This car gets a lot of crap from it's looks which I don't understand because from where I'm sitting I think it looks absolutely stunning. Really I think it's the best looking coupe out there

Bought an used RC300h coupe couple of weeks ago. Great ride, very comfortable and silent, and the interior quality is great. Yeah it may not be the quickest coupe, but who cares. The only thing is infotainment, you really need to get used to this touchpad, but everything else I found no problem. It's a great daily luxurious cruiser, and I love it.
Mercs, Audis and BMs are ones you lease. A Lexus is one you'll buy and own. #Reliability

There's one of these at my workplace in red. It's a stunning car. And it's impressive that someone picked one of these over a german. Got to respect someone that doesn't follow the norms into conforming to the german cars.

german cars are overrated and super unreliable, the problem for the rich to buy a bmw is not that it has high maintainence but its that it cost a lot of time for them to sit around in a wasted car that wont run, most rich people buy lexus

so many haters lol, it's a hybrid. if you want speed get the petrol. all coupes have shitty back seats, lol how often does anyone carry a massive bottle in their MAP pockets. interior is def not cheap. in fact many people praised lexus for their strides in quality interiors. apparently if it's not German than its shitty. coming from a bmw fan btw.
Agreed so many 'experts' just looking what's on paper. I'm not to judge, I've never driven it, but I do know how high quality Lexus interiors are!
You should check North America reliability research. 1.Toyota-Lexus 2.Audi 3.Mazda and then chaos
Nick Karipidis yes Lexus is number 1 on the reliability list of all vehicles, this doesn't mean they are better than the German cars, the Lexus NX is plagued with issues, and they are no different from the high price brackets when it's time for repairs, I personally just think Lexus could've done much better with their exterior looks, the Germans have far better tastes on the menu, and yes BMW had reliability issues from 2002 up until 2007 anything from 2008 to 2016 has improved they are at number 11on the consumer reports list above Nissan, Volkswagen, Porsche,Cadillac, so yes the Germans are closing in on reliability, the government and Safety environmental rules force the Germans into using plastics on their cars, and even with plastics the Lexus still can't perform like a Mercedes or a BMW.
Unfortunately, coming from someone who worked for lexus, you are right up until the new 2016 models and up. After that, even their stitching on their steering wheels and seats (even more so for the F-Sport) starts fraying and coming apart, and that was noticed when the 2016 models were coming back for their first (1month) service checkup.

I've had my Is300H 2014, F-sport with the premium package (cooled seats etc) for about 2.5 years now and i am still in love with it. i can feel "sporty" when needed and drive around like a proper king all day.
And the lexus dealership gave me the best experience ever.
I bet its had 0 problems too

I'm now finally able to buy this car and others like the BMW 4 series. After many hours researching the internet I found that all BMW's have many problems (even the newer ones) that I would rather not face.
This car, which is a Toyota is just a better buy.
With BMW it gets worse with new ones, old ones were ok but new ones ohh man stay away! They break all the time!! 😢
For those who are bashing the car please look deeper into the options for this car. First off the RC 200 is the lowest grade of the vehicle. Not a lot of horsepower, small engine and very little torque. The step up from that is the RC 350. Still mostly the same as the 200 but has more horsepower. Now the 350 Fsport. This grade level changes the appearance of this car and comes with a v6 with 305 horsepower.
Step up from up from that you have the RCF. Badass car with lots of horsepower and stunning to look at.

I don’t ski, I don’t generally walk around with huge water bottles, and I don’t plan on sitting in the back seat much ( those days are over) but this is a gorgeous car in and out.

I own one, and they are a superb car. I had a BMW driver come up to me the other day when parked in a supermarket car park, and he said it was the best looking Lexus he had seen. Also Lexus service are the best and will always do their utmost to help customers.

I never really understood the plastic tray thing in the middle back seat. If Lexus didn't intend for people to use it as a seat, why not include a foldout armrest instead?
That said though, I still think it's a great looking car overall.
A beautiful car that is daring in design, sophisticated ride, excellent reliability, and appeals to a younger-ish crowd that is not over the hill like the Mercedes buyers.
Why do people always criticize Lexus for not making hard core, hard charging sports cars???
They have NEVER intended their cars to be sports cars. They are for people that want "sporty" cars that are built like tanks, never give you trouble and are more reliable than anything else on the road.
That is like criticizing a vette for bad gas mileage and a harsh ride.
We are a Lexus family and have owned all the models except for the coupe SC, soarer, and NX. Both my parents have one and I drive one. However, even though we are Lexus loyalists, Lexus do not put any notable time and money in R&D the hybrid technology in the cars seems archaic now particularly with much much better options available and the fact some petrol engines are far more Eco to drive and for the environment. I really do wish Lexus up their game and reclaim their place as an alternative-luxury brand. I totally agree with Matt about the fact Lexus dealerships are nice to visit and are very friendly. But at point of sale, they are no different to any other dealership who is after your business.
Are Lexus reliable?
I have this and a Porsche and I must say the touch a/c controls are really good in the lexus. Just slide the set the temp to anything you need. In Porsche it’s touch screen arrows that needs much clicks to reach the desired temp. Matt was wrong about the lexus a/c touch controls these are be best.
I own a 300h and I've owned most major brands, Lexus is so reliable and a joy to drive and please remember what country we live in the speed limits and speed bumps .I feel so sorry for petrol and diesel car owners talking and comparing old technology with new hybrids it's a amusement for me.

I'm seriously wondering about buying one of these. I couldn't agree more about the rear bumper treatment, and I too would ask, "why?" Have to say I would prefer something a bit quicker and I guess the turbo version might well be the one to buy, albeit they are very, very few and far between.

I went into a Lexus dealer for parts and they kinda laughed and made it clear I should go to Toyota, that anything there would be WAY too expensive to justify.

that color is a stunner... perfect car, just the fact there is a fan in the lamps ... thats quality genuine quality. the pillars are big because it probably is overbuilt so it will save your life in a crash... so the only thing i cant really like the 0-60 time 9 sec is really bad for a sporty looking car. A diesel with some torque would help on that also...

I own a Lexus and I'm totally satisfied of every feature in its interior and exterior. But I must admit that the plastic inserted between the rear seats is disappointing. I want to know how much legs room and head space you have in a McLaren when sitting in the back? Secondly it's a hybrid sport car not a petrol sport car. if you want a brutal wild acceleration then find another car.
Finally if Matt's review is that critical what about Autogefühl Thomas who is German and won't hesitate to mention any mistake in the car.

+Peedy G try watching my Lexus RX vs Merc GLE vs BMW X5 review. Not German biased at all. Just call it as I see it. And the Germans are kinda pretty good at cars.
The only thing I don't like about the design are those plastic bits one the rear bumper, would still prefer it over an M4 or C coupe.

Jesus, this car sounds good to me! Especially when compared to a Porsche 911 with bors scoring issues and IMS problems. Newsflash! You're not buying this car to shuttle around your 2 smelly mates in the backseat! They wouldn't even fit inside a 911 backseat.
The way I see it, the interior of the Lexus RC is perhaps one of the most beautiful interiors throughout modern vehicles today. And that's coming from a new GTR owner! By the way, people on MDMA aren't nicer then people on PCP and/or potheads! Potheads are the original "good Samaritans"... lol

ONLY reason...and I mean the ONLY reason I am considering this car over the 4 series is RELIABILITY. Thats it. And thats a big factor.
I'm a bit cool of the car tbh, it's a competing space and this falls short.
But i have a bigger gripe, what is with the current trend of putting electric motors on things, no not the hybrid motor, but electric boot hatches, and in this case electric (entry) seats.
As an owner if a Coupe, them slow arse seats would wear thin by the time let the first rear passenger out!
Cool idea on paper, sadly it's where it should of stayed. Along with e-tailgates, fine unless it's raining.
the rc "frankinstein" is a big mistake from lexus, imo with all the r&d that went into the new IS model making it into a coupe would have been great-easier then a convertible version with all of them with the F engine. then create from ground up a proper coupe

I would not take my conclusion from just one car reviewer. If I was a marketer for Lexus, I would hire a Focus Group that consist of a mix of luxury car enthusiasts, first time buyers of luxury cars and general public, then compare their analysis and opinions of the car.
