@@GXBOB the fusebox i mounted in the same spot but using the bracket that came with the auxbeam i was able to bolt it directly to the side with the wires facing the engine instead of towards the front, and the switch panel i mounted in the same general spot but used the Ohana Rig Supply mount to sandwich it in between the vent there on the dashboard
Thanks, Bob! That sure look and feel a lot cleaner and efficient. I noticed that you changed your battery terminal clamps, I got a set of those. I got a request on a how-to replace that terminals in your next video please ! 🙏👍
Another great video Bob. For the control panel - I saw how you demonstrated you can change the color of the illumination. My question is - can you change the brightness (increase / decrease) of the illumination of the control panel ? - much like you can do with the illumination of the stock instrument panel.
Yes. It’s easier to download the app to do all that. the app gives you a lot more functions at your fingertips to choose icons, dim lights, choose colors off a large color spectrum, and program your group of lights together. I wanted to film the app portion but i didn’t have a second camera to record with.
Observation. At 38:22 you day that fuss can be moved. Yes and no. You can de-rate a higher circuit to use a smaller dust but you shouldn't do the opposite. I have seen these boards without the silicon coating and the construction of the higher amperage channels is different to the others. The higher annotate use two solid state relays in parallel.
Did you end up changing where you put your add a fuse. Coz initially you have tap to the rear wipers but when you tucking the wires it looks like you tap’d it on a diffrent one. Just wondering because i will be doing this soon and i wanted to know where to tap the add a fuse wire. Great video Bob! Appreciate it in advance!
Rear wipers fuse is where i left it. Reason why you saw it in a different location is because i was originally looking for a neat installation. I chose the corner rear wipers in the end. It really doesn’t matter what fuse you choose as long as it’s an accessory that turns on and off with your ignition.
Hey Bob I just tried install mine and I noticed my fuse for my pod lights which also got from lasfit is 15 amp not 20 as urs so is that ok if i just install my wires to 20 amp in auxbeam ?
Would the front windshield wiper fuse work instead? Its 10 amp and not a 15 amp like the rear, will that matter? For some reason my 2023 model does not have a fuse in the location you used. Or are there other fuses I should be looking for?
Thanks Wahid, it offers many benefits if you decide to add alot of aftermarket items on your car. I’ll be adding more stuff to this gang channel soon .
@@GXBOB thanks for ur reply Mr Bob, actually i am from Afghanistan following your channel and amazing videos, i owned a GX460 about a month ago and it’s so lovely 🥰 before i had a 4runner that’s also a good car but the GX460 is an extraordinary car, I ordered some mods which you had given the links in description and are on the way so hope you show us more mods and tricks about our car . @@devzor i forgot to mention. If you download the switch panel app, it’ll display the large color spectrum for you to choose from. So much easier than using the buttons to eyeball your desired color. I've been wanting to do this for a while but wasn't super confident, but you've eased my worries lol. I did have a question, since I have a light bar thats 60 amps, how would I wire it if its more powerful than the supplied fuses
Hey Josh, there is a really good write up about this from another post that can explain it better than i can. Go half way down the thread and read a post titled "wiring accessories to the system". It starts off explaining that even though the circuit breaker is labeled 60 amps, its actually a 100 amp circuit breaker. expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/review-auxbeam-8-switch-accessory-power-panel.206225/
@@GXBOB thanks for the response and article. after adding the relay, does it matter which circuit I end up putting it into, since I am adding that extra relay and fuse, it shouldn't matter which circuit its placed in correct?
@@JoshRus Basically, you are correct because low current can flick the relay to bridge high current to your light bars. But i would sleep better at night if you were to use the 30 amp channels to trigger your relay as opposed to the 10 amp channels.
Hey ! Relays are only needed if you are going to use the switch that comes with the spotlights. Since you will be using the Auxbeam switch panel, it already has built in relays. You can remove the relays that comes with the spotlight.
Hey Bob, quick question, since we merge the two fog lights and each have 20 amp fuse, we still put them in a 20 amp in beam box or we should double to make it 40 or we need to put them separately in each 20 amp?
Amps = watts / 12. Let’s say each foglight is 55 watts. 55x2 / 12 = 9 amps. 2 foglights running to a 20amp fuse is more than enough. You can actually run 2 foglights at 100 watts each and still be good.
The suv was up for sale a-few months ago but too many people were requesting additional installs for the GX so i put the sale on hold. I will relist soon.
