Hey buckin. I just got my teeth kicked out by a maple spring pole. I was in the dentist from 5 till 930 last night. But guess what I'm saying thanks to you.... I'm just thankful to be alive. And I'm in a good damn mood. Love you all.

G'day Buckin, I had to smile seeing Bear claw bent over as a seventy year old debarking that log with the Spanish Basque axe whilst you were busy filming and talking, that's a man used to hard work 👍.

Since you and BearClaw are spending more time together, it would just amazing to see you video BearClaw porting.
He is an amazing technical craftsman and his soft spoken words are pure gold to everyone porting.
He is an part of logging/falling history and should be captured and shared for this generation and future generations to come.
I would love to hear what he thinks!!!

I am old enough for Brian to be my younger brother. I enjoy his measured approach to expressing himself. Still I enjoy listening to you rattle on about many things until they are balled up like a pile of twine. Good guys, good video. Keep at it.

I learn so much from watching Brian! His movements are smooth, just what is required, and nothing more. No wasted effort or energy. I am sure that is what decades of experience teaches you. Even though I've got five plus decades behind me, I am still learning by watching others who have mastered it! Thank you for sharing this wonderful gentleman with all of us! Love and blessings to all...

I've run a Stihl 461, 462, and 660 (among other saws...a 572XP). The 462 is absolutely my favorite, that power to weight ratio is amazing, and not too cumbersome even when climbing with it; however, I completely agree with it loving "smaller" wood. The perfect Stihl 462 setup is a muffler mod, with 8 tooth sprocket, spinning an 84DL chain (25" bar). Here in the southeastern US, I don't need much more than that very often, however when needing a 36" bar my old 660 is definitely the better saw for that length.

Nothing better then a Buckn video before a days tree work 🌲. I picked up my 500i yesterday. And well what a saw like it cuts really good as a stock saw out the box I'm very pleased with it . It's feels like my 660 for power but just super light . Great to see Brian on the channel I enjoy hearing his opinion on things such a wealth of knowledge! Reminds me of the fella who taught me how to fall timber and work on saws. Great video mate keep it up!

The 461 is just a beast for its class. 462 in my opinion is a 24-28" bar killing machine. It's lite and it's fast in the smaller wood.
Big wood and longer bars the extra stroke +2mm in the 461 takes it.
    No replacement for displacement.
    462 bore x stroke 34x52
    461, 36x52
    Makes all the difference.

I’m mostly depressed now honestly, in 2019 my family and I lost literally everything in a inferno of a wildfire and trying to recover from it and than my favorite neighbor moved who was my best friend and I bought her truck from her before she left so it meant a lot to me than 2 weeks ago I rolled it and I don’t know if it’s fixable it’s not looking good and so many more problems every day, so I don’t really remember what it’s like to have a really good day and to be so happy, but it’s really nice to see you so happy and your cheerfulness it helps me plus I love to cut firewood and mill boards. I hope you and your family are doing well!

The most valuable part of your story so far is your sobriety, I haven’t gotten to that point yet where I believe in a higher power. You doing it at 27 gives me hope that it’s not too late. I’m taking your kindness message to heart, trying in everything I do to make people feel loved. Anyways I got a GBA boys axe, immediately starting splitting because why not. Hi Buckin ! The new saws (462, 572) have the same style carburetor as the old school adj versions. Basically you have “a little man with an orange screwdriver” constantly adj the h screw for best performance.... that’s it ! Now the internal porting is different on these new strato charged “air leak saws”. They actually inject raw air into the cylinder via another set of ports that “hold” the fresh charge from entering the cylinder for a .001 of a second (or so) such that the exhaust is cleaner (epa pollution crats!)... Both Husqvarna and STIHL are giving the customer a more powerful stock saw cc for cc than the predecessors ... If you look at a 372xp or a 440 you are getting about 5.3hp outta the box whereas the 572xp and 462c give ya about .5hp more . As far as torque you can make these new models stronger than the old-school by a fuzz simply because the carburation is superior. I can tune a carb with a screwdriver so they rip but I simply cannot beat software and a servo doing it ... be nice 👍 .... ruclips.net/video/Yy5yy0re4Gk/видео.html ... straight goods thru wny hard maple - feel/hear the powa ... she’d go thru BC balsa fir about 1.5-2.0x quicker .... outskis 😃

A few mods to the 461 makes a big difference . 371 /72 husky and 461 both excellent saws .

I had an 041 super. Then traded in for a 310. Shouldn't have traded and just kept the old one just to have it. I wasn't disappointed with the 310 at all though. I've been running it for years, at least a dozen. Farm, firewood, clearing pastures. Rebuilt the carb once from the ethanol crap. Hand file every time.
Edit- that's exactly why I should have kept my 041 super. I just had the torque on the bottom end when needed. We get locust that's been down for 20yrs or so and hard enough to throw sparks when cutting. The 310 does good, but you can dull a chain fast in that stuff. Don't think I'd be much into the electronic saws.

The 461 is my personal favorite saw. But then again I have never ran a 462 or a 500.

Old saws are like old Harleys. Run and sound awesome. But new electronics one run smother with less issues with different fuels. Myself give me the old ones. Maybe someday I'll go to the dark side I mean new side. Lol
