at the first one, magnitude 2.0 is much more weaker than that… thats a 4.0

@@brickplayreplay If this was a typical American frame home, it is technically estimated around 5.5 to 6.4 on the MM scale if you consider damage to the MMI scale (around a VII (Very strong) on the MMI scale) then roughly convert it to the MM scale. So it is around 5,000 to 40,000 times more powerful than a 2.0 magnitude earthquake. 4.0 and 6.0 would be around 6.5 to 7.4 on the MM scale (VIII (Severe) on the MMI scale if considered damage) , and 10 would be around 7.0+ on the MM scale (X (Extreme) on the MMI scale if considered damage.)

@@brickplayreplay Actually, I was wrong. The strength of the shaking is more determined by how deep the hypocenter/focus of the earthquake is. That means aa 2.0 magnitude earthquake could do this amount of damage if it was very close to the surface. Real life examples is a 2.2 magnitude earthquake in England once had shaking of an average 6.5 magnitude earthquake. The hypocenter was only 1km underground. The closer the hypocenter is to the surface, the stronger the shaking is, no matter the strength of the earthquake.
