Im getting more settled with the night vision scope and thermal. Put a big dog fox down behind the ear in the long grass of my lambing paddock other night. Cleaning up a few. Have you ever seen the film, 'Predator'? If not, then go have a listen to the sound the 'Predator' makes. It's uncanny timing, same noise and just at the time of the kill!

    Two things I noticed straight off in your video as a farmer standing on wrapped bales is a no no and walking past a sheep with it head through fence if it’s stuck or not you would have thought you might have knocked it back . But otherwise good video’s

    • @simon6ppc246
      @simon6ppc246  11 месяцев назад +1

      I will say this on a positive comment, as soon as i put the camera off i went to the sheep and it backed away with its head nice and free, also i have shot off round bales for years and never ripped one but if i had i would tape up the patch with the tape the farmers use if they ever rip a bale so no harm at all done my friend. but i understand that some folk have to find fault or look on the negative side of life.,

    Hi Simon, Could you tell me why some shooters take out Hares ?
    As a shooter myself I don’t understand it, they don’t do the damage rabbits do and they bred very slowly in comparison.
    Ps I got some Sierra 69 grains and my Anschultz loves them with RS40 2830 fps. Haven’t matched your 100m groups yet though.
    Keep up the good work protecting those moorland birds 👍🏻

    • @simon6ppc246
      @simon6ppc246  11 месяцев назад

      Ye pal over here hares are still classed as game and can legally be shot in the day at the right time of year i am 99% mind ya as the law changes that much but i just don't shoot them personally as i used to watch them as a boy when there just wasn't as many about and have always enjoyed seeing them, in my next vid on soon Hartley my mate is literally 10 feet off me in the day and just knows i am no threat to him.

    Simon, do you agree on your shooting position(s) beforehand , with your clients? Like sitting on top of the hay bales?

      Ye the farmers really really want the foxes shooting pal so they don't bother where i sit to be fair but i never damage the bales either.

    Do you or the farmer make use of the fox fur for coats?

    Excellent work. I'm guessing that was the fox cub in distress on the FoxPro, is that a sound you particularly favour this time of year?

    Great as usual Simon, can I ask you what volume is not too much, or too little for the caller, I know this is a tough one, but any advice would be appreciated! Thanks Simon!

      No problem Tommy i never blast it out full volume as don't forget foxes they say have 200x better hearing than us also don't play it to long, that night i used mine 3 times in 4 hours and twice it worked.
