I feel like Aaron Weiss just went walking after the video and saw Norma Jean filming their own video, and he just started to sing the best part of Memphis Will Be Laid to Waste.
Aaron is a true poet. The first and second album define who they are. Hes so different then when i first saw him before the first album, here he looks french, last i saw he had a huge scraggly beard and was eating out of a dumpster. His life almost reflects buddha
Trying to decide if this comment meant they really saw him eating out of a dumpster or if they were just saying he looked like he would be eating from there at the time. 🤔 Comments so old will probably never know.
I'm stunned by this bands transformation through the years. Not in a bad way, just amazed by it. But the older stuff will always be my favorite. So raw
Never liked much of what they did past this album. Their EP had them on the track to be one of the best hardcore punk bands of the 2000's. They had to change to gain a fan base. Anyone who likes them now wouldn't like their EP.
Here I am, 31 years old and remembering this suddenly out of nowhere. Had to show my wife this song. We talked about how people used to make mix “tapes”, although in our case they were CDs. Just loved this band and this song and the video. The giving tree was one of my favorite stories ever and their nod to it fills my heart.
@@AN-vs5pb yes, and they’re coming through my town in a couple weeks. Kind of insane. I think I will try to snag a couple of tickets and do the young me some justice.
@@jogey7603 good idea. I was at the one in St. Louis a few days ago. It's totally worth the price. Also, I just found the band a couple years ago and as a 24 year old I was the odd one out lol. It was all 30 and 40 year olds haha

So anyway, this is the accurate translation: I will lift my eyes to you I have changed names a hundred times I will lift my eyes to you I have no hope
I love most of toothe and nail records artists, but I have to say this is the best video I have seen done by them. It had a flavor of gripping reality. Though a little crazy towards the middle. But really overall a good video for a low budget. GREAT STUFF> Keep it up.
I prefer the new album to 'A-B Life' personally, but people shouldn't give this guy thumbs down for saying the new album doesn't rock, it's just more folky. XD
I'll never bore of this album, somehow every other album they've done just doesnt quite cut it, as enjoyable as they all are. also, if you guys want a squeeze more of their harder stuff check out their older ep 'i never said that i was brave', hard to get, but possible :) peaceoutx
i saw these guys open for mae back in '04 at a hole in the wall called rock island in denver...they're still every bit as good now. and this is still one of the best breakup songs i know. wrathful, yet eloquent.

Aaron seems to study a lot of different ideas from theism, and all different ideas of faith. So they may not be a christian band, but they do seem to explore different religious cultures and ideas in their work. At least in their new stuff. Anyway, this song is incredible.
@paramoreurule no i can see exactly why people might not like them, alot of people hate the voice, i personally think its one of the most amazing voices i have ever heard, i didnt like them when i first heard them, but listened to the lyrics and fell in love
