Her voice is so gentle, yet with boldness.
Absolutely. I concur
You gotta be hard to be this soft if that makes sense
Yes.
I thinks she is very attractive.... Elegant and gentle... thank you Maya!
I agree
Her interviews with Mavis were always wonderful. A very remarkable and beautiful woman and soul ❤️
Maya is so beautiful! Inside and out
She radiates a beauty and peace that no woman I can think of..She actually got more beautiful every day ....she evolved into an inspiration for all females
I agree with you
I love this lady so much, her voice just commands attention. I think Mavis was in awe of her.
Honestly. Mavis is the Best interviewer! She gets so immersed in the interview. It's more like a simple conversation with an old friend.
That is so true
What an incredible woman she was ❤️
Maya IS a fantastic human being!
What a voice! So eloquent with such poise. Schools should include her in their curriculum as opposed to just during black history month.
👍🙏I’m so grateful and thankful that I had the chance to meet her and have a conversation with her in 2001. She was legendary while she was alive and most certainly so with her passing in 2014. 🙏🤗
Mavis asks great questions, I was really paying attention to get and I can feel her passion her curiousity.
I disagree. She seem to focus on killing Maya's mood & bring her spirits down, at the same time declaring her deep seated jealousy for her successes.. Maya shines though. Not a caged bird for sure.
Tony Austen Hush up Tony. Mavis is always respectful.

@@tonyausten2168 I don't know if you're from the UK or not, but Mavis was a very very respected and well-known interviewer. She also interviewed people like Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, Nina Simone, Bette Davis, Liz Taylor and many other incredible people. So it's doubtful that she was "jealous". Did she always get things spot on? Probably not, but when you compare her to interviewers today, it's hard not to feel that something has been lost over time.
@@tonyausten2168 omggggg I've never seen such a passive aggressive creature in my life😂😂😂😂
Dear God, I am so grateful for these interviews
Two truly great women who truly excelled in their fields.
I have mentally adapted her as my mom
Me too!
This was before my time and I've only just discovered Mavis, she's brilliant interviewer, so smart and genuinely curious about her guests, that makes for great interviews.
I do love her for so many things. I’ve been inspired to read, read, no more procrastinating, and get consistent with my thoughts, my vision. I must keep my faith in Our Father and believe in what has been put within side of me. Ty… to such an amazing Lady..
I like Maya=love. She always talks about the power of love.
Her, Baldwin, and Toni Morrison
Maya Angelou is so powerful and inspiring, and as Mavis says, magnetic. I wonder if the Oracle in The Matrix was modelled on Maya. And Mavis Nicholson was such a brilliant and authentic interviewer.
I love Maya Angelou so much. She’s my northern star.
National treasure.
Mavis trying her best to “disturb the peace” and Miss Maya Owning the disturbance 👑 Her voice.. her stance.. “I
Know it”… she says and takes a sip of her 🥃 ❤️
'I'm as vulnerable and fragile as the last raw egg in the world.'
now that is precarious
Two beautiful and intelligent women.
Modesty is dangerous
The best quote
Dr Maya has wisdom
Wise women 🙏🏽👑.
Her and James have similar speech intonations. Very soothing ones.
What a terrific woman. Brave, bold, wise and very beautiful.❤
3:47 Amazing wisdom on the difference between modesty (dangerous/harmful) and humilty (beneficial/liberating)
I’m always scared. I’m always nervous.
💙
Let me be honest, and try to be brave.
The interviewer❤
Maya🎉🎉❤
I’ve never been so obsessed with another person before
Modesty is elusive, the moment you realize you have it, you don’t.
Those "mmm's" Maya says when Mavis says "you even changed your country" ...
''what i have is Bravado''
now I know the difference, they thought you were brave but no.
I felt exactly the same. John
Thank you, Maya ... humble, but not modest. RIP. and love from Denmark
She's Regal
Love her! #2020
🙏🏼✨🙏🏾
14:00 what did she say , anyone?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh wooow a tsotsi
I feel like Mavis is fucking this up; Maya is amazing & she deserves to be heard without interruption
It’s a conversation you idiot.
R.I.P
it says 1984 in the title but in the description it says 1987?
Domine Wimbury facts dont matter as much, but the truth does 😊
@@M.N23 the fact is the Truth.
4:00 THIS IS A GREAT LIFE LESSON
Curious why she insists on calling Maya "Middle Class" when clearly her economic status is above this. Although, I think I know the answer....
do br hear! hear!
This is thought provoking ‘-middle class will betray u’ ! And when she said that so bluntly .. brutal? Real? Spark of ...
🤔This Mavis woman, the interviewer, who seems to have been a friends to Maya, seems to me like she tries to act like Barbara Walters....speaking of which....why didn’t Barbara Walters ever interview Maya Angelou (or did she? Maybe I missed it) 🤔
You’re an idiot. Mavis is British, and Barbara Walters is American.
@@BLTKellys nailed it 👌👏 🤣😂🤗 teach the 🤬😝😝😝😝
Mavis was always very much herself, and didn’t need to be like anyone else. I love the interviews between these two, such mutual affection and respect.
She is victim of rape. I can not believe the interviewer asked about her marriages. Ignorant interviewer. Love Maya. She is My Hero.
Shut up, Mavis is a great.
Second watch, I don't like the way the interviewer talks to Maya
