Also, you may need a medical test and a license depending on country and use. I guess you could do that to drive a EV hummer, but would you bother?

I was talking with a guy who owns one. He said he hasn't been able to drive it for months because his wife backed her car into it, and it needs some kind of clip to fix the body damage, but GM hasn't made any replacement clips. So...I guess he has a literal 10,000 lb paperweight.
If it's like every other gm I'm sure the 10x types they already produce would suffice. So it's like older hummers where no one has the replacement parts so you have to improvise with other GM products to repair it 😂
Too bad you reviewed the 2024 model, the 2025 has the roof noise pretty much gone. Test drove both and oh my what a difference. I believe there’s a service bulletin for the ‘24 models to mitigate the noise too.

If you drive it hard probably short lived. I've seen pictures of cybertruck tires trashed at 6500 miles, looks like the owner was often accelerating hard and taking turns fast in that heavy vehicle.
The creaking rattling roof panels are currently being resolved by a new washer setup you can take the truck in to have done. Reports are it no longer rattles.
I respect GM for coming out with a crazy new platform, I just hope they continue to refine it and improve it over the years because I think there's some potential here

I was getting my C8 Corvette serviced and noticed my local dealer has 4 Hummer EV SUV's literally gathering dust outside. The tri-motor one has a $15k discount written in washable marker on the windshield, like used car dealer trying to get people's attention. If it was half the price, it *might* be worth it ... until I noticed the wide-body E-Ray sitting next to it for less money ... 🤤
I've been driving around the truck version for a couple days now. Stupid is the appropriate description. It spent over 20 hours on a level 2 charger to get from 28% to 82%. The main road through our town is currently stripped for paving and it made the most ridiculous amount of noise I've ever heard. The transitions from stripped pavement to old pavement would slam the suspension worse than my lowered GT86. I was kinda shocked that a vehicle with so much of everything underneath could ride so freaking hard and loud. It does buzz your butt a lot too.
It was very hyped up when it came out, but everyone who wanted one already got one... Pretty limited customer base. Just like the cybertruck, you don't need to wait to get one anymore.
As someone who's seen every episode of (OG) Top Gear and Gran Tour (of course), I can say you meet their bar of automobile entertainment and chemistry. I look forward to Throttle House videos making it to main stream TV!
There’s a TSB (THAT THEY STILL DON’T PERFORM AT THE FACTORY A YEAR AND A HALF AFTER EXISTING) for rubber washers that fix the roof creaks they will only perform if you complain. It’s fixable but it’s unfathomable they don’t just do it on every truck at the factory instead of requiring you complain about it.
I’m going to buy one used once I have the money to do so. I can’t imagine owning any other ev aside from the Audi etron line. This represents what GM should have been building since day one. Whether it’s ICE or EV. They can make something supreme. I would say they need to offer a hybrid version for those of us who are infrastructure deficient.

Well, the claim will be said from opposite side of screen…just noticed that there are two things EV’s are having us take the loss on; burn out & abilities to learn how to become a good controlled in-tuned drivers. They are getting rid of our burn out!!! Tire smoking ain’t that bad for you, and there have been no cases of second hand smoke damage either. Just pleasure. And how will drivers learn to understand how to control a slide or loss of control in inclement weather and conditions. The computers ain’t always best or right when the unexpected jumps into your lane. Not to mention the awesome drifts for fun that are earned. Earned James! BMW video plays lol (I think(lol))

I can say here in the Detroit area these Hummer SUVs are popping up everywhere. Could be manufacturer cars driven by GM employees but they are everywhere here.
At some point with the Huge EV SUV's we are going to need a CDL to drive them because they are so heavy. I do find it amazing how long it takes to get into the different modes. Wow. Most of those will only be a boulevard cruiser, but even then, how far off-road would you be willing to take that before range anxiety kicks in?

We test drove this recently, but the road noise and the clicking and creaking was no bueno. Not when you are paying so much for a car. This may work for some just not us. GM needs to do better imo.

When the video started I thought they were doing some kind of forced perspective or some editing trick. The Hummer looked so monstrously big with the two of them standing near it.
What I don't understand is that this is a much much larger vehicle than the Lucid, yet the Lucid produces so much more HP and torque. I'd expect a larger vehicle like this to be at least on par with HP and Torque if not have more! Especially considering I'd assume this vehicle has a lot more room to put bigger batteries and larger motors than the Lucid does? Or am I not making any sense?
People should keep in mind that the Hummer is a specify car. Just like the Ford Rapture or the RAM T-rex. Its not meant to be transportation for the rank and file.
LOL, After he mentioned the echo, I couldn't not hear it after that. EVs are interesting. They are so quiet that I think that forces the engineers to a higher degree of interior noise muffling from squeaks and bangs otherwise not heard from the engine/transmission noise in a normal ICE vehicle. I bet if you stuck your butt in an H1 and were somehow able to drive it around without that noisy engine, that thing would be making a horrible racket.

Once the Cybertruck came out, the extremeness/ awesomeness stupidness of the Hummer EVs has diminished a good bit, in my opinion.

People should keep in mind that the Hummer is a specify car. Just like the Ford Rapture or the RAM T-rex. Its not meant to be transportation for the rank and file.
LOL, After he mentioned the echo, I couldn't not hear it after that. EVs are interesting. They are so quiet that I think that forces the engineers to a higher degree of interior noise muffling from squeaks and bangs otherwise not heard from the engine/transmission noise in a normal ICE vehicle. I bet if you stuck your butt in an H1 and were somehow able to drive it around without that noisy engine, that thing would be making a horrible racket.
Was going to buy one until I saw how crappy they are. So I restored a 2005 and put a Duramax in it. Total weight is 7000 lbs. I love it.
