I’m completely blind and your description in your video made it so that I was able to perform this repair on my wife’s Santa Fe. Saved me a bunch from not having to go to the dealership. I was even able to repair my mothers cobalt. Thanks for the great descriptive (emphasis on descriptive) videos.
2:34 Excellent video. While removing the pliers I dropped it behind the motor somewhere. So take extra caution when removing them. Great tip though! Thanks for making this video, it was really useful!
Glad the video was helpful to you! Not fun when your tool falls into the abyss. I have a few magnetic pickup tools that make fishing them out much easier. Here's a handy kit amzn.to/3L2pGZZ
Man, I missed this one! Stupid RUclips notifications. 😠 Always nice taking a peek under the hood of a car with weak struts ... then a gust of wind comes and drops the hood right on your head! Lost count of how many times that's happened to me, lol.🤣 I've used that brand before - good stuff. Brilliant minds think alike! Hope you're staying warm down there. It's friggin 17° here right now ... 🥶☹
The worst is when the vehicle is lifted on a lift and the vehicle is in the air and it slams down. Can scare the crap out of you not expecting it. Congratulations on views
Rick when that occurs most of the time it's due to a bad light bulb which is burned out. Next would be a short due to a broken wire of corrosion. I don't have a video on that. Let us know what you find!
Hyundai is telling me that there is a difference between a driver side and passenger side strut for my 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited. Different price as well. Aren't they the same on both sides?

That's awesome Gil! Glad the video was helpful and thanks for the comment!
Nobody likes a floppy hood! Nice info Glen, congrats on hitting over 10 million views!! 👍
Thanks!
With your detailed instructions Glen, I believe that I could do this job, and great work as always! Have a great week! 😊👍
Your a pro Terry!
Those hood struts are good ideas but when they fail they can be aggravating. Thanks for showing how easy they are to change out
Easy fix.

It's always a pleasure watching your video's Glen. Keep up the good work.
You are my inspiration. Thanks Dan
With the help of your video I just change the struts on my 2013 Hyundai Sonata. Thank you so much for the clear and well done video.
You're welcome!
No sir, we appreciate you for taking the initiative to make this video,
Respectfully,
Ravi Peiris M.D.
Thanks Dr. Peiris

Yeah I'm staying warm it a comfortable 26 degrees here. haha
@@ozzstars_cars Not much better! I've had enough of this winter crap, that's for sure. We hit 14° this AM!!
Good video Glen! Easy peasy, the kind of repairs I like!
Absolutely!
If replacing the hood with a identical hood from a salvage yard, would this be the same process to remove/install?
Thanks for an informative video. It made my job easier knowing what to do.
Good deal Vinny
Been doing alot of these lately. I'm tired of working under a hood that won't stay up 😫
It can be annoying and dangerous that's for sure.
What kind of grease do you use?
Really only need a drop size, so any grease will work.
10M 👍 I have done my fair share of hacks on struts 😅😅 replacement is a much better option. Take Care Glen
Doing it right or not doing it at all. Words of wisdom.
Great video and nice Vette
Thanks!

True that!
Great video!!! What kind of grease did you use? (so I can buy some)
Thanks Kevin. I used regular bearing grease but silicone grease would work just as well. Here's a link amzn.to/3MaWMGa
Hello Glen do you have a video for the same make, and model car when the turn signal light blinks fast?
Rick when that occurs most of the time it's due to a bad light bulb which is burned out. Next would be a short due to a broken wire of corrosion. I don't have a video on that. Let us know what you find!
Cool
Thank you, sir. You just saved me some money.
Good deal Berny, now I have to figure out how to make money. 😁
@@ozzstars_cars I agree. And you should definitely do so because your video is concise, informative, and straightforward.

Usually it's the brake line mount that's different. Left and right on different sides.
Hope all is well!
Hanging in there Terry. It's been a wild ride lately. Hope your doing good. 👍
Great video! Thank you
You are welcome David!
great video. Thanks.
Very helpful thank you!
You're welcome, thanks for stopping by.
Great tip!
Thank you
Nothing a pair of decent vice grips can’t stop.
🤣🤣
Good badic info. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
That’s what she said.
That's what she said!
She sure did. 😂
What happen when you accidentally release the hood latch while driving? It will block your view?
The safety latch should prevent that from happening.
clean up
9/10 Hyundai the struts are shot....
That's why I always keep one of these in my back pocket. LoL
