  • In this video, I delve deeper into the "buy less, buy better" lifestyle by discussing trousers. I start by defining my own personal style, which I like to call "preppy wanker," and share tips on how to define your own style. Then, I go through different types of trousers, including jeans, chinos, dress trousers (hot and cold), shorts, swim trunks, and athletic shorts, and share my ideal fit, color and brand preferences. Join me in building a sustainable and stylish wardrobe!

Have you found any chinos similar to Informale's? I love the back flap pocket in particular, but in general they look perfect. Only problem is I don't think they'll fit since I usually need a true 28 or 29 waist.

Hi mate, there isnt anyone I can think of that does the same kinds of details. Tons of other chinos out there (I have a few videos about them). Maybe Rubato, Casatlantic, The Armoury? All have similar options.
Informale does fit TTS though and i thought they made a 28?

    Hey Sam,
Would love your thoughts on Christian Kimber. I have a pair of Chinos I just got from them, I like the slubby material and the overall tapered fit.

Hey mate, I haven't personally checked them out yet! Do you think it's worth me looking into? What things from them do you like?

@@jessupsays i reckon it's worth it. Their focus on quality like Informale is what drew me to them.
Their Fitzroy jacket is what they're known for and I like their chinos.
James at their Fitzroy store is awesome, I know he'll look after you.
I'm based in Melbourne myself and love your work, I'd love to connect!

I'll have to check them out a bit more seriously and see what I think! Always keen to see if there's something worth investing in!
I think the fact they don't produce locally has been a sticking point so far. But at least I'll have a look.
I'm on IG, shoot me a message. Or if your ever at Informale I'm often there on weekends.

@@jessupsays if your in australia, you got there sweatersaustralia, they offer ansett, geccu and possum merino. Their most expensive is possum merino cause its made in new zealand. Its much more expensive than their ansett cashmere merino v neck jumper.

Luca Faloni, Pini Parma, Loro Piana, Brioni, Canali, Finamore, Incotex (Chinos), Zanone …
Basically Italian menswear brands, granted the prices will higher but so will be the quality.
Also Drakes and Private White which you already know.

    • @jessupsays
      @jessupsays  Год назад

I see your point, but you kind of made mine as well. The price is higher, but IMHO the quality is somewhat comparable. Sure Loro make the best Knits in the world, no question (and fabrics generally). And the other brands all are very well known and established. But from my perspective they go past the point of paying for quality, and you're paying for Luxury at that point. Were money no object I'd wear a Loro Cashmere most days of the week! haha who wouldn't! Mmm cashmere.
The Italian brands are super well known and established, but I dont feel as though they're offering "value" like the 3 I name my Holy Trinity! Plus it sounded cool too so theres that.
PWVC is definitely up there for me as a top brand. And Drakes have their things that they're the best in the business at. Though I feel as though their Quality:Price Ratio has gotten a little worse in recent years? But that could just be my perception.
