Lamb Protection Warm Up For Me And My Best Mate.

- Hi every one, here in the UK Crows and Magpies can cause devastating damage to the rare nesting birds we have on our moors for example Curlews, lapwings meadow pipits and many many more, they also predate on the song bird population ,also around lambing time the crows will peck out the eyes of the new born lambs while they are vulnerable just after birth and even at times while the Ewe is giving birth crows will peck out the eyes and tongues of a lamb, so as a pest controller our laws let us control them all year round, here i am using a 223 rifle as the crows and magpies can wise up avoiding traps and keeping out of range of air rifles and shotguns at times. Any disbelievers please feel free to google and see the damage for your self. cheers.
It always puts a smile on my face when I see Jack out enjoying himself helping you. Thank you Jack you're a top lab. Love the out takes, and as always the expertise in shooting. Take care my friends 👍😷👍
Thank you Andrew ye the old boy should be around all this season for sure.
get a tear in my eye , when i see Jack work... all the best
Thanks Al i know what you mean.
I just love watching you dispatch those devil birds. And the smile on Jack's face when he brought you that last one was precious.
Thank you Kmot.
Really enjoying having the microphone switched on, to hear the larks and curlews is wonderful. By keeping ontop of the corvids they have some chance of rearing a brood. 💪
They do indeed. An old Gamekeeper told me once, that if you hear a curlew calling its alarm call. Have a careful look around you. It has seen something like a fox long before you will.
Thanks pal you are 100% right there
I love to follow the breathing
Great to see the old boy out and about again, and Jack of course. Superb shooting as always and loved the out takes. May there be many more of the same.
Thanks Harry ye hope fully we are on another farm at the weekend.
Great to see Jack again, a man and his dog can’t stay apart for long :)

Nice shooting Simon. Love the way you can see when Jack has spotted the pick up with the way his tail helicopters.
Thanks Paul ye we can both read each other as we have honestly spent the last 12 years together at home and in the shooting field.
Haha absolutely brilliant, you can almost imagine Jack thinking, "check this out Dad I'll balls it up again for you, that'll be another take then !!!" Top job as usual Simon, love the shot on the crow hiding behind the post, boom, sithi 👍
Thanks a lot Jonathon.
I like your attitude and demeanor in respect to your professional trade it's unique hope in coming weeks I can meet you on the Yorkshire Moors for a chat , I can recognise some of the areas you have permission , you have a valid service many a farmer would love to have in their back pocket, we will talk soon.
Thank you Raymond
Good to show the actual size of a crow. That beak is no joke , A near perfect tool on a very clever bird.
Thank you George ye they can be bad news this time of year.
Great vid as always and always great to see Jack.....all camo'd up and tail wagging. Love the outtakes at the end too and after a pants day at work this vid is definitely the 'feel good factor' for today. Thank you as always for sharing mate.
Thanks a lot Geoff and very much appreciated, i often think when i do these vids if any one really will be interested but ye its good to read comments like this my friend and you stay safe.
Great shooting as always Really great to see Jack enjoying his work Thanks for sharing 👍
Cheers Frank no problem at all.
Seeing this brings a tear to my eye, remembering my old lad Woodie. He was a black lab in my 20s -30s . We hunted like nobody could stop us as a team . His last hunt was a couple of pheasants that appeared on our farm. He did his job as always and we got both birds and he was in his glory! That was his last hunt and hurrah!... he passed two weeks later at 12 yrs and 2 weeks old. Keep at it mate, predators and pests have to be kept in check for wild and domestic animals. I do my part as l can still go afield. With deepest respect and admiration, always, farmer john
Awww so sorry to hear this Johnny, i talk to a lot of people on here now just like you and me and the story's i hear are so sad yet we all still get on with it, this could be Jacks last season to be fair but will have to see, thank you any way and very much appreciated my friend.

You're are great team and I love the videos.

There's something comforting about an old dog. It's like having a conversation with a bearded sailor, you know there's wisdom behind those eyes.
Ye i know what you mean pal its just like when you talk to your grand father they always say things wise but silly at the same time.
@@simon6ppc246Yeah exactly. It's great to see you guys out taking care of the pests. Cheers from across the pond.

What a way to make my heart throb! I love Jack and the retrieves! Oh by the way, great shooting. Black labs are the best and I have a very large spot in my heart for them.
Thank you William i to have pal Jack is my second lab and have spent the last 12 years with him up to all sorts
Hello Simon and Jack of course, please do more of the outtakes .
great shooting mate as always,
that crow behind the post was a cracker.
Stay safe ATVB.
Thank you Hunter to be honest i think i have two types of viewer looking at my analytics some that watch for the shooting and the others for Jack so i will if i think it looks ok as me personally think there is nothing worse than when channels kind of put to much on of the same thing and it can go stale as so to speak.👍
Well i’m personally quite happy with the shooting as I enjoy doing the same thing, but it’s is nice to see a man’s working dog doing what he loves to do .
So for me and i’m sure a fair few of the other viewers we are just happy to watch you doing what you enjoy too.
stay safe ATVB.👍👍
What a pleasant surprise watching you two again and I see the old guard has plenty of courage, am I right Jack?
Lol cheers pal thanks for watching.
That was a great shot, by the post, but the outtakes at the end, were priceless, and good to see Jack enjoying his craft 😎
Thank you John.
Dude. Great vid. You need to give more commands and praise.” Lay down…good boy”

Wonderful to see Jack back out!! He hasn't lost his touch!!
Thanks Deacon ye he still loves being out there for sure.
Hello my friend. Thankyou so much for sharing your outing with us, especially Jack. What a beautiful boy he is.
I loved seeing your rifle. If it wasn't for you and others, suchlike as me would be none the wiser. The ballistics, accuracy, technology and expertise are just fantastic. Hitting something at that range, so small, with breezes, wind etc. Just absolutely fabulous, great to see and witness.
Loved the watch, thanks very much and best wishes. Oh and errrr, give Jack a love too. Cheers, lol.
Thank you so much Ian its comments like this why i spend hours and i mean hours editing and filming the videos 👍
@@simon6ppc246 Hi Simon.
Thankyou for your reply and great to hear from you.
Can I ask you please, with great respect to you, and any rifle shooter reading, I hope this isn't a stupid question.
Over the distance you were shooting, would there be much trajectory for your bullet, or would it go in pretty much, a straight line?
I shoot legal limit air rifles, new to this great hobby, something I've always wanted to do. As a newby, I've set my rifles to thirty yards. I'm finding that extra ten yards, at forty yards, can be a real question mark.
The pellet doesn't have the same engine, and any wind/breeze around, would have more of an impact in-between thirty and forty yards.
I'm finding the further distance a real challenge, and really need to do my homework before shooting live.
Thankyou, Ian.
@@ianwoods1384 This day the bullet had around 3/4inch drop so really wasn't an issue but if you watch some of my older videos the bullet can drop may be 30 inch and blow 6 inch to the right in the wind so then it can get a lot more complicated pal
Good shooting as alway, the crow shot around the post @ 3min something was excellent marksmanship 👍
Thank you Johny,
Thanks again Simon for the video, nice to hear voice and commentary. Jack is a wonderful a lab
Many thanks!
What a shot by the fencing! You know we love Jack. What a great post. Be well. And Jack too!
Thanks again Daryl we should be back there this week end if the snowing stops believe it or not.
Life in the old dog yet mate,
Nice to see you both back out 👍
Thanks David.
The "silent movies" era was nice, but very nice too you decided to enter the "talking pictures" era. Listening to the way you hold your breath before pulling the trigger adds a lot to the suspense and as always, your shooting was superb! All the best to you and Jack.
Cheers pal.
Glad to see your mate having a good time. Ain't nothing better than a good dog. Jack looks sharp in that outfit. I'd pay hard currency to spend an afternoon in those fields with the both of you. I bet I'm not the only one.
Thank you my friend and such a nice comment👍
What a great marksman. We just had to put our lab down so watching you with your pup always makes me smile. Oh yes I know Jack isn’t a puppy but labs never grow up. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Ray and i am sorry to hear about your lab...
What a boy jack is great to see him and I little sad to see he's struggling
Wish he could have some of the energy of my 10 month old lab
Ye its bad news Steven but i still give him his tablets that do help.
Nice to see the old fellow out hunting again….and you brought your dog too! 😀
I miss my dog so much when I see your videos.

He sure is pal.
Dog Will Always Be Mans Best Friend... treat him/her with respect and it will be the best thing you ever did...
100% Kyle...
Jack looks so cool in his camo jacket.
Ye he was quite trendy Robert lol
I seldom comment on any video, but your marksmanship is fantastic. I enjoy watching you shooting and your old friend, as well.
Thank you, Bill, much appreciated.
Old friends are the Best friends! Glad to see Y'all back out together!
Sure are John thank you.
Another very enjoyable vid. Great.
Thanks again Geoff
Nice shooting, great vantage point so your mate can lie and watch all his playground 👍 😀
Cheers pal ye its a good spot there for fox as well.
Good to see Jack in the field with you. From the out takes, he's one happy puppy when he's out with you. He still loves to work. Nice shooting. The shot to the left of the post was a great shot. I guess the only good magpie is a dead magpie. Looking forward to the next video already. Give Jack a pat on the head from me......
Thank you my friend we should be back there this week end first light if the snow stops that is lol.
Lol great video Simon as always brilliant shooting glad to see the star of the show was on form looking forward to the next one cheers Simon you and jack take care mate 👍👍
Thank you Mark i sure will.
I have a beautiful male fixed cat that fetches birds. He watches the direction I point my pellet rifle. When the bird falls, he is on it before it hits the ground. I mainly shoot on the power lines on my property. Being a respectful pet owner, I’ll pluck all the feathers I can. Then he eats the bird. This happens once a day. My killer cats name is Charles. Love your video and seeing Jack working.
Thank you Allen and say hello to Charles from me and the Star of the show.
Haha love that you have decided to put in audio........ . Mainly because of Jack's playful groans/moans he does in the outtakes, a very happy, goofy old pup. See you next time.
Lol cheers Nuyna.
Great video Jack, Thanks for this :) You should bring Simon along with you every time, he's a really good shot, you know, but don't tell him I said that, it might make him over confident! LOL.
Lol thanks Reg
I enjoy watching you two work
Thanks so much John.
Watching you videos are so relaxing thank you
Thanks Samuel
Nice to see your longrange hunting 👍
Cheers mate
Allways a pleasure to wacth both of you! Keep up the good work!

Thank you Stuart and very much appreciated my friend hope fully Jack should be ok this year and may be next but if i have to i will take him in a wheel barrow.
