My coworker has one for work and puts on 3000-4000 miles a month on it. He’s averaging over 24mpg and sometimes gets over 28mpg on some highway trips. This thing is great! And that propower onboard comes in handy on job sites.
Real disappointment they axed the availability of the hybrid on the base model. Would also like to see a 2.7 PB to try and go for that maximized efficiency approach.
@@LafemmebearMusic the 2.7 is more efficient than the non-hybrid 3.5 Ecoboost, so stands to reason it could also be more efficient than this hybrid if given the same components.
I wonder if the 2.7 isn’t as good at long term idle, or isn’t as efficient at very low load; seems like a fairly easy modification since the components are all after the engine\in the transmission, so I can’t see why Ford hasn’t released that option yet unless it just didn’t work as well as needed in some metric. Physics would say a 3.5 at idle would use more gas then a 2.7 at idle (where the PB spends a significant portion of it’s ProPower time at) unless it idles lower, but it would be interesting if that turned out to be false due to the 3.5 having more time to be refined and improve idle performance.
@@Cloud30000 I think it’s more to do with pricing and marketing and maybe production capacity. A 2.7 Powerboost would be more expensive than the standard 3.5 Ecoboost, yet not have as much power or torque on paper. Even if it was popular and people were willing to pay for it, Ford may not want the cannibalization of other models, or they may not be able to keep up with the demand (not dissimilar to how they limited the Maverick hybrid to fwd only initially).
I honestly think that ford should have kept the 3.0 power stroke F150 and just added the hybrid and the fuel economy would be through the roof ms the capability
It's a rolling brick and the hybrid powertrain doesn't do much without regen to help. Only way you're getting that mpg is diesel, but then you have to deal with diesel cost and maintenance.

Cool tailgate flex and bed utility power⚡️
Still the king, can't wait for Ford new Ranger PHEV to hit the market here in Europe ❤❤

The 2.7 would more efficient with this setup why? Curious what your logic there is.

Definitely getting some “work” done when the shifter goes down 😉

Crazy how a cybertruck has better turning radius than this!
All that money for no bedliner?
😅 oh you said that too?
The front clip looks like a truck from many years ago.
It is not one of the best selling in America, it is the best selling in America.
PERIODT! I had to cover my base with the “one of the…” statement… but technically I’m still not wrong! 1st place is a place!
$200k?

25mpg combined for a full size truck is crazy
A full sized Ram 4x4 gets 24 mpg highway with gas only. And with a much lower price to purchase a little more fuel.

That is horrible should be 35 combined 25 city 30 highway the mpgs suck

@@hawkstringfellow how does 35 combined make any sense when 25 city and 30 highway are mentioned..?
