I bought a PSP just to play this back in the day and this did not disappoint! Zack was a real hero! Soundtrack was in repeat legit for years afterwards, looking forward to this one!
Bought this game expecting nothing but man was it really good story
If it's a soundtrack, I much more prefer PSP version of Mako City then thin new arrangement. Thank God it will probably be possible to mod it on PC.

Thank you for a great review. When they first revealed this remaster or remake I was so happy. I bought everything back in the psp version and I still have the wallpaper cut out from the walkthrough guide. I can’t wait to relive this all over again.

This couldnt be further from the truth. CC is the 8th highest selling game on psp with over 3M sales. You do realize how massive that is for a spin off game, right?!

@@robsmall6466 yes I get that. The point is that game reviews are not usually allowed to come out that early. The studio must have been very confident in their release.

They may indeed be confident in their work. They may also realise they need to generate hype early as the game is released to the public close to Christmas and is in danger of being lost amongst the many other releases. Suffice to say it's nothing to do with the influencer in question and everything to do with the marketing team

Yay! I've been waiting for your review on this! I'm planning on getting this for Christmas, however I already have the original for the PSP, so I've been all caught up in the CC story and lore. Tbh, when ff7 remake came out, I felt bad for the new fans who have never played ff7 original, nor did they play crisis core, because when they saw Zack at the end of the remake part 1, I'm sure they got so confused, and probably said, who tf is this guy?? There's two buster swords? What's going on? That's not cloud cause he has black hair etc etc. I felt like it qasnt a good idea to reveal Zack so quickly in the remake, only because new fans would be so confused, and they might not even like ff7 after experiencing something like that in a franchise. Now that a CC remaster is out, new players can play it and fully understand Zack and WHY he is so important to the ff7 story and lore. I'm super excited to replay CC, and I'm super freaking hyped for the new and fixed mechanics of this remaster! The new dash button, the menu changes in battle, how you can stack your abilities from the DMW modulator. No more hearing, MODULATING PHASE! every 5 seconds in battle! And we can finally SKIP the DMW cutscenes!! 💜🤝

It’s crazy how in engine cutscene or better then pretty much all pre rendered cutscenes at this point at least to me I noticed it in the FF7R
As someone who has played the mainline ff games and the 7 remake, i never got to play Crisis core. I legit can't wait for this!
As someone who never played this on psp I'm so glad I bought this. The music is amazing (Town where the sunlight never reaches). When I finish this I'll probably replay the 7 remake.

I gave the original game like an 8.5. My biggest issue was dealing with 1 thumbstick. Having camera movement bumps it up to a 9 for me. The rest makes it a 9.5 in my book. If it was not so short I would give it a 9.7
Can someone tell what the jackpot type thing scrolling in the top left of the hud in the game is? I always see that in any new gameplay shown for this game.
The Tidus laughing scene is probably the best possible way I've heard someone describe the voice acting 😂

One thing I am wondering (and maybe you cover it later in the review) is whether or not you can customize controls. I had mapped L1 to block and R1 for materia shortcuts in FFVII Remake, so I would definitely prefer to do the same here if possible.

About half way through mission one I switched to Japanese audio w/ english subs, and the game became a fantastic fun anime!

This is vastly different than the remake, it's a great game, but it's soooo sooo different, it will feel like a 2007 title, which honestly it is, it's a remaster and not a remake, still great! But same plot points and story

I love your channel overall but you do tend to give out high scores really easily. You were the only channel to give Thymesia and Diofield a 9 out of 10. Sometimes when high scores are so frequent it becomes hard to truly know if it is that great or not. Hopefully it is as good as you say, looking forward to trying it.

So two questions:
1) Does having a save from FFVII Remake unlock anything in the PS4/5 version?
2) Do you know how this runs/looks on Switch?
Switch runs at 30fps constant, and no having a save from remake does not unlock anything as this game is not connected, it's a separate title exclusive to itself

Your review intro is inaccurate. People weren’t asking for “another taste” of Final Fantasy VII when it released in 1997,because, back then, no direct sequels ever came out for Final Fantasy games. It wasn’t until Final Fantasy X-2 that ANY direct sequels had ever even been suggested.
X-2 (2002)came out only a year after Final Fantasy X (2001). This created the possibility for a prequel/sequel to any Final Fantasy games. By then, FF VII had been out for five years. No one thought Square would go back and re-visit an older title like that.
It wasn’t until Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, in 2005, that people began relishing the thought of revisiting the FF VII world. Dirge of Cerberus came out in 2006, along with the Japanese only mobile game, Before Crisis, while Crisis Core released in 2007. That’s a 10 year difference from the original of Final Fantasy VII.

I'm playing Crises Core for the first time (as an OG FF7 player). I enjoy the story revelations (e.g. I didn't realize that Zach and Cloud had the exact same fall through the church-- she needs to fortify that roof). My biggest complaint is unless I impose some limit on myself the game is too easy. This is my first time playing and I did set it on hard mode. The clunky PSP controlls is probably the only thing that made it challening haha.
My daughter is getting me this for Xmas good timing I have just finished GOW so I need another game to get into
I think Crisis Core was the epitome game on PSP! looks like many others seem to agree and I'm happy that this is what they did to bring it over to modern consoles.

@@Kyle-Marxluxia pretty much more of a remake than a remaster they changed the graphic engine completely and even some character models seem to of been remade. Not only that but the controls were remade to be like they are in the FF7 remake.

@@Zilla17707 Square Enix have stated on multiple occasions, it's a "Remaster". The story is the same, script is the same and no new extra content. The combat has been revamped, visuals have been improved greatly and it's a new voice cast. I won't say more lol
I really liked the psp original but man I hated that leveling up was based on chance with slots. That one feature kept me from beating the game for a few years until I eventually got lucky. Sad to see that's still here, but otherwise I can't wait to play the remake!!
I agree. Makes fighting and grinding a bore. Bring regular experience like every fucking rpg that does good. This game is a flop without leveling normal. Never played the original, wont play this either. Just like chained echoes, changing a tried and true way of leveling ruins games. Sadly this game will be brought back by MANY who pre ordered and were expecting a real RPG. It’s trash bye bye
@@thesmitty467 Yeah, definitely a respectable opinion. I really hated when paper mario dropped the exp leveling system too, it made the battles feel pointless. On the other hand, I still liked the story and gameplay (aside from the random leveling) for Crisis Core so imo it isn't a total waste, but I definitely get your point.

It’s not really chance, there is a hidden exp bar that when filled guarantees those numbers on the wheel. They could have done to let you see it though.

I am with you. I have the Switch version pre-ordered and am trying to decide whether or not to grab it a second time for PC/Steam Deck. Obviously it will look/play better there than Switch, but I also am not sure I want to double-dip right now unless the Switch version is broken.
Is there an option to turn off that "combat engaged" voice of mass annoyance, I loved it on my PSP and now I'll love it a bit more on my switch, PS4 n PS5, and i'll love it even more so with an option to turn "That" voice off, loved your insight thoughts n overview on this game, you know what else would be sweet as punch? If they remade/Remastered Birth by sleep Kingdom hearts that game is mad awesome, forget sora, in my mind Terra is the best character in the whole series and I loved and played it to death on my PSP, that secret level within the world of Darkness, gosh that was an awesome level, and would look sweet as with the modern day controls and graphics, anyway cheers heaps for your vid, I'm very excited to pick this up soon, take care till the next one 👍

I really didn't think this was necessary being the PSP version still holds up quite well.. Nevertheless I'm glad it happened.. I got it day one because this was actually the FF I played the most.. I could never beat the final boss tho.. Now I have the chance to go through the game again.. I never really played the original FFVII all that much.. I do quite like FFVIIR tho.. i think the reboot is what I'm probably gonna stick with..
I never got a chance to play this on PSP. I sold my PSP in 2008, something I kinda regret. I'm not sure why I did not play Crisis Core cause I was a fan of FF7 and watched Advent Children. Maybe I did not know what the game was not sure.
