    (A deleted ending to Castaway)
    Tom Hanks: Here, I held onto this FedEx box for 4 years on an uninhabited island so I could deliver it to you... It gave me something to go on in my darkest moments, a small but undying hope that I would one day get back to the civilization and my loved ones.
    With trembling hands and tears in her eyes, the beautiful lady with wings painted on her truck opens the box. A brand new Bretling Emergency falls out.
    Tom Hanks: Fuck.

    Bit of trivia if you use the emergency signal and it used to save a life Breitling will replace the watch free of charge.

    • @Kit_Bear
      @Kit_Bear 3 года назад +15

      They won't replace the watch. They will only replace the internal antenna and service it but you need to agree to allow them to publish the story for their product promotion in publications.

    • @greamepenney5947
      @greamepenney5947 3 года назад +18

      @@Kit_Bear You have to return the whole watch, which by the way is two separate halves watch and distress system, and Brietling replace the module and service the watch at the same time return it back to as new condition and send you the watch back. Also as the module carries it own ID that also has to be done. Breitling will do this free of charge but only if the module was used in a real emergency situation. Setting off the distress beacon without an emergency can can carry fines and other legal consequences. And then Brietling will charge you to replace the watch. Also once activated the modul can not be stopped and the extending antenna can not be put back the whole module has to be replaced. The watch will keep time but the module will be dead as the battery dies after activation period ends. Plus the sub dials become inactive on the analogue version of the emergency mission watch until Brietling have reset it. I should know as I have 4 diffrent emergency missions and I had to use one one when a fried got injured while climbing and we had no signal for cell phones.and yes you do have to register with the purchase a separate contract from new to own a Brietling emergency mission watch that has a separate terms and conditions for use of the distress beacon.

    • @greamepenney5947
      @greamepenney5947 3 года назад +1

      @@Kit_Bear there is also 3 version of the emergency mission watch by Brietling most common are the digital and then there is a analogue version and also the first versions carried twin antenna later models have a single antenna. And bonus extra if you use the distress beacon you can actually stop it by either wrapping the antenna extension around the watch or to cut the copper extension. This does not actually stop the emergency broadcast but it reduces the transmission to were it cannot be picked up by the emergency services. And as a extra bonus extra the new emergency mission is now also dual band transmission system. Unlike the originals that were single band transmission.

    • @greamepenney5947
      @greamepenney5947 3 года назад +3

      @@Kit_Bear And as for an agreement the only agreement is for the use and terms and conditions for the use of a personal distress beacon device that Breitling has no control over the legal contract for use and ownership of said device. Brietling do not use any emergency situation where there watch is used as a distress beacon were peoples lives are in danger to be used in any publication without consent from the registered owner of the device first. As a owner of many different Brietling watches and the proud owner of 4 diffrent emergency mission watches and one of the few people to of actually used one in a emergency situation. Apart from Breitling themselves I do think I know what I'm talking about.

    All I want to see on this watch is the damn alarm vibration. I've watched hours and hours and hours of these videos and they get SOOOO close while showing you how to turn it on. Buuut then they move on! Frustrating!

    Did some trainee watchmaker service this thing or what? The 3 & 9, sling with the minute hand and logo are all horribly finished.

      There is a thing called ELT (Emergency Locator Transmitter) and I think they actually ARE fitted to the airliners. They are a stationary-mounted kind of the satellite emergency beacon which will turn on either manually or if the shock sensor activates.

    I would love to see a video of the development of the Universal Geneve Cal. 69. Is this Movement still relevant? I think the Pole Router has been neglected throughout history and deserves a bit of re-focus from it's origins and the era that it helped usher in. Thank You.
