In my mid-late 20s I was always surprised how people liked and used the Note series, it being a giant phone, moreover uses of the S-Pen seemed forced to me. Now, being in my mid 30s, I clearly understand the need of pulling something out and quickly writing down a business idea, work related tasks and overall life stuff. I'm honestly really looking forward to the S24U to upgrade from my S21. As for your videos, man, I honestly really look forward to each and every one. Some I have rewatched many times. Keep doing what you're doing.

I don't mind iphone being phone of the year. What I do mind is iphone being constantly called camera phone of the year by Yanks even though it *constantly* loses in blind camera comparisons, including the 15 pro.
It's the little multitasking features for me on the Samsung, like going into the edge panel and pulling out a calculator in pop up view while in my banking app, or dragging down on a live notification to reply to a quick message in pop up view and carry on with what I was doing. I am tempted by apple but have always been a note guy. Currently on the Z fold 5 can't wait for the S24U!
Absolutely! I never had the Note but really enjoyed what Samsung have been doing recently, so many features that I don't even use but every now and then I find myself feeling really pleased with the fact that the feature is there. It's the exact opposite of my experience on the iPhone which could be so much better if Apple just stopped drip feeding customers. Oh well, excited for S24 Ultra too and still loving the fold as well, Samsung really nailed it this year...

I've been using Samsung Notes since back when people rediculed its size. The S23 Ultra is an Amazing device. I'll be trading it in for the S24 in a few weeks.

For now, I would not go back to the iPhone. I enjoy the customization on my S23U so much. The iPhone would bore me if I switched back. I still somehow find the iPhone limiting. There's just more freedom with android. I also love my Tab S8U. I used to get a new iPad every year, but I have been using my Tab S8U for a couple of years now and still love it.
I bought the 23u mid way through 2023 because of a crazy promo and got it for $200. Honestly, I was coming into it blind being my first note device ever and it has blew me away coming into 2024 very happy.

Try to get a trade in deal or promo from your carrier. You could even pay it off monthly so it's not all at once payment. I got my s23U for $200 usd but I do understand if that is even still to expensive for a device.

I absolutely agree with you, I've been lucky enough to own the Samsung S 23 ultra for the last seven months, like you I'm an Apple user too... I think this was truly the first Android that I really appreciated more than an iPhone almost below all points of view, unfortunately the camera, despite the space zoom and the excellent quality of the videos, never really convinced me when it came to point-and-shoot photos... Too much saturation and artificial sharpness, I was forced to often shoot in Pro mode, the usefulness of seizing the moment with a smartphone was somewhat lost... In the end I resold it for a sum not much lower than what I spent to buy it, and I returned to Apple, with IPhone 15 Pro Max, with which I am obviously satisfied, I consider it a great device... Although, having tried the S23 Ultra, I am perfectly aware that in addition to Apple, there are probably even better smartphones from some points of view... But evidently, for me it wasn't still time to change definitively... Congratulations for your work, you are really competent and honest, and it is a pleasure to watch and listen to your videos...😊👋

Well Alex, I bought the 23 ultra because I wanted to get away from ios wich I think, now in 2023 is behind android. I was almost ready to give up on s23 ultra because I couldn't find a good smart watch. But now I found galaxy watch 5 pro, it has a really good battery life wich is important to me. Thank you for a great 2023, really nice videos, I wish you a great 2024. PS. Can't wait for the s24 ultra😊

Just got an S23 ultra 256 yesterday coming from 10 years of every single iPhone. The volume buttons being on the other side is killing me. Using it with no screen protector or case for a few days

android video quality is FAR superior when using the motioncam app, it lets you shoot literal raw video, which takes up a bit more storage but the detail you get is completely insane, you can check some comparisons people have made where it completely destroys prores on the iphone
A long time iPhone torn between the S23 Ultra (on a different sim) and a Pixel 8 Pro. Have been playing with Android and must be honest that trying to decide which Android device to go with and leave the Apple ecosystem.
The s23 is a mini computer in you're hands, i can't say that about any other phones out there. I have been a Galaxy user for years and that's three first time i said to myself that Samsung nailed it this time. Snapdragon 8gen 2 is a beast and the battery life is also great which surprised me honestly. I want expecting Samsung to ever release a flagship phone with such great battery life
Hi! Galaxy S23 ultra is yes, a powerful phone, but too heavy and big for my hands. My favorite is actually the Sony Xperia 1 V, I got to try it for a while, unfortunately I can't buy it myself, this phone still costs 1399 euros in Estonia. So that I can just dream about it. I absolutely love the compactness of the Xperia 1 V in my hand and the cameras which in my opinion seem to beat even the newer iphone, the Xperia has a beautiful screen and overall a beautiful phone for me! And I love that the Xperia has MicroSD and Audio Outputs. Maybe someday I will get this phone, dreaming is still free! Nice video, thank you for the video! Have a nice winter, here in little Estonia it is still very cold and there is thick snow on the ground, although in the meantime, for a few days there was also wet weather. ☀️

I love your videos, I really think the quality of your videos deserve much more, however, I think that’s because of the attention span which your videos do not quite focus on. I get bored fast honestly, you can check whether that’s just me in the analytics section of your channel😅
Switched to an s23 ultra in august from a poco f3. There has been a huge difference in camera, software, and battery. One UI is so much better and more refined than MIUI. My poco f3 had to get sent back for repair(part of the warranty so free) at the start of the year when it started blacking out randomly every hour. Xiaomi seems unreliable. Ive been very happy with the s23 ultra and probably wont upgrade anytime soon.
Things that we android users actually want in iOS are: -A proper file manager -Better connection with windows to browse files in iphone. -sending photos directly as documents. -Actually turning off wifi and Bluetooth by just clicking on the wifi and Bluetooth toggles in control center. -Seperate volumes for media and ringtones. -Sideloading apps.
At this point if a phone only has one screen it's not for me. So now I have the OnePlus Open and the Zfold 5 and I love both of them for different reasons. Honestly I can't choose between them but if I had to pick one I love OneUI but the cameras on the OnePlus 😅
You are correct! They are always kissing Apples ass. They love their free trips. No matter how good the competition is, they gloss over the features and praise the iPhone for its strengths.
Honestly the Iphones colours are better on the camera. And Samsung is having trouble with shutterlag. So there are times when you miss the oppertunity to get a clear shot. And to text on the Iphone is smoother and smarter. The only downside is the lack of numbers on the keyboard when texting compared to Samsung which shows the numbers from the start. But the display is better on the Samsung hands down. Overall Samsung is more free and you can tweak it the way you want and download music directly on the phone.
I dual wield an S23U and iPhone 15 Pro Max. I like them equally and carry them with me wherever I go. My iPhone is an iMessage/Facetime + work apps device, whereas my S23U is 100% entertainment & photography focused. I personally don't the get multi-tasking angle for these types of devices that android users go on and on about every time a comparison video pops up though. Even on desktop I'm a full screen apps power user - just use lots of keyboard shortcuts and avoid taking my hands off they keyboard to navigate or work between two apps using a mouse/trackpad. So "multi-tasking" is never going to be a selling point for any device for me. And the truth is that most people I know feel the same way. Hell, 8 of the Android devs I know all use iPhones and just complain about bad notifications nonstop. When I ask them if they care about multitasking they all rattle off some version of the same "multi-tasking is a myth" mantra.
Can you please tell me the extra services you need when you have a Samsung phone. 📱 like for example with my iPhone 📱 15 Pro Max I pay $38 a month for Apple One. Curios what the differences are?
I bought the iphone 15 Pro Max and the entire apple ecosystem for 6 months and hated it. Wth is wrong with the iPhone that it can't upload a video on multiple social media apps simultaneously? I hated the apple ecosystem and went back to Android. Sold it all and bought the one Plus Open and a Windows laptop with the Intel ultra chip. SOO happy to be back ❤
I agree with you based on the phones you reviewed. However when 😉 the Sony Xperia 1V is superior with it's only flaws is not having an S Pen and as good a battery 👍 Now that aside the S23u is fantastic and hands down deserves to win against these other phones. Apple in my opinion have an average of good and mostly okay with the odd exception.

My s22 ultra is so phenomenal I may not upgrade. I want too but dont see a real benefit as I didn't the s23u but looking for good reasons to do so and there isn't, battery has gotten even better after 1UI6 for me crazy battery life. I had a few months after 5.1 I believe it dropped but I was still getting good battery 6-8 now it's much better. Not a photographer but the devices after this doesn't blow this phone away very similar and the same for the rest of the hardware. AI is cool but still new so not a reason for me. I reserved and if the differences are warranted I'll do it but currently I have one of the best devices on the planet so let's see what they can do, there's tons of things they can but will they

I feel the same way I’m struggling to leave but I also really hate the fact that I basically rent my phone and give Apple $45 every month to have Apple services and when I think about it if I switch to Samsung I get a lot more features, and I don’t have to pay Apple money for Apple One services And my only regret would be losing an Apple Watch Ultra which I really enjoyed but besides that think it’s a wash.
It has been an all-rounder. The greatest victory of S23U lies in the fact that every new flagship that got released throughout 2023 was compared to the S23U for the "Phone Of The Year" Title; and no Phone could beat the Galaxy S23U's all-round capabilities!

I would exchange my s23 Ultra in a heartbeat for a 15pm. Maybe even for a 15 plus model. Don't get me wrong, the 23u is a great phone, but it is impossible to take good photos of moving subjects. I throw so much away and my 11pm didn't have that issue. Plus I just like simplicity, a phone just has to work. And when I want to make a payment online or at a store, it often fails. I never had issues with my iphone. The only issue with apple is their pricing. They don't do deals or sales. Not even when they announce a new model. They just drop the former pro max so that model in NL is more expensive then the 15pm. Which is a shame. Also, why do I have a 512 gb phone and for it to use Google storage which fills up after 15gb and it won't make any backups anymore without purchasing google storage. That's just 🤯 it seems like work to know this phone. So now I have all the storage ij the world but a new phone that no longer makes backups. Or I'm just too much of a noob. Maybe a lil bit of both One thing this device doesn't disappoint at is its battery. It's great even for heavy usage.

Is it an American thing? (the focus on iPhones) or why .. why is it so "difficult to leave"? I have been switching phones yearly. My whole smartphone progression so far has been : Nokia 520, Nokia 6, iPhone X, Samsung Note 10+, Samsung Note 20 ultra, iPhone 12, Samsung s21 ultra, back to iPhone 12 (my old one) - and now intending to buy the Samsung s24 ultra All the while, i use a secondary feature phone for emergencies (2G model .. this is actually important, because 2G has a much longer range than LTE 4G or 5G ... and range can make a difference) Also using the iPad 2, Tab s6, Tab s8, Surface Pro 7, Tab s8 ultra and now the tab s9 ultra So .. just i have been jumping around devices a LOT ... but i never felt like i was bound to any eco-system. I have a PC (of course) and both, Apple and Samsung connects to Windows. Samsung admittedly does it better ... but i can usually make Apple work "good enough" with Windows. So ... isnt all the complaining about eco-systems kind of just a weak apology? Also: because i am European (and pretty much no one cares for it) - i do not use iMessage .. so i couldnt give a rats a** about blue bubbles
I don't think it's an American thing to be honest, I think it's how Apple marketed their products, not just the iPhone. But there is this sense of everything 'just works' which used to be a lot truer like a decade ago. They have continued to improve on hardware (mostly cameras) but for me, the software is now looking outdated and lacking in features. I am in the UK and like you, don't care much about iMessages or any messages for that matter - Whatsapp for most of my work/social messaging and Telegram for close friends. Zero need for iMessage. In this aspect, (messaging) I think it's a pretty localised thing to North America, but I've started to see some evidence that this is mostly outdated as well and Americas are using more and more 3rd party apps for it. So my hunch is that you are right in the 'weak excuse' part whilst the reality is the iPhone, like many Apple products, carry a symbol of status and some people care a lot about that. Anyway, I did entire videos about how ridiculous I think this whole green vs blue bubble is (and the ecosystem argument) and I hope one day this channel becomes big enough for people to see them. For me I was like this going to Samsung s23 and s23 ultra and also had a iPhone 15 and 15 pro max. And now I just have the pro max and miss my s23 and ultra so must. But one thing that got me with android phones was Samsung pay and google pay letting me down way way to much and leaving me in situations when I was out shopping or at petrol stations. Nothing worse than not been able to pay for something and many people waiting behind you. And for me once apple brings themes and some tweaks over to iOS it will be more or less game over.
Samsung Pay is definitley not as smooth as Apple Pay. It works pretty well for me, but it definitely could be better. Apple could definitely turn things around with the iPhone, I honestly think it has an amazing hardware, most of the improvements I wish for are in iOS really...

Phones are great and neck and neck at this point. I have a iPhone but in my heart I’m a Google fan lol. If the pixel fold had the g3 Chip and 8 pro features I would’ve had it still. Or the z fold having 23 ultra specs. I like the ultra but I rather have a pixel 8 pro for the useful day to day features but Google don’t have the ecosystem because the watch is too small and the rest is not equivalent to Apple so for me I have to stick with old reliable

Well Alex, I bought the 23 ultra because I wanted to get away from ios wich I think, now in 2023 is behind android. I was almost ready to give up on s23 ultra because I couldn't find a good smart watch. But now I found galaxy watch 5 pro, it has a really good battery life wich is important to me. Thank you for a great 2023, really nice videos, I wish you a great 2024.

Everybody in my family that has an iPhone wanted me to be the one taking pictures this past Xmas. I have the S23U. They all admit the picture quality is much better.

android video quality is FAR superior when using the motioncam app, it lets you shoot literal raw video, which takes up a bit more storage but the detail you get is completely insane, you can check some comparisons people have made where it completely destroys prores on the iphone

A long time iPhone torn between the S23 Ultra (on a different sim) and a Pixel 8 Pro. Have been playing with Android and must be honest that trying to decide which Android device to go with and leave the Apple ecosystem.

The s23 is a mini computer in you're hands, i can't say that about any other phones out there. I have been a Galaxy user for years and that's three first time i said to myself that Samsung nailed it this time. Snapdragon 8gen 2 is a beast and the battery life is also great which surprised me honestly. I want expecting Samsung to ever release a flagship phone with such great battery life
Hi! Galaxy S23 ultra is yes, a powerful phone, but too heavy and big for my hands. My favorite is actually the Sony Xperia 1 V, I got to try it for a while, unfortunately I can't buy it myself, this phone still costs 1399 euros in Estonia. So that I can just dream about it. I absolutely love the compactness of the Xperia 1 V in my hand and the cameras which in my opinion seem to beat even the newer iphone, the Xperia has a beautiful screen and overall a beautiful phone for me! And I love that the Xperia has MicroSD and Audio Outputs. Maybe someday I will get this phone, dreaming is still free! Nice video, thank you for the video! Have a nice winter, here in little Estonia it is still very cold and there is thick snow on the ground, although in the meantime, for a few days there was also wet weather. ☀️

Switched to an s23 ultra in august from a poco f3. There has been a huge difference in camera, software, and battery. One UI is so much better and more refined than MIUI. My poco f3 had to get sent back for repair(part of the warranty so free) at the start of the year when it started blacking out randomly every hour. Xiaomi seems unreliable. Ive been very happy with the s23 ultra and probably wont upgrade anytime soon.

Honestly, multitasking and being able keep a small screenshot of something while using different apps are the only things keeping me away from iPhone
Things that we android users actually want in iOS are:
-A proper file manager
-Better connection with windows to browse files in iphone.
-sending photos directly as documents.
-Actually turning off wifi and Bluetooth by just clicking on the wifi and Bluetooth toggles in control center.
-Seperate volumes for media and ringtones.
-Sideloading apps.
At this point if a phone only has one screen it's not for me. So now I have the OnePlus Open and the Zfold 5 and I love both of them for different reasons. Honestly I can't choose between them but if I had to pick one I love OneUI but the cameras on the OnePlus 😅

You are correct! They are always kissing Apples ass. They love their free trips.
No matter how good the competition is, they gloss over the features and praise the iPhone for its strengths.
Honestly the Iphones colours are better on the camera. And Samsung is having trouble with shutterlag. So there are times when you miss the oppertunity to get a clear shot. And to text on the Iphone is smoother and smarter. The only downside is the lack of numbers on the keyboard when texting compared to Samsung which shows the numbers from the start. But the display is better on the Samsung hands down. Overall Samsung is more free and you can tweak it the way you want and download music directly on the phone.
I dual wield an S23U and iPhone 15 Pro Max. I like them equally and carry them with me wherever I go. My iPhone is an iMessage/Facetime + work apps device, whereas my S23U is 100% entertainment & photography focused.
I personally don't the get multi-tasking angle for these types of devices that android users go on and on about every time a comparison video pops up though. Even on desktop I'm a full screen apps power user - just use lots of keyboard shortcuts and avoid taking my hands off they keyboard to navigate or work between two apps using a mouse/trackpad.
So "multi-tasking" is never going to be a selling point for any device for me. And the truth is that most people I know feel the same way. Hell, 8 of the Android devs I know all use iPhones and just complain about bad notifications nonstop. When I ask them if they care about multitasking they all rattle off some version of the same "multi-tasking is a myth" mantra.

I bought the iphone 15 Pro Max and the entire apple ecosystem for 6 months and hated it. Wth is wrong with the iPhone that it can't upload a video on multiple social media apps simultaneously? I hated the apple ecosystem and went back to Android. Sold it all and bought the one Plus Open and a Windows laptop with the Intel ultra chip. SOO happy to be back ❤

I agree with you based on the phones you reviewed. However when 😉 the Sony Xperia 1V is superior with it's only flaws is not having an S Pen and as good a battery 👍 Now that aside the S23u is fantastic and hands down deserves to win against these other phones. Apple in my opinion have an average of good and mostly okay with the odd exception.

My s22 ultra is so phenomenal I may not upgrade. I want too but dont see a real benefit as I didn't the s23u but looking for good reasons to do so and there isn't, battery has gotten even better after 1UI6 for me crazy battery life. I had a few months after 5.1 I believe it dropped but I was still getting good battery 6-8 now it's much better. Not a photographer but the devices after this doesn't blow this phone away very similar and the same for the rest of the hardware. AI is cool but still new so not a reason for me. I reserved and if the differences are warranted I'll do it but currently I have one of the best devices on the planet so let's see what they can do, there's tons of things they can but will they

The iPhone is way behind Samsung and other Android phones. But the base will never change.
I feel the same way I’m struggling to leave but I also really hate the fact that I basically rent my phone and give Apple $45 every month to have Apple services and when I think about it if I switch to Samsung I get a lot more features, and I don’t have to pay Apple money for Apple One services And my only regret would be losing an Apple Watch Ultra which I really enjoyed but besides that think it’s a wash.

I would exchange my s23 Ultra in a heartbeat for a 15pm. Maybe even for a 15 plus model. Don't get me wrong, the 23u is a great phone, but it is impossible to take good photos of moving subjects. I throw so much away and my 11pm didn't have that issue. Plus I just like simplicity, a phone just has to work. And when I want to make a payment online or at a store, it often fails. I never had issues with my iphone. The only issue with apple is their pricing. They don't do deals or sales. Not even when they announce a new model. They just drop the former pro max so that model in NL is more expensive then the 15pm. Which is a shame. Also, why do I have a 512 gb phone and for it to use Google storage which fills up after 15gb and it won't make any backups anymore without purchasing google storage. That's just 🤯 it seems like work to know this phone. So now I have all the storage ij the world but a new phone that no longer makes backups. Or I'm just too much of a noob. Maybe a lil bit of both
One thing this device doesn't disappoint at is its battery. It's great even for heavy usage.

Is it an American thing? (the focus on iPhones) or why .. why is it so "difficult to leave"?
I have been switching phones yearly. My whole smartphone progression so far has been : Nokia 520, Nokia 6, iPhone X, Samsung Note 10+, Samsung Note 20 ultra, iPhone 12, Samsung s21 ultra, back to iPhone 12 (my old one) - and now intending to buy the Samsung s24 ultra
All the while, i use a secondary feature phone for emergencies (2G model .. this is actually important, because 2G has a much longer range than LTE 4G or 5G ... and range can make a difference)
Also using the iPad 2, Tab s6, Tab s8, Surface Pro 7, Tab s8 ultra and now the tab s9 ultra
So .. just i have been jumping around devices a LOT ... but i never felt like i was bound to any eco-system. I have a PC (of course) and both, Apple and Samsung connects to Windows. Samsung admittedly does it better ... but i can usually make Apple work "good enough" with Windows.
So ... isnt all the complaining about eco-systems kind of just a weak apology?
Also: because i am European (and pretty much no one cares for it) - i do not use iMessage .. so i couldnt give a rats a** about blue bubbles
I don't think it's an American thing to be honest, I think it's how Apple marketed their products, not just the iPhone. But there is this sense of everything 'just works' which used to be a lot truer like a decade ago. They have continued to improve on hardware (mostly cameras) but for me, the software is now looking outdated and lacking in features.
I am in the UK and like you, don't care much about iMessages or any messages for that matter - Whatsapp for most of my work/social messaging and Telegram for close friends. Zero need for iMessage. In this aspect, (messaging) I think it's a pretty localised thing to North America, but I've started to see some evidence that this is mostly outdated as well and Americas are using more and more 3rd party apps for it. So my hunch is that you are right in the 'weak excuse' part whilst the reality is the iPhone, like many Apple products, carry a symbol of status and some people care a lot about that.
Anyway, I did entire videos about how ridiculous I think this whole green vs blue bubble is (and the ecosystem argument) and I hope one day this channel becomes big enough for people to see them.

For me I was like this going to Samsung s23 and s23 ultra and also had a iPhone 15 and 15 pro max. And now I just have the pro max and miss my s23 and ultra so must. But one thing that got me with android phones was Samsung pay and google pay letting me down way way to much and leaving me in situations when I was out shopping or at petrol stations. Nothing worse than not been able to pay for something and many people waiting behind you. And for me once apple brings themes and some tweaks over to iOS it will be more or less game over.
Samsung Pay is definitley not as smooth as Apple Pay. It works pretty well for me, but it definitely could be better. Apple could definitely turn things around with the iPhone, I honestly think it has an amazing hardware, most of the improvements I wish for are in iOS really...

Phones are great and neck and neck at this point. I have a iPhone but in my heart I’m a Google fan lol. If the pixel fold had the g3 Chip and 8 pro features I would’ve had it still. Or the z fold having 23 ultra specs. I like the ultra but I rather have a pixel 8 pro for the useful day to day features but Google don’t have the ecosystem because the watch is too small and the rest is not equivalent to Apple so for me I have to stick with old reliable
