Hi man ! Than you for your video. Maybe you can help me solve a mystery I see almost no one tackle... Why are dj setting cue-point on begining of phrases and not, let's say 32 beats before those phrases start so they know when to mix in phrases.
I appreciate this channel. Thanks Bolo, funny how that’s my childhood nickname 🤣 keep them coming. Currently on the ddj 200, what do you recommend me moving onto next?
very cool, thanks for sharing! Do you lose the cue points when you "unload" the track...? does everything get flushed if you load two new tracks into the system?
Hi ! I have been watching your videos on Djing for a couple of years.I am from India. I use Pioneer's DDJ 1000 controller which comes with Rekordbox software. I usually play Bollywood remixes which are largely vocals with edm type beats. How I set my hot cues is....I put the 1st hot cue (coloured as blue) on the 1st beat of the song, then I put the 2nd hot cue (coloured as pink) where the chorus of the vocal begins. Followed by 3rd hot cue (coloured as blue) where the bridge section of the song begins, then the 4th hot cue (coloured as pink) where the verse of vocal begins…so on and so forth. The color instantly makes me know the content of the hot-cued parts of the song. For instance...blue for me stands for the beats...whereas pink for me is for vocals. Do let me know...how can I further improve setting up my hot cues.
5:51 i have a question i have the DDJ 400 hundred how can You do to change the page of the hot cues in your controller so instead of being ABCDEFGH it can also be IJKLMNOP?
Hi there, What if I use cue points to know where a song would start and where I should start the transition to the next song, for example in mix phrasing. Anything wrong with that?
no not at all there are so many ways to set up hot cues although I will say maybe save that idea for memory cues since you wont really "jump" towards those points instead you are most likely going to wait until you see that point come up and then trigger your next song in. So I'd suggest save hot cues for jumps and use memory cues for points ur waiting for. Another personal example from my side if I want to let my next song kick in at the end of my current song's drop I'll set 2 memory cues in that drop 1 is 32 beats before end of the drop second one is 16 beats before end of drop. And on track B I'll have 2 hot cues: 32 beats before end of intro and 16 beats before end of intro so imagine I am mixing and I see the first memory cue then I'll trigger the first hot cue on track B and if I miss the first one I'll still have my backup, but then I'll have less time to beatmatch etc... But I will say use hot cues to help your mixing style if you want to use them like you mentioned go for it no need to copy someone else find what fits for you and helps you the most! Best of luck
The problem with the B cue point is that it starts when Rihanna sings ""Music", after the "... don't stop the..." part. So the usage of this cue point is pretty limited.
Do hot cues get bakes into the info of the actual wav file? or if you were to take them on a usb and plug em into another computer, would they be there?
It's all about perfect timing. I sometimes struggle with it also. I just pause the song, use the jogwheel to go exactly to the point I need it and then set the cue.

Just bought one on your recommendation last week. They are epic. Crazy that they only $70!
Beat jump is also very useful when setting cue points
Very good point!
@@prodjacademypersonally I can’t believe you didn’t mention it brother 😂
Perfect video. Just got my first controller and RekordBox with zero DJ experience, so I'll be back to this channel a lot!

A video on how to use effects with the flx4 please. I find the color effects and loop effects, filter confusing as a noob.
We got you! Coming soon
Cheers for this, massive help this as to know the perfect points to set the cue points for intro and outro, thanks
Great advice as always!

It saves them to the song IME
Is there something I can do 2 stop delay I get when loading new track and have 2 press every button 2 stop that delay effect which is annoying

Is your quantize on?

He : If you use serato don't worry.
Excited me who use Djay pro on android.😂
Lol works on all DJ software!
Why when i set a queue point.... its not where i set it. It sets the queue point either ahead or behind
