  • Today a great friend of mine and expert clinician discusses intimacy avoidance, childhood trauma and infidelity. While digging deep into his own training and education James also shares masterful insight from personal experience with his own trauma and avoidance. Have you ever wondered why your spouse, particularly the unfaithful spouse is super avoidant? Have you ever felt like your partner refuses to allow you to see them on an intimate, scary level? Maybe your partner is just avoidant to the point of alienating you and other family members? Or, perhaps they were avoidant with you but not with their affair partner? Today James and I will do all we can to explain it, help you heal and offer insight into why your partner may do what they do.

This is good. Definitely childhood needs were not met. And my husband had an a major enmeshment with his mother.
Intimacy anorexia is real and it is devastating and it erodes the relationship. I need help trying to understand being neglected for so many years. Trauma is understatement.

It’s so good to see James go off track, now that I do do, especially in this constant state of trauma.

@@samshealingpodcastExcellent job for sure. I dismissed the first video I watched because you friend used actor. To me it felt like we're watering what was done. Glad I came back. The video about the consequences was really good. Guess that was on a different channel.
