    A lead acid battery lasts one use and then it can go to the scrapyard. These things should have something build in to generate all that electricity used, and they use a lot of electricity!

      That is a major downfall of the diesel heater versus a propane setup. I have a duel deep cycle battery setup being trickle charged by solar while I’m out. So far so good!

      При запуске они большую нагрузку от аккумулятора берут при выходе на рабочий ход не очень много

      Agreed. The startup process definitely pulls from the battery but once it’s warmed up it’s a lot better.

    Great Video! Makes me want to go Winter Camping. Love the trailer setup - off to see if I can find a build video. ;-)

      Thank you! Winter camping is a lot more doable with a solid heat source. I do have a trailer build series on my channel. Check it out!

    Great video I have been thinking about the diesel heaters just don't know if I want to get that deep into it though lol😂

      For essentially the same price as a Mr Buddy heater, I think it’s a solid option.

    Any worries of the ducting from the diesel heater melting your tent or catching it on fire? I saw a video that the heat coming out of those are around 250°F or so at the heater. Curious if the ducting got very hot up near your tent.

    • @TrailExpedition
      @TrailExpedition  Год назад

      The ducting does get warm, however, the tent fabric held up completely fine. Not sure if that would be the case for every tent.

    What do they call that type of hitch?

    • @TrailExpedition
      @TrailExpedition  10 месяцев назад

      It’s called a Lock N Roll articulating hitch. Better for pulling trailers in off camber situations.

    I've been waiting on a decent snow... to try out my diesel heater.
    But at the same time.. I don't have a 4-season tent... so that might be problematic. LOL.

    • @TrailExpedition
      @TrailExpedition  Год назад +1

      Dude, those things cook! I had it on the low setting and still stayed warm.

      @@TrailExpedition I have the 8kw short one... I'm wanting to use it so bad

    • @TrailExpedition
      @TrailExpedition  Год назад +1

      @trailtothevoid I only have the 5kw and it’s more than enough.

    • @trailtothevoid
      @trailtothevoid Год назад +1

      @@TrailExpedition I always go overboard. Lol. It was actually cheaper than the 5kw when I bought it.

    • @TrailExpedition
      @TrailExpedition  Год назад +1

      @trailtothevoid yeah man, if it’s cheaper it’s a no brainer. It’s nice that the heater and our trucks share a fuel source.

    I am super concerned about the diesel heater with the fabric of the tent!! I would be super cautious of that. I honestly don't think that I could sleep a wink, It's a little worrisome in my opinion. Just saying

    • @TrailExpedition
      @TrailExpedition  Год назад

      That was a concern of mine as well. That is why I ran it on high for several hours before going to bed. Just wanted to keep an eye on it. After I established the fabric was completely fine, I kicked it down to its lowest setting and went to bed. Those dryer hoses are made to handle the heat.
