not to judge, I've never driven it, but I do know how high quality Lexus interiors are!
You should check North America reliability research. 1.Toyota-Lexus 2.Audi 3.Mazda and then chaos

With BMW it gets worse with new ones, old ones were ok but new ones ohh man stay away! They break all the time!! 😢
those rims remind me of the SC430... that was elegance at the next level. You can say anything you want about the car, it's a gem.

I feel like this car needs the 3.5 hybrid as well, love this though the new facelift looks sick

Gorgeous Lexus inside and out.
Loved the MDMA reference.
2:46 The door closing sounds like a 10 years vw...
You mean like a vw from 2006?? No way maybe like a kia or Hyundai lol
Well at least they don't cheat
They've got a good sound to em, makes them sound sturdy.
do you know it is video though mic is catching other noises as well
2006 VWs had a very good sound to the door closing. So...

The only thing I don't like about the design are those plastic bits one the rear bumper, would still prefer it over an M4 or C coupe.
That dashboard looks like it was designed in the 80's. Great review Mat.
Interior is lovely except for that central button cluster that looks like it came straight out of a Corsa
Is it driftable??
What is the difference between CVT and normal Gearbox ?
its good to see that they are using manual handbrake
Would you go skiing in a rear drive low slung coupe? Maybe carry ling wood planks?
The Radio Controller in the glove box was a clever easter egg.
Which rivals are sporty?
Great job mr. Watson!
that MDMA comment was spot on
How strange that it doesn't have a rear armrest, especially considering its only a 4 seater!
Are you daft? It's a 2+2 coupe which means 4 seats? 4 seater?...
I hope we see a group test with RC, 4 series and C coupe.

Important point = Lexus will
Not break down like BMW or Audi!!! That is the point why I like this car!! They are built like tank!!
Temp control: easy to use in everyday life
foot operated brake is good. when the electronic thingy majig e-brake start to limp on the Germans, that will still work
It's like they tried to re-invent the wheel, and came up with a square. LMAO!!!
Can u do c43 coupe? I do very wanna see that car......
Ok, better performance from its rivals but jump from a 4 series straight in a lexus and you feel the quality
Kinda looks like a refreshed LFA
Lmao good for storing business cards in the trunk. This guy cracks me up
Looks wayyyyy better then the boat bland 4 series bmw oil puddle
Make a review of the Lexus LC please.
ONLY reason...and I mean the ONLY reason I am considering this car over the 4 series is RELIABILITY. Thats it. And thats a big factor.
Funnily enough this takes a lot of things from my laguna GT coupe, Only problem i have with my car is i average 20MPG
Comparing a hybrid to normal coupes in its class?
Yeah. Lexus is proposing hybrids instead of Diesels. The german equivalent of this 300h would be something like a 420d.
Can you review The Jaguar XJ?
This might be an odd off-topic question, but does anyone know the exact suitcase featured in the video? The blue and pink one

I would choose the BMW 4 Series Coupe
It’s not far of from the Germans. But I will pick this over germans cos of reliability
Hi Mat....please do a review of the Rolls Royce Wraith and Ferrari TDF
Lexus, please send your designers on a nice refreshing holiday. All the Lexus cars have same looking front end! Damna Especially that gawdy grille!
all bout that rc f
Have they learned how to do economical diesel ?

Is the 2017 Q60S red sport 400 review coming soon??
Do some more group tests please!
looks awesome
Does he's not have a sunroof?
OMG! It's damning pretty.
You should try the 3.5 V6 version.
We don’t get that in the U.K.
you must have a tv show mat!
much better than J.C.
