That second story. Whine. Whine. Whine. FOR YEARS. Call a tow truck. Call the police. Call CPS. Making it inconvenience for them will make them behave. The scariest words any HOA or squatter can hear, "I'm a, my SO, or my family member is a lawyer who will work for free to screw you."
OP of the dishwasher story should have worked the extra time then reported manager to the authorities. Unless there is some outside scrutiny things won't change. You have to expose the bad management to someone who'll do something about it. Otherwise it will continue and escalate.
Loved the last one. As a soldier my job required me to start to become familiar with real-estate law. I found the class to be quite interesting. When you rent there are some things you can't do but as the property owner you can. But don't forget laws can vary by state...
I don't see what the mention of an HOA even added to the story since it was irrelevant. I also think the whole thing was entirely made up. Not too bad a tale, but still fiction.
@@melkiorwiseman5234it apparently was the HOA president who thought that just because he was the HOA president that gave him the absolute right to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, wherever he wanted.
Yeah, it sounds like someone that doesnt know anything about how HOAs operate making up a story about one, since they are a pretty common villain. Also, I have never heard someone with a law degree say 'make a living as a lawyer'. They usually say I am a lawyer, non-practicing lawyer, etc. You dont also just magically create a new residence out of nowhere. It takes plenty of permits and time to build. Everything about that story screams "totally made up" from miles away.
I'm sure it didn't take long for that to happen afterward, since they suddenly had a huge drop in income, very large sum paid for the income from the rent, and all because a POS idiot decided his desires were more important than the fact that everything he was doing was illegal.
A old job I had a “karen” manager, she was a karen on a power trip with a stick up her bumm, and lazy as heck. Willing and able to write you up and chew you out over the smallest thing when a simple “you missed it, please be more careful” 2 seconds notice would work fine, not even on your employee record. She was condescending and talked down to people, and drove people off left and right. More then a few times due to her attitude we were short staffed and overworked….Karen always asked for help approved OT, nope!!!! Never!!! I got my 40 hours and nearly everyone else said no, unfortunately for her she had to do the work herself staying hours past her normal leaving time(she was salary)…. Ultimately “allowed” to quit, she was called into HR and told “you can give your 2 weeks notice here and now or be fired here and now, either way your going to GTFO.”😂😂😂😂😂 Done and done!!!!
When it comes to land, people can be very protective of what they own. Some get downright nasty and insist a person get off their property at the point of a gun. Dishwasher op knew her rights under the law and stuck to them. Her manager wasn't aware of a manager's responsibility, or she would have found someone to cover for op while she was on break. Or she would have stepped in and started washing dishes.
In regards to neighbors and cars - - The very first time it happened and they blocked you in, you should have called a tow truck. Prove to them you weren't gonna take any shit from them. Oh as a side note - - Hire an EDITOR!!!!!
I used to be a security officer and one of our company contracts was for a busy Mcd location.. it was usually for Friday and Saturday after 1 of 2 or both local high school hockey games.. I personally never has problems with any Karens but with a lot of students who would hang out in locations and not place a meal order after a game
This HOA thinks by building a house on op property. Op will become HOA member but the law doesn’t work like that. Plus HOA get fine for building a building on land not there’s.
A Karen thinks that anyone that works, works everywhere, thus has to do whatever she wants. After a few weeks of having people to block their driveway, its time to have cars towed.
Perhaps a good response to an IDWHL situation would be say "Am I being punked? Is this a joke? You aren't really STUPID enough to think I work here, are you?" And proceed to stare at Karen with an aggressive sneer until she backs off. If she double down say. "Wow, you are a special kind of stupid," and stare at her like she is specimen at the zoo. Keep the psycho stare going, DON"T TURN YOUR BACK. Just keep staring making it obvious that there is something wrong with this idiot. Call out anyone nearby and say "Can you believe it? This fool thinks I work here. I'm not even dressed like an employee. This person is either blind or insane! Wow! What a moron!" On second thought, Karan will probably start throwing hands. Still, at least you'll be facing your opponent instead being hit with your back turned like in so many of these stories.
Dishwashing story: That manager was an idiot. I'm originally from Michigan, very similar child labor laws. Yeah, there are limits not only on the number of hours a minor can work in a week, but the hours that a minor is ALLOWED to work as applied to the times of day/night are also defined. These hours also vary as to the age of the minor. Even weekend and holiday hours are defined. McD story: OP, you said it was in a rich part of town. She saw you in a uniform. Anyone in a uniform is there to serve her and you didn't. Stupid on her part, but still. Shared driveway story: Been there and it was BS. Plenty of parking behind the house (house was made into 4 apartments) but one neighbor just couldn't understand WHY he couldn't park in the driveway because he lived in the front of the house and walking from the parking area in the back was just too far. He was physically fit to do so. HOA story: How in the world did they manage to get building permits to build on land they didn't own or have under contract?
HOA story: Certified mail thanking them for the house and a locksmith contacted to change the locks. How is the HOA gonna sue you for "stealing the property" when it was built on your land, which makes it your own property
I'm glad the property owner stood his grounds and called the HOA presidents bluff. The Moral of this and every other HOA story is Never Buy Into An HOA!🤣😂🤣
When you have crappy butt-hole neighbors (or HOA) cameras are a requirement, not an option. You should be discrete about the cameras. That way the butt-hole neighbors would keep up their actions and do something really illegal.
(@ 11:58) In the UK, if someone builds a on your land, then (a) they do not own it AND (b) you do. So you eject them, rent it out, and have the income for free. Or whatever. And since they have no contract, you owe them NOTHING.
1st story, federal law says that minors can't work past 10 pm on school nights. Took a department of labor course required by my company for all supervisors and management.
The second story, regarding the security officer, here's the facts, there are about 7 citizens in the U.S. For every sworn police officer, therefore the average citizen, encounters a police officer about once every 7 years but for every sworn officer, there are about 11 private security officers, that means the average citizen, has an encounter with private security about once a year, ( but it also means that when the stuff hits the fan, the private security officer is the first one on the scene, requiring a high degree of training, and professionalism, and the community of such highly trained professionals is small indeed) so is it any wonder that to the average citizen we are practically invisible?
Story about crazy kids who keep vandalizing your house we had kids like that when I was young my dad usually just told me to go take care of it so I went out there with a knife and an ice pick and I did their tires and I did their windshields and sometimes put holes in the body of the car and after that I left a note saying don't bother us again they never did😅
I done dishes in a casino buffet that also done the sports bar and their high-end steakhouse I was alone one night my manager ,lead and the guy who ran the department wouldn't help I was just about to walk out because all three food outlets were getting slammed but the head chef went to the dishes crew leadership team and ripped them a new one for having one guy in the pit while they were hiding in the office and actually got them working two months later I transferred to the slots department and got a $5 bump and a leadership team that actually helps out when it hits the fan.

Agreed! The fine the restaurant would get would get the attention of the lazy manager’s bosses. Good bye manager. Easy fix.
