- Another Sunday down the cellar. Sort of a slow day today, but slow is better than a dead stop.
BOILERPLA... ER, GENERAL INFO:
Tom, Deb, and Ob would like to thank everyone who have been kind enough to send in gifts. Seriously, you guys are just the best.
I'd like to thank each and every one of you who take the time to watch DtC, and am very grateful to everyone who takes even more time out of their day to comment. In a perfect world Tom or Ob would be able to engage with everyone in the comment section, but alas the world is far from perfect. Tom doesn't know how (and refuses to learn) and Ob is something of a Luddite.
FAQ & A:
Q: I have a burning question about something in the video! What should I do?!
A: An email sent directly to Tom is the best way to get your question answered, because while he most definitely reads each and every one of your comments, he hasn't quite gotten the hang of replying to them in the comment section, and is not likely to in the foreseeable future. Or ever. Seriously, he still calls RUclips "the U-TOOBZ".
Tom's personal email is: herrwittmann@gmail.com
You can also call him if you prefer (856-866-8733) between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM, EST. This may be slightly more difficult because he's forever running around away from his desk, but it's worth a shot.
Q: I have a amusing anecdote, scathing criticism, or heartfelt compliment that I deeply need to express and I require / demand / long for a personalized response! What should I do?!
A: See "A" above.
Again, Tom's email is: herrwittmann@gmail.com

Ob with the " how about freshening these drinks up first." Damn straight.
All you could hear in the background was Bob shaking the ice in his glass!
@Wittman - that plate @ 16:53 depicts the "Storming of Liege" that happened on August 7th 1914. And that's not a steel forge, it's a destroyed bunker with a solider standing atop it. What is unique and important about this battle is that it was the VERY FIRST opening battle of WW1 where Germany invaded Belgium and convinced the garrison there to surrender. However, the surrounding forts decided to fight, and this ended up costing the Germans many casualties. The German's then sent in heavy siege guns by rail and eventually destroyed these forts. Many of us are familiar with the term "Big Berthas" this term was coined in WW1. These were extremely heavy but mobile guns that weighted around 1,800lbs and could shoot a projectile up to 6 miles away. That is actually a really cool plate and fairly rare. If you can get a fair price on it, you should add it to your collection, if, that's something you collect.
Indeed! Tino von Struckmann visits those forts.
Another fine mess you've gotten us into OB, "Olly" I love it when the drinks flow and the Denobiles stay alight. Some real nice Items fellas, the stick pin collection is awesome, thanks to willy what a savvy collector he was, I had to go back to the start to verify that he had passed...R.I.P. good sir.
Your a good man for letting her drive the Corvette.
That will be the day!

Just woke up and put your new video on. To be hearing your wife come n say about the car. I've only just been able to get up off the floor. I've not laughed so much for ages. What a great start to the day Mr Whitman and Rob. Keep them coming, we love it in the UK. All the best Phil Colley.
Great stuff as always guys !
Hello Team Wittmann! I believe the plate (17:14) commemorates the Battle of Liege in Belgium. Another great video!
The pllate wiith blue' picture says , Erstürmung der Festung Lüttich' - ,Taking the Fortress of Liege'. I think the picture shows q Steelmade armoured gun cuppola, integrated into a concrete fortification Work after being bombarded by heavy siege artillry.
I miss the yellow chicken on the wall 🐔🐔
That chicken was a classic….the guy paid over $50.00 insurance on it…crazy!

Great video as always Gentlemen! Greetings from Germany
The plate depicts the remains of either a Belgium or French fort destroyed by the new imperial German army cutting edge super heavy artillery, the forts be built at the end of the 19th century proving now obsolete , having no steel reinforced concrete emplacements ,
Good production on this one Ob, and yes mr Whittman you have to go through a couple of them to understand the nonsense you’re getting into! Lol

Some stuff are real, but i saw fake too in this episode, realy sad!
What item?
@ dario8508.. Which item or items are fakes? Typical saying "it's fake" with no response or explanation on why. Please share your expert thoughts with everyone, oh knowing one. I'm asking for a friend, btw not me. 😅
Although not common mixed cap insignia did happen , plenty images of it being done , goggle Kurt meyer ( images ) is a good example however he has the first pattern skull and heer eagle ...
Veterans hat was really cool too.
Could the No. 20 stamp on the Forestry piece signify the Weimar Period? I believe they used in on reconditioned bayonets from the Imperial Era for use during the Republic. Just a thought…..
It is an assumingly civilian piece, such Hirschfänger had been carried by german/austrian hunters up to 1930s. Today they are no more carried when hunting, but sometimes as dressweapon during hunters ceremonies.
