I love that the spectators are just chilling at the edges of the track and not caring about the fact that they can fall to their death
Considering where Pikes Peak and Rallye Monte Carlo spectators like hanging out during those events, that's +50 accuracy points for GT.
if you ever make it to CA highway 1.... that's exactly how it is lol. no railing, people just chilling there
@@mitchell-wallisforce7859 haha yes I remember hearing a quote years ago, something like "the only people who are as crazy and fearless as rally drivers are people who are standing there spectating the rally"
Must be group B fans
@@mitchell-wallisforce7859 I think the next track coming will be Pikes Peak, Midfield or Tokyo Route 246
The blue bridge still exists. They just used a really large digital crane to relocate it to Circuit de Sainte-Croix
XD
Well Saint croix got it from GT sport so should have seen it coming for this one being reworked
I wanted to say this for a while lol.
have you even seen both? they look nothing alike. no way its even supposed to be the same
@@pedroaido I know, the structure is different. It just made for a bit of a joke is all
It’s nice that Grand Valley Speedway has made a return, even if rebranded.
I think they changed the name slightly because it's not the same track exactly, and once you know both names it's easier to differentiate which track from which game you're talking about
It hasn't made a return
This version is ass
@@Rapid_GT Yeah, it got demoted from racetrack to highway.
The big grandstands, green grass on the run-off, and those giant billboards were all part of the charm of the original track. It is probably my all-time favourite fictional racetrack. Not sure how I feel about this update.
Agreed. I loved racing the fto in the endurance back in the day on the original circuit.
Completely agree. Once again, PD have committed an act of vandalism against the heritage of the GT series and the fond childhood memories we all hold.
The is the most boring track in gt7.. i was so sad, when i drove it the first time.
As someone who goes to school in Santa Cruz, along the coastline, the scenery was immediately recognizable. I’m not too familiar with the previous track, but I think they did a great job of portraying the atmosphere.
Catch any of the snow there?
SF guy here, felt right at home with the scenery, reminds me of some areas near pacifica
A legend returns? Mate, I didn't even know you'd been away!
LOL
He was gone for 13 agonizing days
I thought you meant m Thomas27 lol
ITS OUT TODAY !!?? Thought it was tomorrow with the PSVR2 “boots up PS5”
The update was today, PSVR2 is launched tomorrow.
@@Super_GT Hey there Steve, could you drive a mustang on the game? I'm a big fan of the car and I don't usually see anybody use it. Great video.
@@Super_GT He obviously didn’t watch your last video Steve as you clearly explained this. There’s no helping some people mate 🤣😂🫠
Please make a vid today the course is amazing especially for rp i was so hyped for it
Hey slap apparently the vr will work with online lobbies so if you can make a video on that tomorrow it'd be appreciated, the psvr2 is a little too steep in price atm for me to purchase it since I just recently upgraded my sim setup from a logitech g29 but I want to see if it'll be like asseto corsa's vr
we've got trial mountain and deep forest as 'remasters', this is more of a 'reboot' - and i love it, it still has the flow of the original but now with a unique aesthetic
Steve, you should know that the lighting effect going into and out of tunnels can be adjusted in the settings menu. It's called the temporary exposure correction setting and you can adjust it to make it easier to see.
I like that it's been remade and remastered, but I feel like grand valley has been so iconic (even in Tourist Trophy (my favorite track to ride in that game) that it deserves to be back
Man I loved tourist trophy. Don't see it mentioned enough.
Since Highway 1 is out, we'll never see it again. R.I.P. Grand Valley Speedway.
Honestly, I wish they would have kept it original since it's all '25th anniversary' ... or at least make a variation available for those of us that have played since GT1. Overall, excited to try it out however.
Yeah I have to admit that I am going to miss the speedway vibe of Grand Valley, but it is good to have another track.
That's surely one of the opinions :)
It's not even GVS anymore so it shouldn't use the name
Speedway will be missed... 😔
That last little chicane coming out of the tunnel in sector 3 is such a pain. That's where all of my gold circuit experience laps have gone to die for the past couple hours. Taking a break to watch this.
To be fair, I was a bit disappointed the old circuit had been changed, but this has been growing on me as well. The scenery looks absolutely stunning.
This track is amazing. Literally a road, you can even just cruise around your cars and imagine you are on a road trip, and with the VR2 OMG.
if only there was rain on american tracks..
but yeah, theres not enough road roads in the game for fun sunday driving and its a good track for roleplayers too
i prefer it to the original in looks and how it drives
@@Vemppu_Lutku it's really weird to not have rain on the US tracks. All the more reason for them to bring back some of the old Seattle GT layouts though, if they did that and put rain in too I'd be happy
This might be the nicest track in the game as far as aesthetics go. Beautiful views on the cliffs and on the bridges. Really excited about this track.
I can't wait to see how much the light change coming into the tunnel will affect us in VR.
I feel bad for the guys when they drive out of the tunnel
I think changing light is something they should keep going with,.. know the track even if you can't see it...
@@CooroSnowFox I agree
Finally this game starts to look like what it should have looked since day one.
it only took about 10 months but slowly but surely
I read this comment at 10:37
@@TomorrowNobody LOL!
Cry
I assume you are into game development .. ; ) it's a trade off / imagine they would have waited to sell the game until now - money will run out and it takes a lot of talented well payed artists to get something running like this... funny how spoilt we became these days lol
Just seeing the calm of that final sector, savoring your victory with the Ferrari closely following behind you...
...and then for you to check the rear-view at the final split-second to see him abruptly hurling himself into Barry R. at 9:59 followed by funky race-finish music has to be the most hilarious shit I've seen all month.
I'd say the overhaul was a success--this HWY 1 run is simply stunning! Having driven the epically scenic HWY 1 in Big Sur, California I can say PD absolutely nailed it. No doubt this is intended as a showcase for PSVR2 users too.
Well I think the visual changes make it look completely true to life, while the layout changes make it a little trickier and some corners are no longer easy to cheat on.
I am really enjoying it, I have not managed to store all the corners yet but it really is fun getting used to it 😁
Tidge very kindly shared a tip on neutralising the transition from a well lit track into a darkened tunnel and that is to immediately look behind you quickly as you enter, when you return to forward view the tunnel lights up significantly 😁
Like deployed 👍
😎🎙🏎✅️
Great tip!
We already know Super GT is quick, but Imagine Ultra GT🙆🏽♂️🫡
You mean Ultra Instinct GT
Super Saiyan GT?
I'd like that
Superb GT
@@CountGamerChronicles 😂😂
Grand Valley, Trial Mountain, and Blue Moon are now in-canon NorCal tracks. Add Laguna Seca and possibly Sonoma. That means the Bay Area is Gran Turismo heaven
Laguna Seca is in the game
Love love love this new look! It looks very much like the Big Sur area of Northern California. An absolutely beautiful area and an amazing highway to drive through.
Would have loved a replica of the original with high res textures. The environmental change gives quite a different vibe overall, despite the similarity in layout
I do like the redesign in the sense its very picture-esque, however, Grand Valley always felt like a true race track more so than most other GT Original Circuits. I wish they would have kept that feeling to the track, even if in a new location.
Jesus that was quick play edit and post. Most appreciated.... Now race Sophy
On it =)
I'd been wanting some form of Hwy 1 in the game and Grand Valley to return for a while< so this is like a 2 in 1 win for me.
Last summer, I drove my lifted pickup truck up the Pacific Coast Highway from LA to Oregon. While cruising through Big Sur, I can't begin to describe the jealous admiration experienced while being passed by GTR's and Huracans. It was right around the time a lime green GT3 RS absolutely blew my doors off that I decided I will own a proper race car one day. Can't wait to race this track!
Love that tunnel lighting transition. Gives me flashbacks of real life when your eyes need to adjust both in & out.
Great video Steve! The track gave me a rush of nostalgia from GT5 and GT6, totally forgot about it haha. Huge fan!
Just found your channel about a week ago! Great content! Keep the videos coming!
Nice to see a few guys from down under racing with you - especially N-Spud and his flying mustang, must be a special power for the guys on controller like him!!
2:55 the Merc gets bumped flies off the edge. The beetle took their racing livery a bit too serious lol
I like the new track a lot, I just want the big bridge back. The south layout looks quite interesting
Two videos, two days in a row!
So good to see you’re back tonight
I love the commentary over the races especially the way you keep your cool and are happy to finish the race no matter what other drivers behave like or if you don’t do so well yourself ❤
I personally love the looks of this track, I love the fact that you can stop at the tight 180 and stop and watch people race across both bridges from a distance and that I also spotted a ufo Easter egg, no idea if that was part of the original track
This track looks really nice. I still hope they manage to bring back the original Grand Valley, it's just such an iconic track.
My favorite track of all time. I used to run the formula gt on Grand Valley for hours on end in GT4. I love that first hairpin.
Wow, having driven this route on a road trip, they did an amazing job capturing the beauty of the area. Great commentary!
Thanks for the videos Steve. I love em.
I LOVE this new setting. We need more road courses like this, especially with all the pull offs and signage
Hey, Steve! Just wanted to say that I adore your content. I love your calm style of commentary, and the fact you don't overdramatise your content. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much mate!
The South layout looks like it'll be a staple for drift lobbies lol, has that mountain road feel
What drift lobbies? I've seen like 4 since launch
@@Vulpes_Shinbi lol I’ve seen quite the opposite. I go looking for a chill race and all I see is drift lobbies ☹️
I swear, I haven't played Gran Turismo in like, 15 years, but I love these videos for the driving and how pleasant they are to listen to and watch, frequently while I'm sketching. Thanks for all the hard work GT.
Great flow…nice to see it return! And I don’t mind the change of scenery.
Very nice track, did about laps yesterday. Good job!
I love it and the scenery is brilliant! It will grow on people for sure!
i loved the grand valley speedway on gt6, one of my favourites tracks👍
Been loving this track! the constant turns and tight corners make it so fun in gr.4 and 3 i cant get enough. Nice challenging track
I Love driving this in the Ferraris of 1975 and 1976 and the Lamborgini of 1988. The graphics of this just Blow me Away.
Hilarious that the redbull beetle knocked those two cars off the cliff. The spoiler just comes into the frame “gives you wings”
Great vid Steve! To see in the tunnels,. switch to rear view for a sec and the tunnels light up.
This new version gives strong NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 vibes with the coastal road. It's incredible.
10:34 🎵"That brother's floating
In the aaaaair"🎶
It's nice to see Grand Valley Speedway come back, albeit with a different name (rebrand) and a revamped track layout.
It may not be for everyone due to the location, but better late than never.
Also, when you race this in the Lobby mode or the Multiplayer mode, expect wacky stuff like these in this vid, and they are due to the connectivity.
10:36 see what I mean lol
The first sector coming down the hill reminds me of the downhill on the back end of mount panorama just stretched out a bit. Cant wait to get home today to turn laps on this new track.
9:55
That Ferrari trying to last second PIT maneuver you was something lmao.
Edit: 10:35, ALIENS LMAO. 🤣
Great Video as always!! We are about due for a solid Livestream 🏁🍻
5:12 my Man is dripping testosterone with that livery
I was racing in a community server with imatt last night as well.
Good races.
Its fun when you add the cinematic camera to these replays.. Please add them, like when you are going down the straight. Different camera angels are fun to see.
i actually had a blast on all the different races, favorite was the gt1 was using my honda formula car and it’s effortless full sends
Looks awesome...love a fast, flowing circuit 👍🍻
I would've liked seeing this in its original flavour (scenery wise), but hey, it looks like it runs well and the new scenery isn't half bad either. Nice.
I missed you dad
Sorry Son
The Beetle really took the slogan “Gives you wings” to a whole new level by pushing the Mercedes out over the edge of a cliff 😂😂
With the tunnel lighting, if you do a really quick look back right as you enter the light will adjust. Just flash your camera backwards as you enter the tunnels
I loved the original Grand Valley, and it drives what feels 80% of the original. I accept their reasoning behind changing the theme of the location and I think it's worked and looks amazing.
I miss the Mazdaspeed billboard going into T1 😭
I love this new track, it's quite dynamic and each sector feels unique. Got to say it feels a bit weird, Twilight Zone vibes, having driven Highway 1 a lot and seeing this Highway 1-ish inspired scenery! Great driving, great video, excited to see more and getting your thoughts on PSVR2!
Diggin this track, can't wait to play this weekend.
10:36 first it was out roads, now it’s our airspace
Can't wait to get some GT time to try the new track. Looks gorgeous...
really sick track overhaul, track looks amazing
7:03 the old switch a roo ⛳
Steve, I've driven Highway 1 to Big Sur, its an amazing road for sure. Driven it several times in the Viper. I need to take the M2 there to stretch its legs!
10:35. Incredible alien technology 🤔 hmm ok ☺️👍🏼
Honestly the track layout is an improvement over an already classic track.
Sad to see the OG scenery go but it would have felt very claustrophobic on PS5, it was designed for consoles with much lower draw distance abilites, and I understand why they decide to open it way up and give us much greater sightlines.
2:55 "gives you wings" : sends you off a cliff 😂
I thoroughly enjoy both versions of the track. Surprisingly enjoyed punting the Citroen DS around there also.
I´m really hyped for this Update. My VR2 arrives tomorrow, can´t wait to experience it
There are shades of real life coastal roads on this track. The A9 above Helmsdale in Caithness for me.
For the harsh lighting entering and exiting the tunnels, I am able to see on my newer tv as it has great HDR. Try playing with the HDR settings on your screen because when it’s set correctly, it’ll make a world of difference in light and dark areas being shown at the same time. If your screen does not support HDR, now you got an excuse to upgrade.
The floating mustang had me dying 😂
Didn't expect a San Jose shoutout!
The reason to bring back certain tracks (or characters or levels or whatever) is to allow fans to see their nostalgic favorites but updated with modern technology. Polyphony completely did not understand this with Grand Valley.
That being said, it is still a very good track.
It is good to know that low altitude hovering is a 3s penalty in GT7.
Hello Steve! AKA Super GT !! AKA Scott Speed !! to name a few ... To tell you the truth it is part Grand Valley + with a Huge makeover with added areas of Hwy 1 etc. Love Panorama Scheme + bridges , There are similar areas I recognize just a little but because of the closed off area(marked by cones)that threws me off I guess the design team did this to throw us off. Your video section when driving on the bridge just reaching the tunnel, that section with the board barriers to the right reminded me that was the old Hwy 1 Route to BIG SUR. I remember when I actually drove on Hwy 1 in the Whee hours heading to Monterey Ca. destination Laguna Seca. North Hwy 1 BIG SUR had issues with their problematic landslides years and years ago, now it's been bypassed with a Long Highway tunnel that takes away the old HWY 1 Route. Anyways! This New Improve Grand Valley is a Site to see, Can't wait to drive on this Road Circuit. KUDOS Steve, they should bring back the Original, Hopefully on coming future Updates.
Keep Up the Great Video Vibes Steve! 🤙🤙🤟🤟
I love how the Ferrari in 2nd in the 1st race decided to meet Barry R after his 1.5s penalty at the end.
Bit tricky exit here with the sand, where at 11:58 it looks like a straight shot to the next apex, but at the very end of 11:59 suddenly another, cheeky pre-apex(?) appears out of nowhere and lands you in sand.
I like this rework a lot, excited to drive it myself once I get the update completed. The elevation changes are good and it really does capture the vibe of American mountain/coastal roads well while still being true to the original layout. I can see this being really fun to just lap on my own.
I gotta say, even though they've changed a lot. It's similar enough that as I watched the first lap in the video all I could hear in the back of my head was the opening of 'I think I'm paranoid' by Garbage from the GT2 soundtrack (which I haven't played in well over a decade 😅)
This is actually a 10/10 track good job devs
I was skeptical too, but actually love the reinterpretation! Like the hillclimb/circuit hybrid.
I got excited when there was still a bit of a tunnel where the first tunnel used to be 🎆 (my last GT game was GT2).
Can't wait to give this track a few races tonight.
No comment on the original setting, but this stretch of PCH is one of the greatest drives in the world. The views, the varying landscape, the old tunnels, it's spectacular. You're just south of Big Sur in this stretch, absolutely worth a drive if you find yourself in that part of CA
The lighting in the tunnel.... Doesn't that reminds anyone of the love tunnel back in FM6/7 Rio track XD XD
CA Route 1 is one of the most famous roads in the world, so makes sense to put a fictional track there since they've been recontextualizing the fictional tracks into more real locations. Grand Valley is maybe the track where, over the iterations of it, it sort of doesn't feel like the designers were quite sure where this environment was supposed to be, so putting it in Big Sur seems like a perfectly acceptable solution. If they add Sonoma to the game that side of the map is going to be really damn crowded though.
