I felt this today. She is amazing in the way she voices the human condition.@@colzypeace2753

Why wouldn't she not be respectful or dignified? I don't know why white people use those words or phrases when referencing us. As if we are incapable of such. It's not a compliment . You might as well use "for a black person at the end of the sentence ." So, give so thought as to why you use that term when addressing our brilliance. ✌🏾
As a white male I've spoken with many people, read many books and watched many documentaries and movies to try and educate myself on the plight of the black slave throughout US history. I can’t tell you many times I have rewatched this. She is an excellent storyteller . When she spoke about what love is, I had to pause and rewind that because when you understand what she said as simply as she said it , it hits you so hard . Love is when you can be seen in the most vulnerable and dehumanized and still assure the survival of another human being; that is love! When I heard that, I heard love is sacrifice . When God gave his only son , he sacrificed him. When Jesus died on the cross in the most dehumanize and vulnerable way, yet he sacrificed himself for human beings. To continue in order to achieve anything you must first sacrifice something rather it’s time, yourself, or something or someone . Love starts with sacrifice.
"the mask" was surely a surreal kick in the face, made me really understand what it was like to hide behind a laugh but really pain and tears were hiding on the inside, i laughed with her but then it wasnt funny as the laugh was there to hide the pain then it turned to tears..... such an amazing woman you are maya and always will be xx

To be able to reach many with words. To understand life and share so that others may. God sure gives us gifts. She was a gift to this world. God's speed Maya...I hope to one day we meet, not today or tomorrow tho...lol

2021 I can’t stop watching this incredible woman
What a woman.
