      A few things thing not mentioned in many tech vids are:
      1. The USA is extremely limited in what phones FULLY work here and are fully supported here. Apple, Samsung and Google fully work and are fully supported in USA. Xiaomi, Vivo….etc don’t work here without extreme limitations and have near zero reliable ways to get support outside of sending your device overseas to be fixed or replaced.
      2. iPhone has taken over the youth of USA. I think the last stat i saw said 8 out of 10 kids (sub 21yo) have iPhone. It’s a status symbol.

      Very true. I can kind of understand though, it’s an American brand and they used to be such leaders in the smartphone space. It’s hard to leave that world too, I’ve been there. I used to blindly upgrade every year without asking whether or not there was anything better out there. So I get it. I have no doubt Apple will make the iPhone great again (see what I did there?) but for me it feels like they rested on their laurels for too long and focused on profits rather than customer satisfaction for to long

    As a lifelong Samsung user, I'm glad you made this video. I've had so many instances where my iPhone friends would ridicule and judge me for using Android. Yes, maybe in the past, Apple was dominating. However, Apple hasn't been innovative in years. RCS is finally universal. The ONLY thing Apple has is good video (esp on apps like ig). Other than that, I've used my wife's iPhone (she is now a S23 Ultra user and she loves it) and it was SLOW and choppy. My Fold 6 is smooth and fluid. I will say the only thing with Samsung is they're becoming like Apple with their iterative updates on the Fold line. The S24 Ultra is the best phone right now. Excited to see what the S25 Ultra will look like.

      thank you! Yes, Apple does a lot of great things but the iPhone isn’t one of them, comparatively. I am sure they will turn things around, but right now, it only makes sense for people who are too entrenched in the ecosystem already. I understand that and I know lots of people who are perfectly happy with the iPhone and apple in general (I was one of those people!) But I do agree with you, Samsung does sometimes do some things that are a bit like Apple. I can’t wait for the S25 Ultra myself, the S24U is already such a beast!

    I've been in the Apple "ecosystem" since 1997, and have seen things change and slowly improve and evolve. And although your video is interesting and I do understand some of your points, I do think it is a little biased, as I myself have simply never experienced any of these issues with any of my devices that you are mentioning. I do not consider myself an Apple Fanboy or anything like that, but, I do think that your experience has come about because you have not spent enough time working things out to make things work for you (just TURN OFF notifications or tweak it in Focus mode). Your iPhone problems also baffled the crap out of me, because, again, I have simply never had any significant battery issues at all, but then again, I have always owned the "S" models or the Pro Max models of the iPhone, as a bigger phone will always have a bigger battery and thus will last longer. I have comfortably come to use Apple devices, because they simply work and have always worked for me without any fuss or issues right out of the box, and save me time, and when it comes to durability and to quality, I have NEVER had an Apple device, die on me, or fail me in any objective way (for example, my wife's, a die hard PC user, computer, runs into problems at least once or twice a week!). Thanks for the video! I love your stuff. Keep on keepin' on!

      @AlexGTech  29 дней назад +1

      Hi there! I am definitely biased, but that is just a ‘point in time’ thing. There have been a few years when looking at anything other than Apple made no sense to me. It was only in 2021 that I felt like it was worth a change, then again Apple were better in my opinion in 2022. But since then, especially in the handheld devices, I feel like I get more for my money out of Android devices. Not saying the iPhone is bad, in fact I’ve created some amazing work with it, but these issues are frustrating for sure. Before I totally get rid of it I will take it to an Apple Store and see if there is anything wrong with it. It was good that I tried this challenge though as a lot of my opinions were less factual based previously.

      @NeilLavitt 27 дней назад +1

      @AlexGTech is a RUclipsr and one trying to grow his channel. It's a good channel and it is clear he works hard at it. A common technique is to play one against the other and bait and switch sides to create story out of what is pretty much the same level of tech plus or minus a few weebles. I mean, Apple Intelligence - it was pretty obvious it would be lukewarm at launch - what did he expect and well it is not like it is that much different elsewhere. All the phone AI is overblown fluff that really isn't worth it. Get one of the services and start creating custom GPTs and the it starts to sing.
      There are few that do this and while it makes for controversial watching at times, it brings in the views and keeps people guessing. @AlexGTech won't want to stay with Apple but will want to cover it as, again, it broadens his watch base, so he baits in the switch and then brings back the others in return. At least he isn't constantly sitting on the fence like some RUclipsrs. He will probably make the switch back again in September next year or at least come up with a reason to try the iPhone and other Apple gear. Oh, I've also never had iPhone battery issues either - why wouldn't you just take it back to the store? They would swap it out if he had the logs to prove the battery was draining more quickly.

    • @AlexGTech
      @AlexGTech  15 дней назад

      @@NeilLavittI slightly disagree with you on a couple of things but you are mostly right. I do cover tech in general and it would be way better (financially and growth-wise) for me to take the easy route and never criticise Apple again. The story you see on my channel is my story, I don’t do things for the sake of bait views, that strategy is very short lived anyway. Even my most ‘clickbaity’ videos have to have some sort of value, some sort of useful information so I try to do that at times. An example is my “Don’t waste your money” video that I do once a year. It’s basically a buying guide, but if I called it that no one would watch. Sadly that’s just the RUclips way. When it comes to how I feel about devices, I can’t hide that the iPhone does nothing for me. And this challenge really proved it for me. On the positive Apple side - which many ignored - I can’t live without my Macs! I wouldn’t dare do this challenge and ONLY use Android and Windows for a month. I would not last 2 days.

    • @AlexGTech
      @AlexGTech  15 дней назад

      @@NeilLavittOn the battery issues - I have taken the iPhone to the store before. They ran diagnostics and told me after hours wasted that there was nothing wrong with it. Downgrading macOS to the original OS it came with - literally the software updates were killing my Mac!

    I've been using Apple devices for almost 5 years and got the entire ecosystem apart from AVP, but recently I started to become pissed off of their limitations (terrible hotspot, garbage containerized file system, no background apps, no screen overlays, only PiP, etc), so I'm slowly getting rid of it, device by device. Waiting for the S25U unveil in a few hours, so I can place a preorder.
    I would have gone for the OnePlus 13, but after thorough investigation, I saw the Samsung's implementation of Find My Device network is miles ahead of the Google's and comparable, if not better than Apple's, at least in Europe, so I decided to invest in Samsung. I'm actually slowly switching to apple ecosystem (over last 2 years). I've been Windows user for 35+ years and Linux user for almost 30 years. Windows lately is a disaster. Nothing works as it should. These small things that makes me want to pull all my hair ... macOS is surprisingly good ... my last PC device is my video workstation. I might switch to Studio if M4 version is good enough.
    Question, what is the equivalent of iPad Mini in Android world? I couldn't find anything like it. Sure there are tablets at 1/10th of the price of the iPad Mini, but there is no premium model like apple Mini ... there are some nice small tablets, but they always miss something :(.

    In 2021, I transitioned to the Apple Ecosystem, replacing my previous Android phone, Windows PC, and Chromebook laptop. Prior to this, my devices were scattered across different platforms.
    Since adopting Apple, I have found the ecosystem to be user-friendly and efficient. I have considered switching to Android, particularly Samsung devices, but the complexity of managing multiple ecosystems, including Android, Windows, and my OCD tendencies, have deterred me.
    However, your review has prompted me to reconsider my decision. I may take a more comprehensive approach when selecting my next device upgrade, exploring the various ecosystems and their potential benefits. :)

    I will say, Apple is absolutely brilliant at marketing their products and tailoring their products to really appeal to the marketing strategy. That said, they’re not perfect, they do have some downsides I wish they didn’t. But, for my uses, their products work exactly as I need from them, and I rarely run into issues. But, if you have uses that are more tailored to specific tasks or require specific software, apples probably not for you.
    Until steam released the steam deck and eventually Asus ROG Ally, my biggest hang up for a long time was gaming on the go that wasn’t on a phone. Because Apple makes the best power efficient laptops by a MILE, but no gaming support. Now, I’ve got all my apple devices for traveling, and my Ally for everything else.

My usage will be different to yours and everyone else for sure, but my experience is that it does indeed just work. Siri in certainly not where it should be, that doesn’t get in the way for me at least, and they are still working on it. The more I use the ecosystem, the more I find it working better and saving me time. Having said that, I bet that if I just went Android for 50 odd days I would experience similarish issues to you, as time invested in either will bear dividends. Peace

      Totally agree, the mini has been a revelation, probably in the last decade. Previous minis were already great value and I remember thinking - not that long ago - how the first M1 Mac Mini are still incredible for a lot of use cases. Fantastic point about getting work done! It’s hard to portray in this video but it really was painful not having the multitasking abilities of the Tab S10U or my Sw4U. It was worth doing this though, I think my reviews will be less based on opinion and more factual as a result. Have a great weekend!

That's when I started experiencing those exact problems. Constant find my notifications, bad battery life, couldn't get all my backups to work etc etc etc. now i just use strictly android products (primarily foldables) and things have been so much easier for me. Just moved to S24 Ultra, after having most iPhones since the 3GS. At the moment the jury is still out, only been using S24 since Xmas day, so not really in a place to comment on what is better. Yes, everything is easier on Apple, as it’s like second nature, on android takes a bit more thinking about In some scenarios, due to I’ve not got the app, or forgot to move stuff over etc… I’ve wanted to move for about a year, and also wanted the S24 Ultra so bad. Before I purchased the ultra, my opinion was if iOS was on the S24 Ultra, then it would be the perfect phone for me. I just love the design of the S24 Ultra. Great video! I own an iPhone 16 Pro Max with 1TB storage (€1800) and a Vivo Android V30E (€200). I tend to use my Vivo more often than the iPhone because it's lightweight, offers free (modded) apps, and allows me to store my entire 1.5TB micro sd movie collection, including series, action, and comedy films, on a memory card. With modded games available without any cost 😅, unlimited movie downloads 😅, and an mod AI keyboard for Asian languages, plus cheaper subscriptions for other apps, it just fits my needs better. The Vivo lasts about two days on a single charge and has survived five drops down the stairs, still working like a charm, unlike the iPhone Pro Max, which drains battery quickly, is pricey in apps and subscription, and makes it difficult to transfer my movie collection 😢.

    Great video, I agree with most of your points. I currently have two main apple devices.
    The first one is the iPhone 15 Plus. I paid brand new price for this (expensive but I think it was worth it).This is (in my opinion) one of the best iPhones. It has a very long battery life, bigger screen, and I don't have to deal with apple intelligence until I am ready to upgrade. The Pro model (not pro max) has the most features and smaller body, ergo worse battery life (I'd never buy it myself). The 15 plus still feels brand new to me even a year and a half later, the iPhone 16's are definitely not good enough phones to justify any sort of upgrade.
    The other device I have is the M2 MacBook Air. I bought it on sale with 16gb ram and 1tb in February, for $1500. While it was expensive, it has definitely proved its worth. I mainly bought it because I am a student, and I only had to make a one time payment for Logic, which is very logical.
    iPad is not worth it without a specific use case, and I have $60 headphones that are good enough.
    This video definitely gives flack to the iPhone 16's, which I agree with. The two devices I have do keep me in the walled garden, but I am happy there. For $2,400 everything does seem to just work. I'd also like to point out that higher priced Samsung devices, like the S24 ultra costs $1,299 which is $100 more than the iPhone 16 pro max.

    You’re right about Apple Intelligence, they really dropped the ball. Though Samsung AI is pretty ordinary as well - kinda unfinished wash of features that are really poor compared with the Gemini features embedded in the Pixel.

    First I will say that I use both Apple and Android devices. I see strengths and weaknesses in both of them. And I definitely see some very idiotic things that Apple does with some of their products. I will have to say though, that I do think you have a defective iPhone 16 Pro. While none of them have stellar battery life, a fully functioning one would last a lot longer than the one you have. So I do think as far as the phone goes you have a defect. Not sure about the ultra watch. I have one and it lasts me for two days but I would say I use it at what one might call a low/medium use level.
    Apple Intelligence is a joke. Not only the fact that it did not roll out with the new phones, but that they forced people who had just bought the last generation to upgrade unless they had a pro. I honestly think Tim Cook should retire for that.

      @ what do you mean it doesn't do anything ? Like, special features ? The only thing I still miss is split screen option. When it comes to others... in 14 months I've been using Iphone I had to restart my phone once (due to Viber not working) and maybe youtube closed itself 2-3 times. Other then that - zero issues. And I've been using 11 Pro Max as work phone for 3-4 months, again - zero issues. Yeah, since iOS 18 there are bugs here and there (looks like their main goal is AI and nothing but AI), but basics work perfectly. People seem to forget Face ID (no other unlocking method can match it), iMessages and Facetime, Airdrop, iCloud and all the other stuff that really does not exist on the other side. Also, Samsung flagships still come with a lot of bloatware and double apps, while on Iphone you can delete pretty much everything. Above all, invest in Iphone and you're good for at least 3-4 years, with Android, as soon as next model is presented, last years one becomes "old".
      PS anyone not satisfied with Iphone can easily sell it and invest in Android flagship, I see many people complaining but still continuing to use Iphone.

I love my blended ecosystem, and whilst I appreciate that a full Apple walled garden does feel great, for me personally, I just prefer the android experience in my phone. I am eagerly eyeing up the S25 ultra, those rounded corners will win me over I think. In one way it is great that people defend their loyalty to a brand as it shows they are passionate about, lets face it, a very big financial investment, however none of us are wrong in our choices, as they are our personal choices for what works best for us. for those who are long term invested in Apple I really hope they stop being complacent and release something of a holy grail in the iphone 17 range, for me, for now, I shall remain part of the Sample family 😂

    Apple products drive me crazy compared with Android devices. I've been using both platforms for two decades now and am far happier using Android over Apple. I still like Apple products, though. So, there's that.... I think I'm an abuse victim- LOL!

    "my idevice experience is not that bad" this is the only mention that any Apple device might even desserve. Other than that impression would be overhyped

    And here I am going to bed with my 16PM with 60% of juice left thinking “should I charge it, should I not?” 😂
    I think you might have a lemon, that’s not an acceptable performance at all. Although for the battery drain when using the camera, I imagine you were using an SSD shooting log etc so that could explain the excessive drain.
    Your videos are exciting because you sound like you have “just found” android haha. I used 8 different android devices in the space of 8 years when they were so exciting comparing to iPhones. I had the legendary HTC one M8 (my 1st android), I had the galaxy s7 edge (that phone was absolutely incredible, the aesthetic was unmatched for the time), I moved to the note line up and was even part of the Samsung upgrade program, tried a few Xiaomi phones (disappointing experience overall) until I had the s22 ultra (Exynos). That phone was the nail in Samsung’s coffin for me. It gave me a subpar performance for an eye watering price tag. Samsung in the last few years copied Apple in all aspects that they shouldn’t have: removing the charging brick, removing de SD card, headphone jack etc. So at that point, when they take so many things that used to differentiate them from Apple, they should very well deliver a good performance, which they didn’t with that phone 😢
    Don’t get me wrong, they add loads of features that people absolutely love (mostly tech nerds, let’s be honest), unfortunately, I couldn’t care less about the majority of them. I really hope Samsung fixes the problems that they have and for the love of god put better chipsets on their watches because those things are laaaaaaaggy 😂

    you definitely got a lemon and should've returned the phone for another. why even suffer through 52 days to review a lemon? i have the iPhone 12p/13/15pm and not one til this day have 1% of what you mentioned. my extended family are 70% apple and not one complained about notifications on airtags. I'm not an apple fanboy at all and actually consider looking into pixel 10 next year but apple's wall garden is well managed and makes it so hard to jump across. ultimately, we're at a point where 'who cares what you pick', they both eventually end up at the same place with some things working better on one vs the other. not to mention, the phones are so expensive nowadays that many hold onto theirs 4+ years and they just don't care for any of the new fancy stuff. only folks here do, the 2%. there are lots you didn't mention because you can't really experience it but when you need it, which one are you going to bet on? fall detection, ecg on watch, SOS satellite messaging, faceid, airtags (find my), crash detection, etc... .these are features that came first on the apple ecosystem and proven while the rest are playing catch up. point is, stick to your ecosystem that you have today or what you want to do with it. you've already invested so much and they are basically very close in what you get in return so save that money and get another device within that ecosystem. for the ones who can afford it, have fun.

    While I firmly believe you have mischaracterized Apple’s ecosystem, I’m in complete agreement with you as it pertains to the 16 Pros. I have never seen an Apple product as unfinished and flawed. 18.1 and 18.2 are full of issues such as battery drains, freezes, lags, slow and at times no response. Similar to Bixby, Siri continues to be dumber than a post, and the overhyped Apple intelligence appears to be the reason the 16’s have flaws.
    Writing tools and ChatGPT may be of use. However, Genmoji and Image Playground animations are fit for a 5-year-old. Fortunately for those of us who own a 16, Apple’s service is unmatched, and Apple itself has a well-established reputation for refining its OS with updates until they get it right. If not, well you know the outcome of that decision?

    • @AlexGTech
      @AlexGTech  28 дней назад +1

      I agree, the only feature in Apple Intelligence I care about is Writing Tools and that has been so bad in comparison to others like Google and Samsung. I am sure they will catch up though, I just wonder if it will be too late and others will be onto something else by then.

      And good point on being open minded about this stuff, if iOS and updates don't make it right for you, there's always other options. But as someone who switched in both directions I can tell safely say, nothing is perfect. Some options may just suit you better than others, and that's cool!

    Nearly 18 minutes of apple bashing. Anyone who has used the same devices will know that what you’re saying simply isn’t true. Apps don’t just offload unless the setting is checked and the Apple Watch Ultra can easily last a couple of days on 1 charge. You lost a subscriber with this garbage.

      😂 It took some guts, not gonna lie. Especially in the first week. I do think this experience will help my reviews going forward as a lot of what I’ve been saying for a while I can now back up with actual things that I learned. It was tough, but here is the thing… I am not sure I could do it the other way around and not use Apple for a month. Mostly because of my Mac work. It would make it extremely slow and pretty much halt my creative work if I had to move everything to Windows.

      Honestly, I think it will work well for a lot of people for a long time. Heck, I only used Apple for a long time myself. But for me as I evolved what I do and experienced other devices I learned how limiting the ecosystem can be. I do think the Apple one is the most complete right now, but that comes at a price of course…

    Hi, i have been an android user for most part and recently switched to iphone. I still think android is better at many things.
    I see a few problems with your testing.
    1) using iphone 16pro, it has the worst battery life. U have to get pro max
    2) air pod 2nd gen, go for 4th gen.
    3) i agree about ipad display, it's criminal.
    I believe you really gave it a shot which is why i am pointing out potential flaws in ur analysis.
    The battery life on s24 ultra & s23 ultra are mediocre. I am using iphone 13 pro max and it is so much better battery life, there is no comparison.

    90% of people buy iphone just for social status reasons. I can guarantee that at average office job, 100% of all women working there will have iphone, because if you don't have iphone you will be judged and for women it is mega important (same with stupid clothing brands and other vanity nonsense).

    My sons and wife have Apple watches SE, and they're better than my galaxy watch classic from 2023. We have several ipads and they're better than the S9 ultra functionality, keyboard, and app support, not to mention their interoperability, like file sharing. Finally, my Dell XPS and windows 10 pale in comparison to the M1 MacBooks and macOS have from the same era.

    Ofc the s24 ultra has better battery than the 16 pro. The battery size is no where near comparable. They both are great phones. I had the 24 ultra and I loved it. I switched tho for the 16 pro max and I’ll say the battery is far better on iPhone.

      16p is a small phone same size as s24 and both almost similar in battery life
      gonna be totally diff with 16PM vs S24U As many tests already proved
