I strongly suspect it has something to do with calling out the new "family friendly videos" policy RUclips is rolling around. These videos, technically, will be considered children's content under the new policy. Either way, these are awesome
My grandmother died today, thanks to you I had the courage to help dress her and even helped carry her into the coffin. Thank you so much for everything!❤️
Hope you’re having a great day today! I watched her constantly after I lost my Dad last summer...I’m only 26 and I always thought I’d be in my 50s or 60s before I’d ever have to think about preparing for his funeral. I had lost my only surviving grandparents last year also and I completely agree that it helps watching her videos and makes it seem pretty natural and not so scary. So sorry for your loss and hope you have a great weekend. Much love and peace!
Im three months late, but I just wanted to say Im so sorry for your loss. And how awesome that you actually took part in sending her to the next place, with your own hands. I dont know if I can do that when the time comes, but your example is encouraging. Thanks for sharing it.
Trust me, a lot of Disney fans-- especially Dallin/Offhand Disney wish that. I'd suggest watching some Disney RUclips to discover more attractions that were never built.
I used to be scared of the Haunted Mansion when I was little but now I absolutely love it. I love the macabre but whimsical feel to it. Definitely makes it “death positive”. 😊
The reason they stop the ride all the time on The Haunted Mansion is to let people who need to transfer from a wheelchair into a ride vehicle 🙂 It’s not broken!
I met Caitlin at a lecture and book signing at The Boston Public Library in September and she was so nice. Somehow she’s even cooler in person. It’s fun being a deathling 💀

Okay but Jean Lafitte is such an interesting historical figure that deserves much more recognition for being an absolute badass rebel pirate captain and I highly recommend reading up on him. I guarantee you will not regret learning about him.
Aubrie Cottle what Tiffany said. Its also considered hazardous so if people do that on attractions we have to evacuate and shut the ride down. So not only will ur loved one be trash but you just inconvenienced and pissed off a ton of people.
Your output is entertaining, informative, and funny as hell. No pun intended. If you are a funeral director, I bet the families love you. Keep up the great work.
The last video played ads, I was sad when this 1 didn't. There is Nothing undesirable, or taboo, about talking about death, and this channel should be recognized, and paid, for being the best at approaching the subject in an informative and humorous way.
Happy and Healthy With Marie technically not, but I’m on a RUclips account and no one knows who I actually am :) and sadly Disney parks are closed right now due to the pandemic
The chance of that is small since people are too nitpicky today they would get a lot of complains that it doesn't belong in Disneyland. It would be great especially in Disneyland Paris but those nitpicky people can ruin it in just a call of 100.

HOLD ON. At the Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia we ALSO have an Escape from Pompeii dark ride! It's awesome. I can't believe there's another one. I can't find anything about the one in Pennsylvania online though, so I'm wondering which park? (Watch as I comment a full year later lol.)

When the haunted mansion ride stops, it's usually because they're stopping the cars to load an elderly or special needs guest. Also if you look up while in the entry elevator during the lightning, you can still see the sea captain hanging from a rope.
LOL "we're going to bring ghosts from all over the world..." LOL too, the stuck between life and death moment! Interesting to hear Sarah's view on Disney's use of the culture. I'd love to hear more.
I'd love to see an episode on cryonics. I just watched the short film by The Atlantic on a cryonics company, and they seemed both pretty weird and a bit scammy. They were shown putting a "patient" into storage who had been hurriedly frozen off-site by who knows what unsuitable method and was delivered in an unrefrigerated van, packed in dry ice, without the blood being removed or anything. Even if their theories have any truth in them, there's no chance this body would be remotely viable to be reanimated by any stretch of the imagination, but they still took the money and packed him away anyway. I've also heard of people being frozen head-only despite paying for full-body. It seems like a pretty fishy industry to me and I'd be fascinated to know more.
And that is why we make wills and designate Guardians for children in the event of an accident or an emergency, my sister and her husband have 8 planned in the event of a natural disaster. I think that's a bit excessive personally but at least one is a good idea and have it notarized
In the dutch fantasy theme park the efteling, one of the first attractions build after the initial opening was a ghost castle, where corpses and gravestones dance to the dans macabre. It’s quite nice. Kate Bush danced there once.
Echt waar....? Ik wist dat niet van Kate Bush. Wel dat er inderdaad mensen het park uitgestuurd zijn omdat ze bij het kasteel as van een familielid wilden verstrooien.
The Nightmare Before Christmas HM ride is the one ride I would LOVE to be stuck in! I'm glad you mention the Day of the Dead appropriation. As a Latina, I feel the same as your friend. I love Coco. Easily my favorite Pixar film. I was so afraid they would mess up my culture, but they didn't. However, what Disney did was inexcusable. Trying to own a holiday from any culture is despicable and I'm glad it was stopped.
I stumbled across your videos and really find them interesting. My uncle was a mortician as well - as an aside, there was radio show back in the day that had a character named "Digger O'Dell" (an undertaker, natch) and that was my uncle's nickname. He signed all his cards and letters "Eventually yours" Keep up the good work! You're also lovely, by the way.
As much as I love the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, I'm a little sad Caitlin wasn't there when it's the normal Haunted Mansion. The deathiest of all the Disneyland attractions!
Technically it was corrupt corporate Disney that made that decision, not the crew at Pixar. Pixar is an animation studio and isn't really involved in the business side of things other than following orders.
I actually have a great dislike of the Disney company for several reasons, and now I can add that whole trying to trademark"Day of the Dead" and "Dia de los Muertos" ridiculousness.
I remember hearing about it and I was EXTREMELY pissed off. You can’t trademark a holiday and part a culture. It’s gross. Unfortunately Disney doesn’t care.

Dear Caitlin, during the last year I had to deal with three deaths in my immediate surroundings. Never clicked on a video so fast in my life. Thank you for talking about things like death, it helps normalize it which... it’s nothing to be afraid of. So thank you! Your humor is always on point
Love how you're including the outro outtakes. Since watching your channel I've embraced the process of outlining my wants for my own death and final disposition (no embalming and as natural as possible! ). I've gotten it in writing and made sure family knows. They think it's odd a healthy person under 40 is talking about such macabre topics - then again I've always been against the "norm" & had fascination with the macabre. I looked over the edge of the walkway and didnt see anything so I went back to my room (albeit very quickly) since then I dont mess with spirits or ghosts and I always thought they were a possibility after that.
Now that's cool. I'd like that.
i heard the roman colosseum used to be infested with cats, too.

I'm okay with it. She is hilarious.

Please don’t scatter your love ones ashes inside the attractions. You just end up causing an hours long breakdown while custodial vacuna out your love one who is sent to the trash. Trust me on this, it’s not fun telling people the ride is broken down over that.
i am no disney fan but i love the batshit insane stories revolving around it
Oh my God I was expecting at least another week until the next part of this series-Death Mother, you are treating us well this week!
Me too! I was like "Christmas has come early!" lol
For real! ♥️♥️♥️
I'm so sorry for your loss..
You're very brave! Well done, it must have really helped you with the healing process. Your granny is proud of you😉
Im three months late, but I just wanted to say Im so sorry for your loss. And how awesome that you actually took part in sending her to the next place, with your own hands. I dont know if I can do that when the time comes, but your example is encouraging. Thanks for sharing it.
Bless your heart!
5:48 That would've been so interesting, I wish they'd followed through made that addition. Catacombs are fascinating.
Kenni Cumberbatch agreed!
Trust me, a lot of Disney fans-- especially Dallin/Offhand Disney wish that. I'd suggest watching some Disney RUclips to discover more attractions that were never built.
Totally agree!!
You had me at "We're here to make the children cry!".

I just watched Full Metal Jacket for the millionth time on tv last night, and was imagining the part where they're marching back through the fields singing Micky Mouse being replaced by Muerto Mouse. Would've worked better in war time I suppose!

"If there's no real skulls, I'm gonna flip over the boat" Haha
Okay but Jean Lafitte is such an interesting historical figure that deserves much more recognition for being an absolute badass rebel pirate captain and I highly recommend reading up on him. I guarantee you will not regret learning about him.

as an ex cast member: DO NOT DUMP YOUR DECEASED FAMILY MEMBERS ASHES INTO THE RIDES OR PARK. DON'T BE LIKE THAT
the shit guests do is astounding. after I left I was so disillusioned with humanity
Does it happen often? What did you do if you caught someone trying to dump the ashes?
What the fff tell me more
Aubrie Cottle what Tiffany said. Its also considered hazardous so if people do that on attractions we have to evacuate and shut the ride down. So not only will ur loved one be trash but you just inconvenienced and pissed off a ton of people.
And you’ll also probably get permabanned. So not worth it
I love how she treats it like the haunted mansion ride just one day magically appeared in the park
Your output is entertaining, informative, and funny as hell. No pun intended. If you are a funeral director, I bet the families love you. Keep up the great work.
Are we not going to talk about how AWESOME that catacombs attraction could have been? I'm so mad it doesn't exist, I would have LOVED that
Saaaame! Ah well, at least there's Paris
The last video played ads, I was sad when this 1 didn't. There is Nothing undesirable, or taboo, about talking about death, and this channel should be recognized, and paid, for being the best at approaching the subject in an informative and humorous way.
Kawanna Hardy it did for me! 👍🏻 (I watched both of them, maybe we can share?)
I got ads. Looks like it was fixed?
Cast Member here: Haunted Mansion is the lamest thing ever when the lights are on so we can clean inside
That completely checks out
Same for space mountain
A friend in maintenance said it was pretty creepy when the animation was on.
I thought cast member weren’t supposed to reveal that they’re cast members? Idk but every “creepy” things aren’t creepy when the lights are on.
Happy and Healthy With Marie technically not, but I’m on a RUclips account and no one knows who I actually am :) and sadly Disney parks are closed right now due to the pandemic
It would be cool if one day they reconsider the catacombs.
The chance of that is small since people are too nitpicky today they would get a lot of complains that it doesn't belong in Disneyland. It would be great especially in Disneyland Paris but those nitpicky people can ruin it in just a call of 100.

When the haunted mansion ride stops, it's usually because they're stopping the cars to load an elderly or special needs guest. Also if you look up while in the entry elevator during the lightning, you can still see the sea captain hanging from a rope.
We were there for a long time! But if that was the situation obviously not a problem to wait.
@@AskAMortician It happens all the time 🤷♀️
It's not the sea captain. It's the Ghost Host.

LOL too, the stuck between life and death moment!
I remember having an entire (very serious) discussion about Walt Disney’s cryogenically frozen head in my biochemistry class at 7:30 in the morning.
It's never the wrong time to have a discussion about Disney's cryogenically frozen head.
froggyplatypus Agreed, even if he was actually cremated
I’m not afraid to die. I’m afraid to abandon my small children as this world is a cruel place.
Exactly why I chose to have none.
And don’t forget their children as well
And that is why we make wills and designate Guardians for children in the event of an accident or an emergency, my sister and her husband have 8 planned in the event of a natural disaster. I think that's a bit excessive personally but at least one is a good idea and have it notarized
I think that's every parents fear. I'm a parent myself and feel the same way
*ok 8 sounds like alot but 6 of them are family members before you think they're too crazy 😅* lol
In the dutch fantasy theme park the efteling, one of the first attractions build after the initial opening was a ghost castle, where corpses and gravestones dance to the dans macabre. It’s quite nice. Kate Bush danced there once.
Lianne De Graaf oh I wanted to go there for such a long time. Now even more!
Echt waar....?
He signed all his cards and letters "Eventually yours"
Keep up the good work! You're also lovely, by the way.
As much as I love the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, I'm a little sad Caitlin wasn't there when it's the normal Haunted Mansion. The deathiest of all the Disneyland attractions!
The original ride was SO awesome....
The crypt would have been amazing!!!!!!! Wow imagine that brought back.. I doubt they would but oml I would go to Disney just for that!!
Coco is such a beautiful film, I am so glad they did not end up doing that trademark stuff it would make me feel dirty.
Disney was once about good clean fun, but now it's like all the other big corporations whose single goal is to richen the stockholders above all else.
I remember hearing about it and I was EXTREMELY pissed off. You can’t trademark a holiday and part a culture. It’s gross. Unfortunately Disney doesn’t care.
RIP ollie jones....

I never thought I would get my theme park fix in the show about death. Yet here we are. Great video, keep them coming.
Dear Caitlin, during the last year I had to deal with three deaths in my immediate surroundings.
