Love this!!! There are so many little differences in technique compared to the ways I know how to build shields - I might have to 'borrow' a few of them for my next build!
Also, I love the amount of glue & fabric layers there are in this build - this thing will last for years in HMB, and decades in HEMA!

@@TheOStandsForBerserker just the normal PVA-glue. It should NOT be watertight, caus then the different layers wouldn't stick to themselfs that good. ;)

Is the rope and canvas, I guess, a historical thing or a buhurt thing?
    Thanks.

Canvas has been used, but not as often as complete raw-hide cover and more prominently on Paveses. The rope - and edge enforcement in generall - wasn't a thing. In medieval ages most force came from stings. But today you are only allowed to strike, so the edge is much more stressed and one of the first things that gets damaged beyond repair. In addition an authentic shield usually lasted between 1 and mayby 3 battles. I suppose you also want to use your shield more often ;) .
