Other new’ish channels, like Misha, which drives people’s cars on the Nurburgring, has over 1M subs now, and his videos are very easy to make in comparison. I just don’t get it
Chief engineer “Let’s build a Subaru but better than Subaru” Intern “Will people be able to afford it?” *board room laughs Chief engineer “Of course not” Joking aside im so excited this exists🥇
What a fantastic idea. I love the offload rally trend going on. As our roads and infrastructure collapse and roads deteriorate, vehicles like this make more and more sense. Im still waiting on my shelter green ranger raptor which is currently in production, so I can't wait to join the off road fun
As someone who lives in a rural, relatively poor area in northern IL, agreed completely. My ATS-V does not do well on the roads around here as cool as the car might be. It's comfortable on smooth roads, but the roads here are unfathomably rough. A car like this that is still very much a sportscar, but with longer travel suspension and a cushier ride is very fitting.
@anthonyantoine9232 i live in the northeast and we have a very similar situation here. In 2013 I had a new A5 and it looked amazing, it was a great car on smooth roads, handled winters well, but when the roads got rough I was driving a pothole slalom. 7 tires and a few years later I got rid of it, and refuse to get another car with low profile tires as a daily driver.
You guys are so consistent and I really love this channel. Humble and excellent. You set the standard for American reviewers in my opinion. No British accent necessary for credibility. 😁
I want one of these more than anything Porsche has done since maybe the Carrera GT? I didn’t lust for the 918 even tho I liked it more than the P1 or La Ferrari. Maybe the 997 GT3. But the Dakar is like the perfect all year sports car. Perfect.

While 5 N fanboys/bots still have their asses smoking from Friday video, here comes what they so largely feared - another Porsche video! Mark - well played, Sir!
Yup just look at their excitement compared to them being in EVs. When watching a car review that's always more important to notice then what's actually said.
I'm from Mexico and here it is the only sports car that makes sense. Lot of us like sports cars, but we don't want their ground clearance headaches. That's why we end up with SUVs. Here we have plenty of speed humps and our back roads are full of crappy asphalt and potholes. Even the average mall parking stops are high enough to destroy your front bumper.
Okay okay okay...it's obviously not intended to be a rock crawler or a river crosser or anything more severe like that. It's meant for hauling ass on dirt/gravel roads/trails and the like, such as would be found on rally race courses. So you need more clearance/travel than a regular street car of course, but you don't need to match a modded/lifted Wrangler on 40" tires.
@maestroadam I feel they kept it plastic to make buyers purchase the very expensive metal skid pad. Another crazy Porsche part option package. Pay more for less or when it shouldn't be necessary. Still love them.
I’ve dreamt about cars like these. I bought a Supra thinking, BajaSupra??? But the shop I talked said we’d have to redesign a bunch to get what this car already delivers. Said I’d never trade it for a Porsche but I guess I just needed to find the right Porsche!!
My dream car! The roads around my area are terrible. And I’m not an SUV kinda guy…. This is just perfect. I think if Audi would make the Allroad in an S or RS version, that could be a good poor man’s Dakar. Audi 🙏.
