Hey buckin I'm in a tree looking at this video
care mate hahahah
Me too bro, I’m on my stow away hammock eating a sandwich 😂
Looks like a stone edge ax but made of steel have a day love from TEXAS
What would you recommend for a light duty, but fairly usable axe/hatchet? I just recently moved and plan to get a fire pit and a smoker. I won't be using an axe day in and day out, but occasionally. I would like something relatively affordable, but fairly easy to use and maintain. Thanks!
Hi Buckin
Hold the phone... is that Pine? Come on man
My first video was the laser beam axe, never stopped watching since then
As someone who never really did any serious wood splitting ive learned a lot from these videos. Have a good day friends
+1
Nice axes.
What can she do with the bolt?
Greetings Pit
hi buckin, how are you? Today i finisht restoring my father's ax, wich left me 2018. A nice little choppingaxe we had with us for camping. I will use it for my campfirewood. Thanks for you inspiration, lets make this world a good place for everyone! cant wait for the next sunday life feed, bro.
Yes sir let's do that. Chop wood, and carry water...
You Swing that Axe with Authority and some times with little effort. Either way, the Wood Splits. 👍
"We got axes that are here for business . . . now." Hilarious. Love it.
Wow, so close to 200 k!! Keep sharing the love guys and girls
Thank you so I can't tell you how much I have learned from you! I'm a woman living off-grid, I've cut down a couple of trees, and split. Well, I'm 63 and short. my splitter broke so now I have to do hand splitting. I have a Friskar x270. Question ? What kind of ax would you recommend for someone like me. Again, Thank you so much for all that I've learned from you! Still learning.God Bless, with many Blessings your way.
Outstanding vid
A buckin special is on my want list
I'd love to have one too... any idea how we can send a request in to him? Not sure if it's something you can just order up or if he only does it for certain reasons
@@Uzixk Here you go Josh, have a look on Billy's site. www.buckinbillyray.com
It's on everyone's want list lol
Hello Buckin! Where have you been all my life. I also love axes and saws. Really enjoy your videos and all the kind words. Love from Norway
I love old steel. Most of my favorite billhooks I use for fencing work in the UK are at least 100 yrs old. They hold an edge, easy to sharpen and work hard all day long. They are underappreciated pieces of working history from a time almost every town had a different take on the perfect billhook.Good video thx..
Boy thats sure some more pile of wood. About what l had last month. I could of had more took 4 days on logsplitter.
Hey buckin
Good evening, everyone, I hope your keeping well and safe, welcome to all the new subscribers and a shout out to all the true blues, have been a bit pre-occupied over the last few months but its good to come back and see such a thriving subs base. some nice splitting axes at work but I do like the double bits.
me too hugh
Hey Mr Ray thanks. Split my first stump after watching you. I loved.it. my god its therapeutic. Anyway ...a genuine thankyou for your videos.
Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed.
Ecclesiastes 10:10
Hey Buckin, funny story for ya. I’ve been wanting a couple vintage powersaws since I started watching your videos - namely a MAC 10-10 and a Homelite XL76. Well yesterday I finally found a sweet Mac 10-10, runs beautifully. Today my co-worker asks me if I want another old powersaw, brings it over and it’s an XL76 that runs like a top! And I been grinning like an idiot for two days now haha
I can relate I'm addicted now😂 in 3 months I now have 20 power saws😬 my most recent being the pro mac 10 10 and xl 130 both in immaculate shape and cheap, and just rippers!! Also 2 of the best sounding saws ever made. Oh yeah.... just bought an Ole husky hickory axe today!! @BuckinBillyRaySmith
*That's some impressive axe throwing right there. bet the little GoPro wasn't even skeerd. haha*
Love you brother! From Warminster, Pennsylvania
I really love these videos, a city kid just trying to learn and grow whilst making friends
Would be to cool to see you have your customers (like Bryan) have a swing with those restored beauties. Teach them your technique and what not. You make it looks so "easy". Contrasting that with someone less experienced would be interesting to see. I'm still new to your excellent channel though. So maybe you've done that a bunch already and I missed it. Keep up the great work, regardless.
Matthew, this guy can split and he can work! I'm older than him. My dad (depression era rural farmer) taught me to swing an axe and a hammer, but I grew up in the city. So because of experience I am by most measures an amateur. Lots of guys here can split well. I'm the perfect person to put out there next to him. And I submit that 50% of his efficiency is "aim". When he puts that second blow into his first entry point and he is within a 1/16", that is axemanship. See that on every swing? Dead on, not to mention he puts high energy into those swings which is deceiving.
@@2-MuleTeam Of course. I wasn't suggesting he couldn't. Simply used him as an example. My next door neighbor is 81 and splits circles around me!
Matthew, nice! Good to have you here and to share stories. Thanks!
Can anyone link me where to buy a good splitting axe?
Brian has a lot of wood to split! Definitely have to pace yourself! That axe throwing was deadly I love it!!! 👍🏻👍🏻✊
Hello Bucking, thank you for the video the evening was entertaining and educational at the same time. Best regards from Germany my friend !!! 👍💯🌲🌲🌲

Nice axes buckin! Lovin all the vids buddy have a great day!
Am preparing my sons first axe and into the bush we go next week.... He gets to fell his first tree..! (Bancroft Ont.) Thanks for what you put out there and the energy you send it with.
all about the profile
Wow!! Cummillusbummulus ! Lololo, have a great day guys and girls
Wow that's a nice axs
Holy crap, Billy, that axe is a bladed ham!
Hey uncle Billy. Good to see you. I have a question about splitting. Is it easier to split green wood or to let it sit for an amount of time. I understand that the species will vary the time but what is a good average? Thanks for everything..
Billy... You need to know this... You are a far more impressive Wood Splitter then Mike Morgan's 3000 PSI, 7 HP machine any day of the week... Love you Billy God Bless you
Axe you know what I mean 😉
Very nice axes. Thanks for the lesson sr
Its like no effort for him to chop wood
"Give love"
After a couple of weeks of watching Buckin Billy I’ve already re hung two axes, it always feels great to work with your hands when you have the chance too!
If you haven't already made one could you please make a video describing the different types of axe heads? I know the difference between a cutting and splitting head but when I hear Michigan and such I'm completely lost. I love you power of positivity message and it's why I subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the videos, I've learned a lot from them.
"its not that bad" as he laser beams the wood with no effort compared to the other head lol. buddy i think the phantom bevel head needs the edge straightened out and sharpened, then it'll be perfect.
Super Axt
I am not interested in the live feed but here absolutely
Atta Boy Buckin! Keep up the great work & keep them vids comin. Excellent content!
I can't say how much I enjoy these splitting videos. They're the best. I've run out of wood to split at my house so I'm going to put out flyers in the post for free chopping services because I can't get enough!
That’s great! I bet there is a ton of older folks that would really enjoy your services 👍
Nice axes.
What can she do with the bolt?
Greetings Pit
😁
Mom! The man from RUclips says he gonna throw an axe at me! ☹️
Great information! With the knots👍😄
You single handedly made me want to start "restoring" axes and hatchets, been a carpenter for over 23 yrs and this is right up my alley. I'm now on my 8th axe and I'm hooked, thank you for the inspiration friend
Hey friend, you still into restoring axes?
God bless you and your family, keep pumping out those love waves
Love the jersey and tazzy patterns
It's 4:30 a.m. and I'm thoroughly enjoying your videos. Thanks for all the pointers. I have a ton of 36 inch rounds with lots of knots to deal with. Wish I would know what you've forgotten. I'm thinking about getting a Fiskar X27 instead of wedges and hammers. Thanks for your presentations.
Buckin what would be a good axe to start with I’m looking for my first
Welcome to the new subscribers and a salute for the true blues... that old pattern is the most common splitting axe pattern we have here....top vid ol mate , jerseys are also a nice looking axe .....especially Hafted onto a Buckin special... keep safe everyone... be kind ... love n hugs for our cynthinator and mama buckin...😎👍🇦🇺
keep it up, Friend buckin'!
Thanks for staying positive and steady on content! Much love Buckin
🌲🌲🌲☀️ Billy ray Smith Love you Brother so much 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Buckin' you've encouraged me to fit new handles on 2 of my axes today and clean 'em up- ya rock bro, Thanx 4 bein' positive!
Great content today, Mr. B.! A vicarious thrill to see you systematically work your way thru the yard full of rounds and reduce them to firewood. I’m too beat up, @74 and 22 years of Rugby in the rear view, to get out myself and emulate, but it sure is fun to watch! Love ya, yer attitude & message are an inspiration every day for all us older codgers. Newbies, welcome and stay tuned, this here’s a special place! Do somebody a favor, pass it on/pay it forward, and never forget that LOVE WINS😁👍❤️❗️ Everytime!
hey, its possible to change a little bit a choper axe to a splitting axe by sharpening it???
Thanks!!!! Great videos!!!!
Buckin, you may want to tune up Mike Morgans axe... The Morgans latest video. Check it out. Love the Morgans and the Buckin family.
Some beautiful axes and Brian’s looks fantastic! That’s not going anywhere but into wood 🤙
...what do we see in the back of the truck?....is that a Pioneer instead of a McCulloch?... :)
In the south billy we called those a "Maud" axe or hatchet.... my bigmama used to carry one... they got popular during prohibition!
Old women carried them sorta as a power symbol... haha no one wants to believe now a days that the old time women WERE NO PUSHOVERS.... An "abusive husband" wouldn't last too long. He'd wake up with his ears sewed to the mattress, haha I won't mention what would come next! If he was lucky he'd just have an accident and fall in the well. 👀 but then the well water tasted funny and the cows wouldn't drink it😂
Love you buckin billy
Enjoyed the video all the splitting and the narley knotts, good to know how to Run with the knotts loved it thanks Buckin
wow .... thx for your video !! the european splitting axes are so different.... i look around for your type of axes !! sorry for my bad english !! have a nice day, greets from lower austria, christopher
!NICE! talk about early 1900,s Axes,,,Dose it get any better???
Cont. most of the wood I have up here is some pine, cedar, and mainly juniper. Thank you again God Bless. LOve your videos
When I was in high school I was cutting and splitting wood for my to be inlaws. My future father in law bought me a Monster Maul, solid steel, because I kept breaking handles LOL. Going back to an axe was like swinging a hatchet
What do I have to do to get one of those deadly, cheeky, coni-ish Buckin' specials for Christmas? I love splitting wood and I'd love to swing the magic that is a Buckin' special.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels and I will be honest I don't even own an axe. Love your message too. Thanks for the entertainment and knowledge.
Where does one snag one of those sweet Buckin Billy Ray ford pickup front end t-shirts??? didn't see them on the website...Keep up the good work!
cumulonimbus . those big vertical storm clouds. check out arcus clouds
Big fan of your videos buckin! Sure wish i could own a fancy axe like that myself!
I've cut firewood for my shop since I was a kid, but had no idea about the different styles of axes. I've always used a mail to split out in timber. I would love to find one of these splitting axes but there just not around here in southeast Nebraska?
I have an antique one like that that was hand forged, you can tell that it was forge welded together, I didn't know that it was a spliter.
Hi bucken I just want to say what’s happening out therein the world I agree with you we all bleed the same blood we breath the same air and don’t forget why we are called United States of America’s love you man your awsome
soo thinner the profile easyier the cut but also gets stuck more and thicker the profile less stuck alil less split
Love watching Americans split wood it looks like butter I live In Australia trying to split white gum is hard as fuck some blocks are sort of easy to split others the axe or block buster bounces ack over your head or you hit it so hard out of anger you just break the handle but love you videos dude.
Just seeing that round red steel gas can with the yellow rubber spout sure takes me back to better and brighter days....☺️
Hey how are you doing friend so I grew up on my grandfathers farm on the weekends and summers till he passed away it was actually one of the last working farms in Bedford New Hampshire yeah and I have I’ll say at least six if not seven old exes from the farm that need restoration is that something you would be interested in doing for me let me know please
Nice Axes Greetings from Germany Peter
Im from Europe and I'd like to know how could i get a hold of that axe, are there any online websites where i can buy a similar and quality axe or do i have to go to a blacksmith and show him the video and idea of what i want?
How about the kelly axe? I have some old axe heads double bits my grandfather made years ago he was a blacksmith.
Haven’t been able to find that Jersey pattern head yet anywhere. Any idea where I could find this.
Buckin, is there any way I could get a 5lb axe similar to the wood bullet?
Three questions. 1) is he just a badass or are the axes just badassess? 2) where do I donate? 3) how do I become his friend?
That old timers ax is a total mess, tell him to take that ax and soak the proud part of the handle, the wedge end, in a tray with a little boiled linseed oil..And you're right telling him to get that crap (pin) out of the ax head.
My favorite newly discovered channel.
Welcome, Jeff!
Welcome, from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦
@@jeffreyrubish347 Thank you.
@@shapeshifter7753 Thank you from Tennessee U.S.
Nice to have you here.
How can we find an axe like this? I tried searching convex head - Im not getting anywhere
Your go to axe, is it a no name? I found one metal detecting, similar profile and want to get it cleaned up and rehung.
Good videos! Brute of an axe! Keep on cutting Buckin!
Hey buckin! Why are love splitting?
Every kid should be taught to swing and axe!!
That's mighty nice splittin a bunch of that mans wood for him. And fixin his axe to boot.
I learned some things from this video as well so LOOK AT ALL THE GOOD YOU'RE DOING MAN!
Almost makes me proud to be a human again.
Friends, I think our friend Brian has metal shingles on his 🏠, them r 👌 and not cheap
Why wouldn't you use a hydraulic splitter?
I would really love one or many of your axes I really can't find anyone who has great ones
