      Yes DEX saved my night on my S24U it is helpful there are times where there are apps that are not available in a smart TV that is on the phone, which DEX happens to “unlock”. At the end of the day both phones take awesome pictures, but for some DEX will be a “trick under the sleeve” show off kind of moment… sorry Apple, I’ll stay on my 13 Pro for a while… maybe iPhone 18 😂. There’s also LDAC sound, WiFi 7, faster 5G, S-Pen… basically way more value than just an Apple with even the next iPhone 16 PM, I get a fruit salad with Samsung S24U… Apple needs to catch up still… even if “benchmarks” says otherwise. I got the 13 Pro was for the cameras but I’m glad I switched too…

    New subscriber. I think you're one of the best reviewers on RUclips. I like that you take a fact-based, balanced approach, and aren't afraid to give each phone credit when they are best in a particular category. You seem very objective and fair, while still conveying relevant information that might be important to someone, and criticizing when it is needed. I'm stuck in the Apple ecosystem and am not a techie, but I do wish Apple would incorporate some of the Android features that you mention. Competition is good, so hopefully both companies continue to improve.

      James, thank you so much for the compliment! Honestly... After spending some time with my family yesterday I was in the studio from about 7PM to this morning at 6:30AM. So hearing this compliment makes all that hard work worthwhile, thank you!
      And I totally understand where you're coming from, I was there myself and it's bloody hard to leave 😅 Or not even leave, but mix the Apple ecosystem with Android devices. There are workarounds and lots of compromises involved, so I don't ever believe anyone who says it's easy, or that it doesn't matter. Especially when your family and friends are also on the ecosystem. You couldn't have said it better, competition is definitely good!

    One thing that I don't think you mentioned is how the two phones handle heat. It's winter here in the Northwest US and even now my 15 Pro Max would heat up and dim the screen while driving, using navigation, charging, and listening to music.
    My S24 Ultra had no problem with the heat, and never dimmed the screen. I would imagine the separation will even be greater during the summer months.

    This is very comprehensive analysis of using both phones. To be honest, I just grew old of the Apple ecosystem and want the versatility of Android/Windows, especially gaming. From the Note 10 daily driver I jumped to IPhone 11 up to the iPhone 14plus. I think the s24 Ultra is the definitive Samsung device that can rival (even surpass some features) the iPhone IMHO.

    • @AlexGTech
      @AlexGTech  9 месяцев назад

      @@sidpablothat’s a fairy tale at this point. I’ve seen android be more stabile than iOS of late. My iPhone 13 always had issues with lags and videos refreshing all the time and safari not able to load websites properly. From year one and its two years now and cell signal is so much worse than my s23 ultra. Androids at least flagships never lose signal like iPhone we were at this remote island in the middle of nyc with no service and the s23 ultra had service even a whole phone call and everyone else didn’t have service were so surprised they all had iPhone. iPhone also gets so hot it’s not funny. Idk I’ve heard this from others as well doesn’t seem like iPhone is stabile as it once was.

    I agree you seem to be the most balanced reviewers on RUclips you tell it like you see it and you try not to be partial to any brand. • @The.JZA.
    @The.JZA. 8 месяцев назад +1

    5:52 The S24 Ultra "5x" lens is 111mm focal length and the main lens is 24mm focal length so technically their "5x" is actually 4.625x (111/24=4.625mm) whereas the iPhone 15 Pro Max focal lengths are 24mm and 120mm so 120/24=5x. That's why the S24 Ultra seems like it has a wider FOV, because it isn't actually zoomed in 5x.

I’m a mum of 3 boys and not professional photographer, I would just like to take memorable photos of my family, I see how the iPhone takes a default of 24mp and Samsung 12mp. Are you able to take 24mp with Samsung aswell. I’m just wondering because I would like to print my photos into photo books and not loose quality. Also which phone is better for motion control photos?

      hi there! Yes, you can take 24MP (it's kinda hidden in the Expert RAW camera app) but also 50MP and 200MP which is crazy, but more importantly, if you are looking to print the photos, that 50MP and 200MP modes will be the ones to use. Samsung also has a very useful mode called 'Single Take' which captures 10 seconds of whatever you are pointing the camera app, then 'spits out 6 different outputs:
      - A highlight video, for instance if they were about to score a goal and you want just the bit where they kick the ball
      - Slow motion clip
      - Boomerang clip
      - Filtered pictures (like Instagram filters)
      - Collage
      - Cropped shot
      Honestly, for kids and pets, this is a godsend!

    I have S23 Ultra and iphone 15 Pro Max. Both phones are good and I use them in different way. S23 Ultra as daily youtube content watch, Web browsing etc. Iphone for banking, photos etc.
    Still thinking to upgrade to S24 Ultra and keep my iPhone beside. Samsung has a lot of good things but cannot understand when in example you show new feature Dual mode Video and it literally stutters. You say it is nice, then after your stutter video in the park it fades in ti your studio where video is so smooth... sorry but it is visible with bare eye. How come you can prise feature which is almost not usable...
    Sometimes, I have a feeling Samsung or android phones release some features before they are usable, but they release them because they can. The end user is just a tester.
    The iPhone approach is different. Maybe they don't release something in a few years, but once it is released, it is working as it should.
    So my feelings for S24 ultra are mixed. I want to upgrade, but there are things that are definitely not ready for end users.

    Both of them are intended for different audiences. I have always held the belief that the Ultra line from Samsung is geared towards a specific group of consumers who will utilize the phone as a top productivity device. I personally utilize the Spen almost daily at work, and I must say that once you have mastered its use, it's an excellent app. The voice recording feature now with summarization is particularly impressive, and the way it summarizes is quite startling...lol. In essence, my intent is to suggest that individuals should purchase mobile devices based on their actual needs for features. The S24 Ultra represents a significant advancement in productivity, while the iPhone seems to be a superior choice for media productivity.

      Right now I do think Samsung as a bit of work to do on photo/video but all seems software related. I can already see how much more detail and better image overall we are getting though. The iPhone for standard 4K video is still quite hard to beat for me, I have to say. But if you look at around 9:15 its a good example of how even in RAW MAX, the iPhone still produces quite a bit of noise in dark areas, in comparison with the S24 Ultra which kept the noise levels and didn't crush the details.

I am impressed with what the 24 ultra can do camera wise now, and as you featured. The iPhone Pro still needs A third party app do do what the Ultra 24 can do. Speaking of that do you have knowledge of a really good third-party app that would allow the iPhone 13 mini to tap into the extra camera settings? One last thing, I know this depends on the quality of ones printer and I'm assuming you have a good color printer for your work. Have you tried printing to see if the outstanding image on the 24 ultra converts to print better than the iPhone 15Plus? Have a great day Alex 💪😊👊

    The S24 Ultra is the first device I've owned where I've really concentrated on the camera system. My experience has been very frustrating. I've tried all the sensors and tried to eliminate the post processing as much as possible. I started noticing that one picture will be excellent and the next one will be garbage. Same lighting, same setting, often just taking a second picture of the same thing. This has me really scratching my head so I pulled out my ZFold5 to compare. My pictures with the ZFold5 are way better than my garbage pictures taken with this S24 Ultra. Again, I'm being careful to ensure that I'm using the same settings for any comparisons. All other things considered this device is great. I'm just not sure if I'm going to give up my ZFold5 for it. I might hold out and see what the ZFold6 brings to the table later this summer.

    The problem with apple is not about the cameras, they should be better than everyone else because the phone doesn't do much of anything else. I think people misunderstand the android platform. There's so much going on in the background, apps are constantly refreshing and updating. Location tracking, and the list goes on and on. This is why many android phones have a higher spec than apple, it's doing so much more. And that's not including what you're doing on the device. So it only makes sense that it's going to have some choppy things going on. Apple devices focuses on one thing at a time, this is why everything seems to run so well. The phone doesn't do much. It's not capable of running multiple apps at once. It's not a power user device by any means of the imagination. But apple has people stuck on the cameras and the ecosystem. Instead of how the device can help you in your life. Not just entertain you. Apple has done an outstanding job of brainwashing people. Apple, is a social media device. Android is a productivity device. Stay productive people!

    • @AlexGTech
      @AlexGTech  9 месяцев назад

      I have to agree with you on that power user comment. I think a few people will actually stretch the iPhone and use certain apps to really push it, but when it comes to getting real work done, it's hard to beat something that can literally be used as a computer.

      @@AlexGTech absolutely, I just believe that these phones are so expensive now and are giving the title of being "smart" but Apple is milking people of their hard earned money, and giving them very little in return. If I'm giving you my money, I want everything. Even if it's not perfect,or i never use all of the features, I paid for it, so I want all of it. You often hear people say that they don't need all of the features that android has, not understanding that these companies will be very happy to give you less for more money. If you don't need it, don't use it. But at least you know it's there if you do. If you don't want your smartphone to do anything, you always have that option to not use those features, but please don't encourage them to take it away from us lol, because they will and we'll be paying them for the same thing that a $200 smartphone can do. I don't hate apple products, I hate that Apple control's a product that I paid for, that no longer own. When you buy an iPhone, you have to ask yourself. Do i own my device, or am I renting it. It's too bad device this good has issues out of the box. Even if they fix display problem, I don't think camera software will get better with updates. Shutter lag alone made me sell my S23U. I used Samsung flagships only for 7 years, so I really couldn't deal with blurry pictures of moving subjects on every single device anymore. And that "we'll fix it with updates" Samsung strategy. They need to step up their game when it comes to camera software, competition (even for 2-3 times less money) is years ahead.

      I am starting to get worried about my battery! Will give it another week or so, maybe it needs more time to adjust. On a full day, both phones used pretty equally, at full brightness (no adaptive anything) the S24U did suffer more for me.

    I am a true Samsung knight with the s23 ultra and I'm waiting for the z fold 6 and I hope they follow in Honor Magic V2 porsche, One Plus Open, Xiaomi Mix fold 3 , and Huawei mate x5 footsteps and give it 110 % with the redesign and aspect ratio. Also the z fold 6 will definitely need 5x zoom because Huawei proved it can be done on a foldable. Also, I've had a star wars light saber s pen sound effect on my s23 ultra since day 1 haha hahaha! For me I haven't had ios in many many years because they have too many limitations and I was able to get imessage and great video on my s23 ultra with HDR 10 plus and there's androids like thr vivo x100 that have even better low light video than the 15 pro max does . Samsung, Google, Huawei, Xiaomi, Red Magic , Honor Magic , One Plus offer far more value than ios these days and its undeniable

    I currently have the iPhone 15 Pro Max and have been a Apple fan for years but I also have a S24 ultra sitting in its box and debating on switching, Not sure though cause I’m so locked into the ecosystem of Apple, how hard is the switch?

    • @timjones9128
      @timjones9128 7 месяцев назад

      Samsung also has its own ecosystem which covers more devices. I have Samsung everything including Samsung tvs which seamlessly syncs to my phone. That's one thing Apple does not have is its own tv. My advice...just switch. If you are not happy with iphone don't let its ecosystem keep you from switching.

  • @terrylafauci791

    The main reason I switched to iOS and got the 15 promax is because of the battery. I’ve only ever used android since 2009 and I’ve got to say I don’t have a single regret with switching. What good are all the features on android if you can’t use them without having to charge your phone three times a day? The S22 ultra Ruined Samsung for me, I could barely get four hours of screen on time out of that phone and it was disgusting. It was feature packed, but by noon, if I didn’t have a charger, I was out of luck.
    That’s not the case with my 15 Pro Max, I can get almost 2 full days out of this phone with the way I use it. I know some will think I’m crazy for basing my opinion solely around battery life, but without decent battery, what good is the phone?

  • @SuperZap01

    Good video! I have to be honest this is the first year where I don’t want any Apple products I’ve ditched them all down to my iPad and that’s my last item to go. Samsung has done a amazing job with there ecosystem and yes they have tweaking to do absolutely, but as a man of color S and Pixel phones make me look as I do in actual life while I look 8 shades darker. My profile picture was taken with a Note 10 straight point and shoot while with an iPhone I’m changing 80 different settings, looking for angles and lighting I’m way to old to sit there playing with settings.

      Wow! those Notes were amazing right!? I think the S23U and S24U will become legendary... I agree with you on skin tones on Pixel and Galaxy phones. Never used to be so consistent but I am finding even portraits to be better on Samsung in recent years. You just reminded me I need to sell my iPad Pro 😅 literally collecting dust most of the time

What i didnt like about the s24 ultra is that the colors on the screen don’t pop like the s23 which is confusing and the screen isn’t bright enough, thats why i got the iphone and honestly its super smooth and overall great!

      I think at that time it was being a little skewed, by my lens ND filter but also I believe this was before the update that allowed more vivid colours. In general outdoors the S24U can get way brighter.

    You guys lie so much. When the new iPhone 16 pro max comes out this fall 2024, then you'll will say; "This is why I switched to iPhone 16 pro max." Seems none of these reviews ever pick a phone and stick with and say which phone is crap and don't buy it. You guys always finish in a tie and never really pick a winner.
