The battle of Nasiriyah was unusual in that there were no American MIAs. Everyone was recovered, both those at the hospital and the crew of a missing Abrams that went into the Euphrates, plus the remaining live POWs who had been taken to Samara. The Marines who located the bodies at Nasiriyah Hospital, and the Rangers who retrieved them are absolute heroes. Glad you covered this.

Hookstead, this is the part where you get it wrong, because - and don't take offense at this, the significance has to be explained to you - you were never a soldier.
I've been waiting for a long time for this story to start being told in the popular media because I want them to get it right. You're already off in the weeds with the sensationalized title.
The actions on the objective of B Co.1/75 is NOT ABOUT the horror. It's not about the sight, the smells, the memories that stay with you or the memories you block out or choose to forget. It's not about SSG Fader standing up the Col.
The soldier's interest here is that this is a soldier's story about duty, sacrifice and nobility. This is a story about living the Ranger Creed, the Ranger Creed that all soldiers, not just Rangers learn at Basic/OSUT, Infantryman and all others alike. Living the awful parts of the Creed at it's most unglamorous, it's unsexiest. Everyone thinks being a Ranger is all about running around, kicking down doors and shooting terrorists in the face, but being a Ranger is also about not for a moment hesitating, complaining and shirking, but swallowing hard and just doing what has to be done when something like this lands in your lap.
"Never shall I leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy.? These comrades were not fellow Rangers. The decaying, decomposing, disintegrating bodies of the men and women of that transpo company were regular soldiers. The charred remains of EXTORTION 17 and TURBINE 33 weren't even Army. But as fellow Americans who took the Oath, they WERE comrades and Rangers DO NOT leave fallen comrades in the field, dead or alive, buried or scattered, no matter their condition.
All soldiers learn and recite the Ranger Creed at some point in their training and it is a part of our ethos. The Rangers rightfully embody and live that ethos every day.
The story of the Jessica Lynch rescue is about the nobility of soldierhood in what the Rangers did that night DESPITE the horror, not the horror the things they did. If you're going to tell the story, get it right, Hookstead.
(I feel strongly about this because I've believed for a while that if we get this right, this will eventually become a story that is told to everyone as a part of the lore and legend in teaching the ethos of what it is to serve in the brotherhood of arms of the United States Army.)

The people in her convoy that were killed were buried. I can’t imagine how grotesque it is, it’s not like digging up a intact, normal body. It would be like goop and fiber like muscle. The army was a joke for doing what they did, she shouldn’t have been in that convoy, non of them should’ve. She was a 92Y Supply Clerk. Her MOS basically consisted of operating a filing cabinet and yet she was put in that convoy as a PFC too. Her weapon wasn’t fired once. It’s not her fault; it’s the people that sent her there. It shouldn’t have ever happened, absolute shit show of leadership.

Dude, you have no clue what you are talking about. This happened during the invasion kid. I was there in an infantry unit, we were leading the charge into Baghdad, but we only spearhead the advance. The support elements like her unit have to follow in after the combat elements. They are the VAST MAJORITY of the military forces actually in the ground. Fuel, ammo, food, supplies, etc. they still have to have weapons, training and defend themselves on the way in. They weren’t out there fuckin tracking down bad guys. They were just unlucky and got ambushed.
