Hello I have 4 juwels 1 t bar and 1 bn pleco. Today 2 of my juwels layed eggs but I suspect that my t bar has a fin rot issue. He is full of energy eating and even chasing some of the other fish. yesterday my black moor was nipped a couple of times on all of his fins, not severely but you could see the damage. i rehomed the fish nipping him but the bits on his fins that are nipped are starting to go white. i am panicking because i love this fish to pieces, i also cannot put him in a quarantine tank as i only have one tank, would treating him in the tank with other fish cause them harm?

Why are you changing 100% of the water? You should definitely not be doing this as this only further stresses the fish and does not get rid of the opportunistic bacteria such as Aeromonas that cause fin rot. I added three tiny (~0.5in) ember tetras to join the five in my ten gallon with my betta. Within two days, I noticed what appeared to be ick on the added fish. So, I cranked up the temperature to ~83°F from its typical 78°F. After one day of treatment, I noticed that my betta's tail had some small chunks missing. Today (two days later), it is pretty bad and I think it has some fin rot. The water parameters, aside from the temperature, are similar to how they've been the past six months that I've had the betta. Could the ember tetras be fin nipping him? I haven't noticed any fin nipping behavior from the neither the established ones nor the new ones. Thoughts?
Could be, but you could also be dealing with a secondary infection, which by increasing temperature increases the risks there of. I strongly urge you to read the AAP article about Fish Ich in full for the optimum way to treat Ich and prevention secondary infection. In the mean time I suggest isolating the Tetra with a breeder net to prevent others from harming this Tetra

I don't know if your fish is in a tank or a bowl. What if your fish is in a fish bowl it might be helpful to change water by keeping 50-75% of the water on the top, swish.. rinsing and dumping the water on the bottom. A lot of people don't think about changing fish water from the bottom and they just change it from the top. The top of the water holds a lot of beneficial bacteria. What ended up being wrong with your fish?

Is the tank properly cycled? Maybe you should separate her from the place so you can treat her alone if cycling is not the problem and you need to use other methods to treat her.

We had well water which now I have city water. I do use conditioner. But as a kid we just used well water on underground filters and the fish did great. Now fish just drop dead overnight. They are to sensitive and weak now. Biggest problem in the old days was ICK. Who are the best fish breeders that care about the fish they breed and not just the Buck they get. I know and heard fish genetics are all messed up from over breeding the same lines of fish all the time.

The first few months are the worst part, that's when you get most issues. Once the tank is established you shouldn't get problems. Just treat/quarantine any new fish before putting them in the main tank. In 1.5 years I've only had 3 fish die and only because 2 of them were already ill when I got them.
Hey! I’m hoping I can get an answer. I have a standard goldfish (although it’s all white). One day I noticed that it’s pectoral fins looked really small compared to my other goldfish’s pectoral fins. Then I noticed that my white fish didn’t have anal, ventral, or dorsal fins. I knew this couldn’t have always been because I would have noticed when I bought it. I also noticed that it had what looked to be remnants of a dorsal fin. Well now I look and there’s not even remnants anymore. I just noticed yesterday that it’s tail seems to be a little jagged looking. What is causing this? How did these go away and what should I do? I appreciate any help you can give me!

Test your water first. You most likely have an imbalance in your water quality. Put this fish in quarantine and treat for tail and fin rot. Furval 1 and kanaplex as directed

100% water changes will get rid of all the good bacteria your fish need, making your tank become uncycled, so definitely don’t do this.

My PH in my water is low and I bought some PH leveling gravel to bring it up .CaribSea Coraline Aquarium Gravel. Not delivered yet. I also have problems with Ammonia and I do water changes every 4 days. I am tired of doing water changes so frequent, so I also bought some ammonia Remover, White Diamond Zeolite removes toxic ammonia for a healthier aquatic environment. Not delivered yet. I am in a learning process with this hobby. So far disappointed. When I was a kid now 65 I never had these problems and my fish lived long and healthy. Platies ,Swords ,Angels ,Corys and Guppies. We had well water which now I have city water. I do use conditioner. But as a kid we just used well water on underground filters and the fish did great. Now fish just drop dead overnight. They are to sensitive and weak now. Biggest problem in the old days was ICK. Who are the best fish breeders that care about the fish they breed and not just the Buck they get. I know and heard fish genetics are all messed up from over breeding the same lines of fish all the time.

The first few months are the worst part, that's when you get most issues. Once the tank is established you shouldn't get problems. Just treat/quarantine any new fish before putting them in the main tank.
In 1.5 years I've only had 3 fish die and only because 2 of them were already ill when I got them.
Hey! I’m hoping I can get an answer. I have a standard goldfish (although it’s all white). One day I noticed that it’s pectoral fins looked really small compared to my other goldfish’s pectoral fins. Then I noticed that my white fish didn’t have anal, ventral, or dorsal fins. I knew this couldn’t have always been because I would have noticed when I bought it. I also noticed that it had what looked to be remnants of a dorsal fin. Well now I look and there’s not even remnants anymore. I just noticed yesterday that it’s tail seems to be a little jagged looking. What is causing this? How did these go away and what should I do? I appreciate any help you can give me!

Test your water first. You most likely have an imbalance in your water quality. Put this fish in quarantine and treat for tail and fin rot. Furval 1 and kanaplex as directed
@@sherryP-rv3vg Best is AAP Spectrogram, but if not available you need to treat with pharm grade nitrofurazone (not Furan 2) at the same time as Kanaplex, failure to do so can yield more poor results. There is much more to this than your answer, which is why the person was referred to a professional group.
Also there are many reasons to use a water conditioner, and while Prime is among the best, it is not always the best choice. For instance with Heavy metals in tap water, AAP ProAquais the better choice. Which sick or new fish in an established tank, AAP Res-Q is the better choice!

Not the best idea. 50% water changes can be hard on a fish... its very hard to match the chemistry up and can sometimes cause issues.

What's up my dude. The whole video is a how to treat. First finding the cause then treating the symptoms. How you treat depends on your treatment of choice. If you want detailed how tos with our recommended steps those are in the linked articles. There more videos on the channel too.
Not sure you were watching the same video or reading the in depth articles as I or others here have done.
Treatment is far more than just dumping in meds, as both the video and the articles in the details note. Many treatments fail or are only partly effective when one does not take care of causes. Sort of like looking for treatment for burns on your hand while keeping your hands in the fire.
