Crazy how realistic this game can look in those cinematic shots. Don’t even get me started on the Photo Booth mode 😂
@@br4kecheckd To be fair to Polyphony, it actually is a great strategy. They can take advantage of HDRi and projection mapping to map the photo onto a basic environment, and use the HDRi to get correct reflections on a car. It's a really common method in the VFX/3D industry.
What really helps I think is the motion blur, plus the glare effects from the HDR data of light peaking on the windows and reflective surfaces. I'm not sure what method they're using specifically for the blur, but it's just the right amount of blur that probably takes into account exposure, so it can have the exposure and blur that a camera would actually have.
Agreed, that wide cinematic shot of them going round the hairpin was epic!
@@rolirolsterThe race itself seems to be realistic, they running one after the other, with overtakes every now and then and not the madness that we see in other games.
@@DarkSwordsman Almost all of Polyphony's graphics techniques are developed in-house, which isn't the case for basically any other games anymore.
That means they can strive for exact photo-realistic replication in a way that virtually no other developer can.
They occasionally publish presentations from conferences on the Polyphony website (under Publications, note most are in Japanese), and those always show just how far they go with making their own stuff: rendering with their own unique colour gamut for photos, stuff like that.

8:42 interestingly, PSN isn't supported worldwide, so a lot of people (myself included) lie about their location. many choose Britain because they want the console language to remain English
This, very depressing.
I live in Nigeria and there has been no PSN support since we got a PS3 in 2013.
I was disappointed when I realized, I could not access PSN for anything...until I had the idea to use my uncle's address in the states.
That was like...2 years later or something.
He was "nature-forced" to leave his residence though, and now we have nothing to use, as the account we created then was blocked somehow.
I ended up jailbreaking the PS3 and that's where we're at rn.
Moral of the story - Sony please make PSN available worldwide.
And if there's a reason they can't, I'd appreciate if anyone shared.

Happy to see you use the cinematic cameras a bit more, Steve! GT is gorgeous to look at. Was missing those a bit in recent videos. I presumed it would take more time to edit as well, so understandable in that sense :)
Back to the world of GT7
I set a terrible lap time for qualifying at first, but used it to pull off some great races and strategies from the back. Then, having more experience with the track, I set a quali lap 1 second quicker one night intending to race from it the following morning.
I COMPLETELY forgot the races change on Mondays, and I set my time on Sunday night 😭
Maxpower always goes with the Porsche in this track! Great driver as Wind! Cheers. Great race Steve as you didn’t practice a all!

The physics update has made the cars very push snap loose! I can't get my CSL elite wheel setup, feels like the brakes lock up even with ABS on I just don't know so any help would be appreciated 🍻👍
I enjoyed this combo quite a bit, especially with the Genesis X. The chicane near the end sucks, but overall it's the right amount of difficulty/race strat/race craft.
That and having a sub 1:47 time helps lol 😅
Calster with a 10th to 1st in a Porsche and by a comfortable margin, and I think he still uses a pad(?) That's pretty darn decent.

is that a common phrase used in the UK? ive noticed all the streamers/yt folks i watch often say this.
I belive the key to be a sucessful racer is to not worry, not question your perception or knowledge or memory.
You should know what makes you a great racer.
Once you know that, you can continue to grow. Try other methods. Learn learn learn.
Accept the fall into understanding vehicle weight transfer, ratios, time, aero, basically physics.
Once you understand the physics of racing, its so simple.
And the physics are rather obvious, you just need to be ok with questioning your previous thought.
Engineering is fun. Mechanics is fun. I love connecting with this youtuber. He is growing into a true racer where at one time it was perhaps just for fun.
No, this is reality and it is of course, that you Steve are becoming a race car driver.

That white Mazda was too aggressive, IMO. Especially on that turn before the bridge on lap 9. He wasn't alongside enough to assume space would be given. i'm not saying it's dirty, but I do think it was ill-advised, and I think they should have given the place back.

Does anyone have any idea of why as an A+ driver and S Sr.. I still match with few a+ and also get alot of B drivers, granted I usually have a top 1000 lap time. I rarely start outside the top 3

If you’re ever looking for something challenging I like to take the hellcat swapped 70’ charger with a full tune on comfort soft tires, if you have a sim setup it’s a lot of fun
Seeing that RX Vision car reminded me that Mazda actually filed some new patents on wankel engines some time ago, so maybe that RX won't be just a vision concept in the future.
They’re using it as a hybrid generator in the new MX30 SUV
I’d be very, VERY surprised if they bring back a rotary powered car. If it does appear in the RX-9 it’ll likely be to supplement a hybrid power train
That was a really fun race to watch, very high quality. HeatOn's driving looked decidedly sketchy in this race! First putting someone into the wall then trying to edge the Mazda out during the twisty section.

Lots of RUclipsrs do that, where's the problem? Considering Wind is one of the best drivers in the UK at the moment (and at 17 has great potential) he deserves far more support in any case.

Practice will make you perfect your style and be consistently faster. It’s not something you can do and then expect to be as good a week later without continuously keeping your eye “in”. For every lap that everyone else is doing it’s another lap behind or another lap better that they are in front. Just how it goes 😂

Aww yess, some soothing super GT, with gt7. My evening just got better.
When I go away from the sim for a while, I do lose those 9 tenths - 1.5s, but those come back quickly, what takes ages for me to regain is the racecraft. The first 3-5 races after I've been away for a few months are an absolute shitshow, I punt everybody, can't keep a sibe by side without killing somebody and my consistency is completely off

I’ve just got into online racing after earning ludicrous amounts of money, and just in 1 day I had made it into B rating with S sportsmanship, and yet I still get blocked when I try to pass someone. I had a guy ran into me when I was taking the very first corner in mount panorama. And just a few races in C had someone already spinning out and the lap ain’t even start yet.
You should do the upcoming 24h Nurburgring in Forza motorsport 8, will be little bit interesting and different!
About a lot of brits in the game. I think it's just british gamers like racing. I'm from Ukraine, and in every my lobby there is minimum 3-4 brits
