If you want to make a custom loop click the arrows where the 8 is, cue the start point, then just hit the out button where you want it to end until you get it
I wanted to ask if you have a video on how to process vinyl rips that don’t sit well in terms of BPM. Especially house ones from the 90s. Is there a way to get them to sit on the grid? Creating such a video would be good
Heya :) I play mainly on traktor s5 with all my cue and loop points pre stored. On occasions when I want the outro loop to engage automatically I click shift + click the loop button to make it “active” so the forthcoming outro loop engages and loops WHEN it gets there. BUT I don’t always use this (sometimes I don’t want to engage and let the tune play out normally. I do this as I play live Roland drums while I dj and the less to worry about the better in the dj software. Problem is when I play pro gigs on the pioneer gear (if they don’t let me setup my controller and laptop ect) having this same function either using a usb analyzed with rekordbox or plugging in the CDJs in HID mode with a hub or performance mode + link just to have my laptop library as a “HD” full of my playlists and loops. I’ve seen how u “pre” program these active loops in your video, but is there a way to do it on the fly to turn the active on/off? Especially if just using usb and link mode as then there is no “rekordbox software” to edit the “active on/off” pre stored outro loops there on the cdj..? (I transfer all my traktor loops and cues and info to rekordbox via rekordbuddy)
Is there a possibility that when we make an active loop on the rekordbox and put the track on the usb, that active loop will be read by the player without pressing the loop button again. This method works on a rekordbox, but I don't know if it works on a stand-alone usb controller. thank you
Very useful feature! But why can't you set an active loop in EXPORT MODE? This is where we do most prep work so it would make sense to be able to click the loop button to 'red' but you can't!!!
Hi there, I really like this idea but the issue I'm having is that it then sets the cue point as the start of the loop, so when I select a new track, it's starting from there rather than at the beginning of the song. It there a way to counteract this? Thanks
The Pioneer XDJ-RX2 correctly displays both the Cue Point, the Regular Loop and the Autoloop set by rekordbox. The first 2 (cue points and regular loops) I managed to create and store them in the USB pendrive directly from the XDJ-RX2, while the third (autoloop with red icon) did not. 😔
Yes, when I’m on the plane trip from the bedroom to the living room for my regular super private gig.😂
This kind of information (explanation) makes Rekordbox really, really, fun and useful. Straight to the point. Than ks

Amazing!!! It took me 30 minutes without result and your video simply explained it!!! Thank you
Thank you DDJ, I couldn’t find anyother videos on how to do this, but you prevailed. Thank you!!
I also put a marker 16 beats before the active loop as a reminder. Very useful.
Nice one Eric 👍
How do you set reminder?
Last Rhythm, what a classic! I also remember a lot of these old tunes had mixing breaks 3/4 thru them.. it was like "you mix here"
Lol true :)
Excellent!! Short and simple. Sorted for my Scratch practice today.
This was a GREAT tip! I will definitely be using this feature for MOSTA of my songs. 👍

Great tutorial, thank you.
You have a great knack for explaining, thank you!
You're welcome Dan :)
Will this work with cdj/xdj?

Can you do something similar in Serato?
Just what I was looking for 👍
Thank you so much!!! So easy! Wanted to loop some vocals :)
Glad to help!
A game changer, esp for deep techie shit
You can also set an active loop without using a cue point

an overlooked feature
Yeah it's very useful!
Very useful feature! But why can't you set an active loop in EXPORT MODE? This is where we do most prep work so it would make sense to be able to click the loop button to 'red' but you can't!!!
Nope, no word from Pioneer if it's something that will be added either at the moment
never knew this. thanks!
No problem!
Thanks!
No problem :)
thanks bro, liked and subscribed
Thanks for the support :)
This is also perfect for auto looping bongo samples which I downloaded as 8 and 16 bar samples.
True!

Thanks Phil. Do you if Pioneer will ever allow you to store multiple active loops for a track?
Cheers Tom - good question, don't know if they will
Thanks a lot, Phil! Really appreciate it.
You're welcome!
High Five my dude!!!
Glad to help :)
does it save this loop information in track info so even if i load the track on another PC it will have the loop info?
Have it also in virtual dj in the POI editor under: get_active_loop but it doesn't work anymore! I admit in Rekorbox, it's a lot easier to activate
Thanks good video. How do you carry this over to XDJ RX2? When I use my USB in the XDJ RX2, the loop doesn't go active? Does anybody know why?
Are you setting a memory cue or hot cue? One of them don’t translate over to CDJs I think it’s hot cues that don’t.
Hey Phil. I can't seem to toggle from orange to red. Iv checked my settings and everything is correct. Any ideas 💡 thanks mate

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how did you get the upgraded software? when I go to rekordbox dj it only has 5.3 version.
At the moment it is in beta - go to the Rekordbox forum to download it from there.
so how do you do this again on rekordbox 6, cuz I don't have a loop option?
Shouldn't be any different
I've saved active loops and cue points before and then when I've gone back to the track later they've disappeared? What am I doing wrong?
That shouldn't happen, and I'm not sure why!
a question you know something about the videos I can not make any folder
Hey William, not sure exactly, can you explain the issue in more detail?
How do you do this in Serato?
Don't think there's an easy way to do this in Serato
Why isn’t that little arrow showing up when I make the cue??? Idk where to find it either
