    I am a self taught mechanic of over 30 years in the field. Helping people save money and stay safe on the road is what I am here for. If I can pass that along in my videos, that would make me feel even more accomplished. I am rather old school and do not really do things by the book, for this reason, I do not claim to make "Instructional" videos. My videos are for entertainment purposes only. Please use safety and knowledge when doing your own repairs. ~ Ben - MegaMiles

      @MegaMilesBen  3 месяца назад

      @loga-nq9ti theres a cut-off point on the production date of the car. Itd probably be easiest to call the dealership and have them check by vin.

    If there's grinding marks inside the knuckle part with the cv axle goes in should we change the knuckle or if the cv axle was grading on the knuckle should we change the cv axle?

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  5 месяцев назад

      Without looking at that, itd be hard for me to say. It would also depend on where the grinding marks are and what the cause was.

    So for spindle since it doesn’t have the groove that the original one had does it matter or will I have to remove the groove from the original and put it on the aftermarket one

    Do you have to replace the wheel bearing with the assembly or can I get away with just replacing the hub assembly?

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  Месяц назад

      This one is a pressed bearing. Not a hub assembly. You have to remove the bearing from the knuckle and press a new one in.

  • @dans8617
    @dans8617 3 месяца назад +1

    Great video. Why did you change the hub ?

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  3 месяца назад

      I show at the beginning how wobbly it is.

    • @jeffb1886
      @jeffb1886 3 месяца назад +1

      It’s a lot easier to just replace the hub than to try and remove the race from the old one. Waaayyy too much effort required.

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  3 месяца назад

      @jeffb1886 theres tricks to getting it off. Heating it while spinning the hub usually makes it drop off.
      It is much easier to just replace it. You gotta figure by the time it gets replaced, some new lug studs wouldnt hurt anyway. Im sure the old ones are stretched and getting weak.

  • @joeygunzilla6878
    @joeygunzilla6878 Год назад +1

    btw was that the limited 4dr trim? do you know the correct part for the hub assembly?

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  Год назад +1

      This particular hub part # is listed at 22:09. It is a separate hub and bearing that need to be pressed together durring install, not an assembly.

    Wyh didn't you put tie rod on before the rotor and caliper

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  6 месяцев назад +1

      Because it allows me to turn the knuckle for better access to the caliper bracket bolts. Cones in really handy on some cars.

      I do in some of my newer videos if I see a need. Im a very low talker and a lot of people cant hear me in person anyway. Its been like that all my life.
      I dont make instructional videos, more of quick guides for those that dont want to sit through all the talking. My videos originally started to show my clients my work and a lot of people liked them so I started listing torque specs and socket/wrench sizes.
      What did you need to know? Maybe I can help.

      @@MegaMilesBen nothing in general because i do a lot of repairs myself, i was just referring to the ones that never have done that work what they need to look for and what to remove to get to certain things or part .
      I like the original tools no impacts lol

      @@MegaMilesBen ya I picked up a 1/2 inch dewalt to do this exact job just yesterday. I used the bearing press kit when it’s on the car. I don’t have a big press. But that Dewalt was heavy as hell LOL. That Hercules made easy work of those fasteners and it looks as light as a 1/4 inch drive gun. Nice. I’ll check them out
