Hey Matt - I’m a new subscriber. Loving your videos so far. This particular video is at a location that I was at in October 2023. Very peaceful - like you I was the only camper there. The land owner was great and even brought me firewood since he saw I was limited being on a motorcycle. I did not record my time there since I’m still fairly new at motorcycle camping. Your videos are inspirational. I particularly enjoy your words of encouragement being early on in my Christian journey. Please keep going with the videos!
Thanks for the encouragement. I am glad you found that spot as well! Overlanding on a motorcycle! What kind of tent and cooking supplies do you use? Like a backpacker?
Basically, yes. Moto camping requires that you constantly evaluate weight vs usefulness of your gear and continuously refine your kit. As an example, I use a Lone Rider Adv tent (my 2nd tent purchase). For cookware, I use a set from Sweden - Trangia.
Just subscribed …. Awesome camping video….God, studying the Word, enjoying the quietness of God’s creation and thankful for all He did to save us! Waiting for the next one! Really nice additions of music in different sections of the video!!!!
@@rubiconmatt tent ⛺️ camping in MS! just starting out and getting some camping stuff ready for a little better weather (got a North Face Wawona 6 tent, camp chef cook top, Coleman cot with a VenBivy MotoBed and pad, camp chair, etc.) …. Haven’t been in many, many, years and then only a few times! One of the things I look forward to the most is the quiet time with God’s Word! I am interested in the Gazelle T4 tent so going forward it is on my mind …. The Wawona tent with the vestibule should be nice in the rain but the T4 is in consideration!
Thanks for watching. It sounds like you are putting together a good set of equipment. The quiet time in the morning is my favorite with God! Enjoy your time when you start going out! God Bless!
Glad to see you post the new video. I look forward to your videos. I like all camping but giving a choice I would always pick something more remote. Thanks for sharing your camping experiences and the word.
I can remember when you had 500 subscribers. I have found that some of the Hip Camps aren't as advertised. You have found a nice quiet location. Smaller tents are better to stay warm in , my dog puts off a lot of heat 😂. The Gazelle is nice with the buddy heater on low , and after warming , I turn it to pilot only. I have purchased a little Fire Maple Sunflower Stove also . It is 3000 and 6000 btus and 1/8 th the size of a buddy heater. I love being out in nature , just God ,Star and I. That is a nice saw
I love that saw! It really works well, I agree about the smaller tents, but prefer my Gazelle so I can stand up in it, makes things easier. I like your idea of just using the pilot on Buddy, I will try that. Thanks for watching and keep pressing on! Gob Bless!
The coldest I did was 16 Degrees, on my S5:E5 dispersed camping video. I was prepared! When I first started my videos on RUclips 2/2019 I had a tent only and not low temp sleeping bags and it got down to 18 degrees. But ai made it through. I learned a lot.
Thanks, yes I do have a large tarp and have used it recently when I camped in the Appalachian mountains. Just did not make a video of the trip. Thanks for watching !
Matt, I love your videos. I’ve been looking forward for an updated one. You’re truly an inspiration and I appreciate you sharing your quiet time with us. What kind of saw are you using?
Looks like a great spot. I live in northeast Ohio and would be interested in a meet up. I am also a quiet religious person that enjoys getting away from noisy campgrounds.
Hey Matt, have you explored any of the diesel heater options instead of the Buddy? Dry heat, so no condensation or potential ice. Might be worth exploring, they are relatively inexpensive.
They use electricity from a battery to keep going is that correct? How much does it use in a night of electricity? I am looking forward to winter camping and would consider using one. Any brand you recommend for a tent? Is it noisy? Thanks for watching and hope we can work it out to all get together for a meet up!
They pull about 150 W for about four minutes while the glow plug heats up. Once the heater is ignited and running, the battery shows about 15 W being pulled. I did a lot of research and noticed that some of the units out there have a loud fuel pump that ticks or they can leak diesel. The one I ended up getting is from LF Bros and it is the N2 model. It is super quiet, has an automotive style gas cap so it won’t leak in the back of my Bronco, and it was relatively inexpensive. Plus, it kind of looks cool. No affiliation, just personal research.
MEET UP POSTPONED DUE TO FIRE/FLAME BAND!!! Please try to get refunded. I spoke to the Burr Oak Park Ranger today and he said ALL (Anything) that has a flame (jet boil, lighter, stove, propane anything, anything that creates a flame/spark, etc.) is band right now due to the drought. This band he told me is in effect until we get at least five inches of rain. So with that much rain needed (which I do not see coming), I spoke to a couple other folks signed up and we all agreed, we should postpone until we get the green light, then schedule something. I like cold weather camping anyways! I am sure sorry this did not work out, but we will put something on the calendars once the band is lifted. Please confirm back you got this in the comment section. God bless and stay strong in the Lord!

You might consider bringing along a tarp over the end of the jeep to keep you dry while cooking. Also you could sit unner it to eat it it's drizzling

Nice to get another great video from ya!! Thanks for taking the time to video it. A meet up would be great.
Hope to plan something in February. Cold weather camping! Got to love it!
Hey Matt! Fellow Ohio Christian here. Love your videos and adventures. Do you ever camp/overland/explore with others?
Yes, but I normally get to meet people and get to know them during a meet-up in a large group and then see how things go. Keep pressing on! God Bless!
Good video and nice light. I have to get one. Don't forget about the Polar Vortex. Don't go camping. We want to see you live in the next video.
thanks for watching! I will have to look out for that! God Bless!
Great video love to join the meet up. Ever been to Tar hollow state park? It is a beautiful park.
Check out my video S2:E3 that is at Tar Hollow and S2:E5. Each time I went I was the only camper there. Have you been?
Yes I like that state park also Scioto trails is nice and they have service roads that you can overland on.
Matt, I love your videos. I’ve been looking forward for an updated one. You’re truly an inspiration and I appreciate you sharing your quiet time with us. What kind of saw are you using?

Same here from central OH….the wife doesn’t enjoy camping so looking for the right crowd. Please post the next meet up.
Would definitely be interested in joining up if you put something together, definitely keep us in the loop
Matt has to be careful about people that he does not know. Nothing personnel.

Hello Matt, When is your next adventure?
Have a busy May-Unfortunately. I have been backpacking tho. I am going for a couple day overlanding trip in June. Have a strong day with the Lord!
Was this a free camping location or did you have to pay to camp? Thanks for sharing brother.
I paid to get onto it. Thanks for watching! God Bless!
What table do you have on your tailgate......also we'd be down for a meetup at a place like this
IT is the OutBack. It has worked perfectly and has a bamboo cutting board. I have had it for 5 years. Thanks for watching.
I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the information.

This was a small lake on land NE of Columbus. It is a Hipcamp site. Thanks for watching.
Matt, which rock slider are you using? Do you like them? Any issues?
The rockslides came as standard equipment on my Rubicon Hard Rock. So it is a factory brand. Yes, I do like them a lot!
