for anyone curious, these folks are as genuine and kind as they seem in the video. each time I've ever been in the Ferndale shop they've all be so awesome to talk to and deal with
This video literally has me in tears because I'm thinking of all the other workers in the world who never get a chance to innovate while they work under dictators.
What I like most about this year's improvement video is how many of the improvements were free - created by the ingenuity of those in the gemba. (As opposed to purchased technology) Great to see!
It is brilliant to see all these things are system improvements from the actual user, not from someone who"thinks it might be useful" without ever actually performing the task. I love to keep doing these tweaks in my own workshop. Keep up the great products, I just bought the blue bench dogs sets and am now working out where the best place is to place them on my bench. PS. I have had the 3rd Hand Little Hands for years and they are brilliant. I will keep watching these little improvements.😊
Really enjoy the computer peoples improvements. I noticed the person who had a document template with 'print for actual size' wow thats going to improve my biz alot! Do you think there might be a full episode on saving clicks? 😅 its pretty hard to escape the pc no matter what your business is these days 😊
Video improvement request: the background music is a little loud, making some speakers hard to understand. Love the improvements, though, and that you share them.
@hillcrestcabinets The one used for Yuriy's/Mitch's improvement is a Tool Balancer. If you type in Tool Balancer to Google you get a variety of brands, styles and lengths.
Great job reporting these excellent improvements! One suggestion I would not accept the guarding on your new mold tables. I’m assuming they have two hand controls but you also should have guarding (interlock type gates), or safety light curtains around the machine to eliminate body parts in or around the moving parts, especially where they’re creating sheer points. 🙏
I'm surprised I didn't see any Stream Decks. Whe you decide to start using them, invest in the 32 button version. It allows you to layout your work flow in a visual way that's easy to understand.
We could maybe have a video with viewer improvements that have been used, based on video observation, force multiply the improvements by thousands from viewer and staff combined.
@reebgogs Thanks for the question! The one used for Yuriy's improvement is a Tool Balancer by Exso. If you type in Tool Balancer into Google you get a variety of brands, styles, and wire lengths.
@ 16:54 I noticed that there weren't any markings on the gauges. How much pressure is too much/little for each set of dies? Is that tribal knowledge or is it written down somewhere?
@RobertDinTulsa We chatted with Terrel they do have a base number that they start at but it does vary from die to die and material when its being operated. The pressure fluctuates constantly as the die is used and becomes duller. That is why they haven't put any markings on the gauges. The markings are a great idea, we have passed this suggestion along to Terrel and the rest of the crew and they are looking into further improvements to the gauges.
@user-zs2ot9rb9c Johnny also has a chair that he uses at his desk. The way he has it setup at the moment fits best when he is sitting but for the video he stood to make it easier to show his improvement.
A good improvement would be customer service. Descent products, but quality is questionable. After 2 months and maybe 2 uses of a BRAND NEW tape the locking mechanism broke. Customer service refused to provide support because I didn’t purchase off their own website. Ridiculous. Would never purchase a product from them again.
@RandyandPetraJ We are sorry you had a bad experience we will definitely replace that for you. Even though you didn’t purchase it from our website. We are surprised it broke within 2 months, that shouldn’t happen, our tape measures last for years. Please email info@fastcap.com with your blade style and your address and they will send you a replacement.
@@FastCapLLC Reached back out to the same rep and included your reply and she took care of me. You have fixed my issue, just hope you carry that forward to future customers, you will gain trust and loyalty. I could feel like I only got resolution due to me coming out here and raising the issue, but I will give FastCap the benefit of the doubt and assume good intentions. I will consider your products in the future if you have something I need. Thanks for your assistance.

Starting to look forward to these every year now.

I like the light box setup
Cool video! I always like these! I would be in the back with Lucas working on improving stations and inventing new products!
What I like most about this year's improvement video is how many of the improvements were free - created by the ingenuity of those in the gemba. (As opposed to purchased technology) Great to see!
Every year this video is so inspiring to lean in and keep improving. Lean improvements are the best form of compound interest out there!
Love the pride in efficiency!

Great team!!!
Nice video. I enjoyed that.
Stopped using fastcap products was my improvement for 2023
You guys are awesome, I want to come work there forever
Omg. I love this video. Manufacturing and logistics solutions instead of product promotions. FastCap is top notch and the team is awesome. 🎉

@troublemaker1228 Great idea! We will chat with the team and see if we can make a computer click improvements video.
WOOT!

@IanSGI Thanks for the feedback! For our 2024 improvement video will be mindful of the background music.
Your greatest achievement is a culture that inspires improvement and keeps people interested
Impressive
What are those retractable tool hangers? Love that

change the label color background to yellow, black on yellow is a higher contrast and much easier to see

Cool and all but tell me more about the office dogs
@jessicagregory4624 Our FastCap dogs are the best!
Great vid! What is the name of the red retractor used for the air tool at Yuri’s station?

@@FastCapLLC thank you!!
Next year's improvement: Everyone is mic'ed up so we can hear them!
@chrispcall We can definitely work on that for next years improvement video. Thanks for the feedback!
Can’t say I struggled to hear anyone.
@@FastCapLLC And maybe skip the background music too.

the standing desk is too short for Johnnie, it could come up a foot or so
