These basses are just wonderful. Great build quality and sound. The only mods I deemed necessary was a white tug bar instead of the black one, and a bit of shielding...
I have the sunburst model and added original Fender chrome pickup & bridge covers. Not sure if they would fit well but they fit perfectly on the Squire. Looks great.
So I wasn't completely sold on this (and I've played them a couple times at a music shop) until you did this demo. Now I want one for sure. No one demos these with a more aggressive tone like that, and my main worry was the pickup wouldn't be as supple, but I think it sounds better than the normal split coil.
I played a late-60's "Telecaster" bass in college and it's the one guitar/bass I really regret letting get away....from everything I've seen/read about the Squier CV Precision I can see one in my music room shortly. I do think I would change the OEM pickup for a Seymour Duncan antiquity though. Tks for the review. Mine was equipped with the stock pickup and bridge covers and the bridge cover had damping foam installed on the underside-as I recall I just pulled off...little did I know.
Your welcome! I also regretted selling a couple of basses, but I did manage to buy one back though. It only didn't have the magic sound I still had in my head...
That sounded good to me. Ideal for a loud band in a loud pub. Don't want to be gigging with your multi thousand pounds Fender that could easily get nicked. In a loud pub no one can tell the difference anyway.
Realy? I know I said that I was curious about this bass, because it's the only one with only one pickup. With that, I meant a single coil pickup, instead of the later Precision "double" single coil configuration.
Is it a one piece neck? And its really a hum cancelling split coil?? Try a set of DR Legend stainless flats, they're delightful. Gold anodized pickguard and it'd be a dream.
I'm not too sure about a one piece neck or hum cancelling pickup, but I didn't mention that either. What I did say was split coil, and that is straight from the documentation of Squier. Sure flats would sound different, I really like roundwounds though. Also gold anodized pickguards are beautiful, but I think I keep it like it is, to be honest, I think it looks great as it is.

Finally, a demo played with a bit of aggression! Sounds wonderful. I really need to get one of these.
Thanks!
Know what you mean. I get sick of hearing demos that are just funky jazzy and slap. Great demo and just the sound for an aggressive rock power trio.
I just like the way this cuts through the mix.

Nice work!

Never thought people would actually take notice, great to hear, thanks!
I have one, beautiful instrument, sounds great. 10 lbs. Looks pink.
Thank god I'm colour blind, you can tell me, this one is purple, I wouldn't know. 😊

Great review. By the way--did you/anyone notice any humming noise with this bass?
No, not really. Well lets say, it doesn't make any more noise, than my other passive basses. I do use grounded outlets in my closet studio.
Esse baixo é maravilhoso. Som poderoso e limpo. Construção impecável. Uma máquina. Nem parece um squier.
Na verdade, este é um ótimo baixo por seu preço.
What vocal effect are you using to lower your voice ?
Just the standard pitch shift effect in Reaper.
Have one and it's awesome!
Great! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
thanks , good video
Has anyone upgraded the pickups on one of these ??? Have the sunburst version. Thinking about upgrading to some seymour duncan pickups.
Get the pick up straight from Seymore Duncan, no sales tax, free shipping and factory fresh. Quarter Pound Jazz Bass, 4 String. Just do it.

Amen!
Just curious - you stated the pickup was a split coil - I believe it is in fact a single coil.

Sounds and looks good! I'm getting one next week!
Great! Have fun!

Better QC on Samick made than Cort factory.
Maybe if you all donate some money, I could check it out, to see if that's true 😋

Also, really nice bass. Imo many good Squires are a lot better than bad MIMs... ;-)
Cool
"Precision" refers to it being fretted, as opposed to the fretless double basses...
I'm not too sure what I díd say about it, but it probably was a lot of bs, right?. Or at least that's what I normally say 😁
@@neoland666 Haha, no, you're good - you caught the essence👍😊
junk you will end up putting p/ups tuners bridge, end up putting 400 in a 400 dollar crap guitar.so you might well buy a fender
Why drive a Ferrari to work, when a Daihatsu does the job just fine?
Yes, I will rather buy a Sire D at this price range with far more better quality.
This guy sucks
Lol. You still mad?
