Can’t argue with your results 👍 it’s nice to see a little British humour and language hopefully you’ve not offended anyone 😂😂 Thanks for the time you’ve taken to put this together and keep them coming 😊👍 Looks like a nice club to be a member or to visit Kindest regards Carl
Thanks Carl, yes mate, exactly that. I am unapologetically me. There's no censoring here, there's nobody telling us what we have to say.... Our family doesn't own a gunshop, we don't get sent guns for free for a good review. Just a genuine, no bullshit look at real world accuracy..... if something is sh!t, I'll tell you. Thanks for watching, and please subscribe. We are aiming for 2 videos a week, 1 review and 1 other, so there's plenty to look at!! Haha Thanks again!
That was very interesting. I've seen test done with ballistic gel blocks and really didn't see much different in channels or expansion on recovered pellets. Would have been interesting to see that JSB diablo pellet, but it sure looks like the Hades did what it is designed to and at only 12 FPE. I may have to try some clay testing on my channel because I dismissed the expansion of these pellets from the test in ballistic gel and lack of expansion. The JSB Hades from what I have seen are as accurate is the Diablo's. Some of these pellets designed for know out end up grouping poorly. PCP's aren't as pellet fussy and piston guns can be generally.
Good stuff mate, very clear results. It's just a shame that my guns hate Hades, if I shoot groups with them it looks like I took a shotgun to my target.
Good video buddy , I shoot slugs at 58 foot pound through my gun and when they hit , they hard hard and expand loads. I agree that pellets expand well in sub 12 although I have found the Hades don't expand much in .177 ,there is a definite channel but not as pronounced as the .22 .
Hades in .177 are pretty useless mate. In .22 they seem pretty good. Yeah, slugs are 100% the best ammo to use in powers over 35-40ftlbs, being spin stabilised rather than drag stabilised. Thanks for your comment mate, keep watching!!!
Like the vid mate . Good stuff . I am loving me some Zan 23 grain through my Red Wolf and 28 grain through my Epic 2. I agree with what you say about pellets too , I use 25,39’s through both guns and they are bang on accurate but only to about 120 yards , after that they seem to over spin and start to spiral, they are fantastic for hunting although they are mainly a bench rest pellet , they still work for hunting and cause massive wound channels . Anyway , good vid mate , I enjoyed that 👍👍
Would love to see the results of FAC PCP as well. Got myself a Vixen long .22. The Hades are great, and just started using slug. However I wonder if it's worth it. Cheers from NL
@Phunkitup in order to run lightweight slugs effectively in the vixen youll need to raise your power a fair amount, as the 30ftlbs or so that youll have is too low to stabilise slugs. Get an FX impact hammer spring and hammer weights, reem out tour spring adjuster half a mm to accept them, and then turn your regulator up to 160-170 bar...... thatll help, a lot. try the 21gr H&N .217 and the .218 slugs........ Yours will prefer one of the 2.
Interesting, try a mako slug ( only in .177 ) I believe 10.5 gn an in my sub 12 practically turn inside out an dump energy. But like you said whatever you use has to be accurate!
Hiya bud have tried the Precision Ballistic Mako slug I remember a couple of other channels having really good accuracy with them it would be interesting to see how they fair in the clay test, either way enjoying the channel so far
@alex79buckland I tend to shoot long range outdoor buddy, so I'm always on .22..... But I have had some makos sent to me, so I'll try them soon! Thanks for the comment!!
@@AirgunmarksmanofficialI remember seeing pontypool pest control tried them and he said that they were good he does alot of FT shooting aswell as pest control, I haven't tried any slugs yet I only got sub12 in 177, 22, and 25 which I hadn't done anything with before but thought I'd give it a try for some types of shooting
I've been a Airarms deablo field fan all my shooting life due to them being accurate ,the gun shop said use Hades, I thought he was just trying to sell me some pellets he could not shift ,I took out my Vixen in.177 and was hitting crows with head shots and some flew off for a few yards and then dropped, so I tried the Hades and boy you could hear the difference from 56 yards away and the crows just dropped like a stone ,and the good thing is the POI was the same on both pellets so no need to re zero my Arken Zulus LRF scope ,do you think you could do the same test at some point but in .177 ? Thanks and new sub as well 😊😊
Great video...I feel like this is one of them videos that should have been out a long time ago... people swear by slugs and slug liners for their fx rifles etc etc .... alwasy thought pellets were better anyway and from what I've seen (I may be wrong however) I beleive pellets are more accurate
From my experience of slugs, they are far superior at higher power levels and at further ranges. At sub12, at sub12 ranges..... out to 60m say.... pellets are the way, at the moment.
@Airgunmarksmanofficial without a doubt think as we're in the uk the majority of the consumer base will be using sub 12.. I do see a fair amount of sub 12 users swear by slugs though seems odd to me
They also do some 16gr in .22.... but they're lead free. So they're rock hard!..... but they have a better ballistic coefficiency than a pellet, so should have a flatter trajectory at the same fps and carry more energy downrange.... BUT, slugs 'drag' a bit more in the barrel, due to the increased contact area, so they may not be ideal.
You might see the same results from a wadcutter like an RWS HOBBY at that distance - for more realistic hunting simulations perhaps try a small container like a plastic yoghurt cup with cured gelatine in fronted by a thing layer of balsa (skull/brain). Put some loosely balled up cloths behind that to capture but not deform the pellet. You are likely going to find that the wad utter is most dramatic but they are crappy in the wind. Hades and slugs won’t do a whole lot more than a good round head at < 600 fps from expansion perspective but the Hades will probably make more of a mess of your simulated bunny head. Wet paper, water, clay are stiff and non elastic which the gelatine can simulate.
Yeah, the most horrid flat head pellet would give a similar result in clay, but they are dogshit at any kind of distance. As you can see, the hades opened up and dumped much more energy than the diabolo. Which is similar results to what many people speak of when they use hades, short range on pigeon, for example. I'll be filming some hunting trips soon, and we can open up some skulls and see what's really happening..... Thanks for your feedback.
Any decent pellet at the right weight that the gun likes and the right speed will do the job .shot placement is the thing that counts .so called high damage pellets are used by people that are piss poor shots .
@omegaman3001962 it's about making the shot count, being the most effective we can be with such a low power limit. If a 'high damage' pellet is most accurate in your gun, why wouldn't you use it? It makes no sense.
Now do the same experiment at 20ftlb and you’ll see proper expansion not a slight 1mil mushroom….from your experiment excepting the hades clean small wound from Diablo and slugs more likely to cause slow painful death for any quarry (inhumane)
No bubble burst here mate, i havnt got a dog in the fight, im just reporting on our finds...... Even so, It is still a good representation of how different projectile designs act in contact with a material. We have tests with wood, fruit, water and even pest carcasses..... some we have posted, some we havnt..... Thanks for your comment.
Great demonstration, bit hard to argue with the results.
Thanks mate, exactly what I thought..... plain as day.
Thanks for the comment!!

Great info mate. Love it straight to the point and no bullshit. Your on to a winner
Cheers mate, I'm trying my best!! Thanks for the comment, please remember to subscribe!!
Great video bud, just subscribed as a result.
That's why I use the Hades in my Walthers. Pellet on pellet at 30yds all day long.
Spot on buddy, thanks for the sub!!!
Happy shooting!!
That'll be why the local rabbits hate the Hades. Thanks for that
That's it mate!
Great video, would be interesting to see .177 comparison with the .22 in terms of expansion. I know accuracy is key regardless but still….
Will do mate!! Thanks
@@AirgunmarksmanofficialI think you’ll be even more surprised with the 177, H&N Terminators are pretty shocking if I remember correctly.
Yeah, there's a few pellets out there that aren't much use for accuracy over 20m.
Brill humorous content, look forward to more and hope the channel grows
Thanks mate, we are trying to deliver a bit of accurate, real world information whilst being lighthearted but honest.

Consider trying tins of Spam or bacon grill END ON as testing media, the tin replaces bone and the spam tissue.
Nice side by side example
I think so mate!
Can't beat a good comparison!

Great video, what is the name of your club please . results on the clay is impressive.
Hello mate, our club is Airgun Marksman, we are near Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Use fishing line , thin , or thin wire to cut apart
Didn't have any wire on me, and was miles from home.... so had to adapt haha

Should've used the predator polymags they'd have really shocked ya lol
@yotehunter3468 I've used them mate, but I can't find a gun that is accurate with them past 30m.
Yes

The walking about on the range is hard on the eyes, you need camera stabilisation.
I have a really expensive gimbal...... absolutely hate it.
Might try it again just for you 😉
Thanks for the comment mate.
Just use a steel thin wire that works just perfect
Run the slugs over a chrony I'm pretty sure the 25g x 20g will be doing around 9.5ftlbs and below in a sub 12 there just to heavy
The slugs will be running slower due to the extra weight and the extra contact area with the barrel.
Any decent pellet at the right weight that the gun likes and the right speed will do the job .shot placement is the thing that counts .so called high damage pellets are used by people that are piss poor shots .
