It'd be pretty cool if you could redo the reefer unit into a generator or central heat/air unit and then turn the trailer into a stealth camper once you added the side door. It's big enough to have everything a camper has and you could even have a little garage in the rear for a small car or even a trans am one day. It would save you money on hotel rooms for longer trips & as well as all the extra fuel for towing the camper with another vehicle.
Dear Kody Smith. 👍👌👏 That sounds like a good and smart idea! Maybe even simply put in an old camper trailer would be a fast and relatively easy, inexpensive solution!? Best regards, luck and health.
It would easy to get an old shell off a thermal king and stick a generator in to power a roof mounted ac unit. I doubt you'd see a low profile unit that high on the trailer.
Hey Mark really enjoy your content. I was in the food trucking industry 1970's on. TK units are heavy and refer trailer units have a beefed frame on the nose of the trailer to handle the extra weight compared to dry trailers. You may want to peel the inner skin from the nose of the dry trailer to reveal the frame work. That way you know what you are dealing with before you attempt to mount the refer shell. Many times the refers would break the refer frames on the trailers just from bouncing down the road. We would fabricate cheater steel frames that would mount floor to ceiling and side to side on the inside of the nose of the trailer with out removing the inner skin. Then through bolt the refer to the new frame. Those refers are heavy and beat up the trailers frames. Hate to see you drop that refer on your nice restro going down the road. Keep up the good work ! Cheers Luck Dog
Digging the highballin’ movie poster on the shop door. doing the trucking community a tremendous service with the love and passion you show for what we do! Thank you sir
When ya paint it.. you won't regret using a role of blue painting tape. Best stuff ever to cover those decals without destroying them. 😉👍 sticks and comes off clean.
Us Canadians are a hearty bunch Working outside in the snow ain't nothing The more y'do the warmer y'are Just don't sweat!!!! Can't wait to see that wrap Keep givn'r Mark
I like the wagon picture you put on the trailer very nicely done you can make tons of money doing pictures like this the wagon picture was beautiful it reminds me of the Wild West I know others would like the same thing and some may not but the detailing of all of it is fantastic it is a very exciting job you were expressing yourself to others God bless you keep on encouraging others they will help them to learn from you you're a God's blessing angel thank you so much
That's cool 😎 that you found the suspension and Themoking setup . I commend you for all your hard work and Keeping Smokey and the Bandit, along with The Snowman alive .
Possibly mount a quiet 2000w generator in the Thermo King to run lights and a Coors fridge in the trailer. Also, run 12v to the lamps in the TK gauges and status lamps. Just some of my dumb ideas. Really enjoy this channel.
Great finds Mark big shout out too the guys helping find and get you the parts for the trailer !!! Lots of comments about living area in trailer ! That would be awesome ! But in a curb side door for your access too them !! 🤔 can’t wait for the next exciting episode ! Roll On !
Looking great! Can’t wait to see it when it’s done. Did a bit of digging and turns out this trailer was most likely a former CP Rail TrailVan trailer. Hence the red wheels and the extra bracing for the Mi-Jack cranes.
Dear TwinStick Garage Mark P. 👍👌👏 Congrats for your newest purchase! I absolutely love to see and especially hear you acting happy. I just remembered the times when you was working your freezing butt off in the snow. Not only therefore I say it again: You earned and deserve each and every view and subscriber! No doubt about that! Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health in particular to all of you.
Love the show like the fact ur not scared 2 try things weather they fail or succeed can't wait till u start working on the trailer great show as always really learn alot by watching ur channel !!!! And remember "if u got it a trucker brought it"
Im gonna click on ur patron page and purchase some of ur merchandise I drive a truck and right now freight is down but when it picks back up I plan on supporting the channel!!!!
Beautiful but it's a beautiful truck can't find anything like it because they're made sturdy when the owner puts it together God bless you and thank you for sharing you did a wonderful excellent job to describe and the outlets of it I like the colors and expensive hopefully others can do the same they can also learn from you how to build a truck you're wonderful thank you so much God bless you and all your traps for putting together looks very very fantastically nice happy New Year
Don't know why my emails didn't go through but glad you found a set of axles closer to you. Don't know Steven personally, but always enjoy seeing his trucks on Facebook and chatting with him time to time for help or just about the old trucks.
“Come with me, and you’ll be, in a world of OSHA violations…” 😁 Excellent finds there, Mark, and a couple of awesome supporters too! Dude, you’re really getting there with this build 😎🤟🏼
I’d be willing to bet the guys commenting about how they miss watching you wrench in the snow have never actually wrenched in the snow themselves!!!! Nothing fun about windburned face, snot, numb limbs and stiff fingers…. Im happy to see you working in a warm shop.
Ben watching since you started LBL such amazing process watching these ol work horses come back to life and be retored keep up the amazing work Mark can't wait for LBL and snowman to be done and for the cabover to be started maybe next year? Love what you do brother again keep up the amazing work
I couldn't help noticing the lack of visor and clearance lights on your pickup. Perhaps a future project/episode? Keep up the good work! Your projects inspire me to tackle some bigger jobs I wouldn't have considered in the past.
I'm so glad I discovered your channel! I've always been a Smokey and the Bandit fan - ever since it 1st came out when I was 13! I got my dad - who was a traveling salesman - a craig CB radio with twin-trucker Hy-Gain antennas to install on his '71 Caddy Fleetwood, lol! I also had a Hy-Gain base station with a Turner power mic and an original CLR-2 base antenna on our house.
I love that comment about working out in the snow. You definitely please all your fans, don't you? Lol. By the way, nice job on "Iron Duke." Once you get the bugs worked out, the hydraulic cab lift it will be very nice.
Double check the movie there Mark as the wheels on the movie trailer might match the light gray/aluminum paint the rest of the undercarriage had. Good theory on the initial flip idea but sometimes our inner MacGyver fails us and our inner Red Green takes over.
Smokey and bandit truck and trailer will look truely awesome 👌 your doing a brilliant job nice to see something come back to life again .I be nice when u start on iron Duke. I love cab overs especially when thay look like one from bj bear .stay safe from united Kingdom 🇬🇧
Well done Mark well done. You could have used a 4’ 4x4 under your chain while you where unloading it from the trailer and got enough lift to flip it over. Just a thought for future projects. Having a neighbor with a Bob Cat helps though.
You will probably never have to flip another set over. But if you had put a railroad tie upright on the end closest to your truck and run your chain over that. It would push that end down and stop it sliding and pull the other end up and over. But a couple of beers to a neighbour is probably as easy.
Your execution just forgot something that the loader provided! I drove tow truck for Steve up in Athabasca a few years and you learnt a lot about pulling. A 4-5ft 4x4 pyramid in the middle of the dolly with your chain running to the top of the 4x4 from your dolly to the Ford probably would have got it over. The 4x4 would have given you the leverage you needed that the front end loader brought in. I can’t believe the amount of work your going to for this project but I support it. Your friendly b and r eckels guy!
Great entertainment boys and their toys .I too have gotten a little ahead of my self so excited to get it home surprise I am indeed of more work than my project sometimes.Great post
Flippin' turtle! Huge scores Marc, the big stuff is home. Sweet bogies. Not to be a hassle, but those red Dayton's on the trailer are smooth inside wall which is what the movie trailer had...aagh!
Done? Haaaaaa, ha, ha, ha! Now that's a good one! You are right, with any such project, it's never completely done, there is always something to finish or to add or to fix. Yep, that is just what you need for the trailer, a Thermoking refrigerator shell. I'm sure it's built stout, everything back then was built to last. Having the proper equipment sure makes short work of a job. That looks like a pretty solid trailer tandem, it's going to look great under your trailer.
Great video brother. I believe thermokings serial number tells the date of manufacturer. From memory, first 2 numbers are the month, next 2 are the year. Looks like yours is May of 78. Look watching you wrenching on old iron🍻
A couple real minty scores on trailer pieces there Mark!!!!! Pretty sure way back in the day some of those reefer units had the fuel tank attached to the bottom of the unit up front but they likely moved em under the buggy to spread weight around.
I'd add steel to the ends of that bogey so it fits to slide rails under the trailer. I'd check the bushings in those torque arms and the spring hangers.
Mark from my past experience with trailer tandem I'd unhooked old ones and fit the new ones onto the trailer 1st before you rebuild it..should be a couple of welds at the rear of the rails on the old unit that you remove and the old one will literally slide off the frame and you should be able to reverse the same to install if the new one will fit.
It would be cool if you could stuff a window ac unit or heat pump in that thermal king unit and vent into the trailer. Then run it off an inverter for your truck shows.
Mark, you know I would bet if you reached out to ThermoKing, they would more than likely be able to look after a few "goodies" to make the unit look functional. You never know until you try.. Stay Safe!
The only thing I see you missed is when you were on your way home and got out to check the tandems on your trailer and shook the tie down chains you were supposed to say " That ain't goin nowhere ". I'd be surprised if you wait till spring before you finagle those tandems in your garage and start working on them so they're ready for spring or you could TwinStick it and do it outside this winter,
Mark, you took a BIG chance welding that trailer hitch while connected to your truck, that is full of sensative electronics that are vulnerable to short circuit, hopefully you disconnected the battery on your pick up truck?. Great video btw.
I'm pretty shure Peg got something in his eyes when seeing that, stop saying he's crying, you are not him. BTW I'd square the tandem out and drill a new set of holes to lock it or even just bolt it instead of welding it, I hope the sandblaster dude makes a come back for the underside of that trailer. for a winter job you could clean up the reefer shell and lay some paint on it. cannea wait for progress
AMEN on the Thermo king im sure glad you found one beautiful truck How's Fred did you get him a couple of cheeseburgers yet LOL much love to you and Mrs. twin sticks
Awesome to see this one again and that you'll have the trailer as close to the movie one as possible. On a side note was excited that my wife got me a Project Snowman T-shirt for Christmas. Keep up the amazing work Mark! Going over to Patreon now to see what new goodness is there.
Best show in a while! You were definitely in your element. And to your Canadian audience, for bonus points, whatever happened to Bulldog Beer? And a brief history. Thanks and take care. Best Wishes for the new year.
You taught me something Mark I did not know there was a Canadian spread. I would not worry about it not being a reefer trailer. You paint it up that will be enough.
Would have been easier for Mark to use the Peterbilt to drag the tandems off the trailer. Can't wait to see the videos of restoring the tandems and installing on the trailer. Possibly block up the trailer and use bottle jacks like a house mover does when moving old houses.
Guy up the road has a collection of trailers. I bought one but there's like 4 left 2 have the refer units on them other 2 do not. They are old trailers decent shape though were used as storage containers. 17:36 yank it like peg did to get cement truck out. That worked but was brutal to watch. It's good your neighbor came over probably knew you're strugglin
Mornin Mark, Just love your redneck thinkin, When you use what you got to get something done, it doesn't matter what it is just as long as achieve the same result. I think those tandems are going to look great under that trailer. I might have found a set of rings for your air cleaners, not sure yet I have to go check them out in person, They are on a 66 Kenworth and I think they might work. Great video Mark, Tell Mrs. Twin stix hello from us, Have a great week pal.
You should make a false wall of beer so that you can move it out the way and if you make a rep of the bandit car you can park the bandit car in there and take it to shows
Later try to get the refrigerator restored and installed correctly That will be wonderful. Do the springs too! You might need to use the trailer for something bit heavy
Every day at my work I always walk by a museum quality of that exact Thermo King refer version you have right there but in a different color. All it needs is a battery and fuel and it will fire right up. In fact it is steps away from where my office is.

Thats actually a awesome idea
A 'built-in' motorhome for Truck shows and such with no need for separate accommodations - 'Mint!' ;)
It would easy to get an old shell off a thermal king and stick a generator in to power a roof mounted ac unit. I doubt you'd see a low profile unit that high on the trailer.
Love this idea!!

Keep up the good work twinstix
"This is either going to be spectacular or embarrassing"...exactly how I live each day Mark!
Those would be a great t-shirt or sticker
"Spectacular or embarrassing" is riveting RUclips content.😂 Other than being "almost" Friday, Twinstick is the highlight of my Thursdays.

Thank you for the video Mark, i'm glad you find what you need for the trailer. Take care of you.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda,didn't...but gott'r done anyway...lol.
"Way to go Mark"! Never a problem, just an unfound solution!! 👍
Good stuff Buddy
Digging the highballin’ movie poster on the shop door. doing the trucking community a tremendous service with the love and passion you show for what we do! Thank you sir
I’m really glad you were able to get that set of tandems. The old ones bothered me from day 1. Thanks for the video!

“Come with me, and you’ll be, in a world of OSHA violations…” 😁 Excellent finds there, Mark, and a couple of awesome supporters too! Dude, you’re really getting there with this build 😎🤟🏼
Love the Diesel Creek reference😂

This rig is looking great!!!!! Very true on the projects never being done. When you put that trailer on it is going to just knock it out of the park!
I couldn't help noticing the lack of visor and clearance lights on your pickup. Perhaps a future project/episode? Keep up the good work! Your projects inspire me to tackle some bigger jobs I wouldn't have considered in the past.
Great video . Glad you got the parts you need to for the trailer. Come on Spring. Can’t wait to see the work begin on that
Can't tell you how excited I was to hear about the trailer. Keep up the great work
So awesome your fans pitch in and support your project, the power of the world wide web made this possible,
Your enthusiasm is contagious ... luv the videos and the support you get from followers.
Hey Mark, You are doing a great job on the truck and trailer for Smokey and The Bandit. The trailer had Alloy Dayton wheels on it.
Thanks for sharing.

A gin pole.

Cool episode Mark, very funny🤣. I like your way of thinking, where their's a will their's way. Good work👍

Nice job !!
Nothing like a cold one , after or during a project ! Cool video ! Thanks
Flippin' turtle! Huge scores Marc, the big stuff is home. Sweet bogies.
Not to be a hassle, but those red Dayton's on the trailer are smooth inside wall which is
what the movie trailer had...aagh!
Congrats Mark, on getting the old reefer and trans/tires for ur trailer.. it will look awesome.. happy new year mark..
You need a 25' concrete pad out in front of the shop to work on the trailer, Mrs. Twin Sticks won't mind lol
Done? Haaaaaa, ha, ha, ha! Now that's a good one! You are right, with any such project, it's never completely done, there is always something to finish or to add or to fix.

Have a Happy New Years Mark to you and the Fam see you next year in 2023
Hey Mark nice progress on snowman been here from the beginning keep it up. Shops are a blessing to work in but not everything can be done in a shop
Can’t wait to see you start on the trailer 😁😁
Nothing better than relaxing after 3rd shift to a TSG vidja
Mark from my past experience with trailer tandem I'd unhooked old ones and fit the new ones onto the trailer 1st before you rebuild it..should be a couple of welds at the rear of the rails on the old unit that you remove and the old one will literally slide off the frame and you should be able to reverse the same to install if the new one will fit.
Hi Mark. Do not forget the spare tire holder!
A safe bet to say. You may sleep better now that you've acquired the 'bogie' and TK unit you wanted for the trailer.
Stay Safe!
Liking before watching 👍
Awesome find brother Awesome contribution for the build !!! It's coming together great !!!! I hear the excitement in your voice lol !!!
Looks good coming along now you gotta take 3 feet off that trailer. Because snowman was pulling a 45’ trailer in the movie. You got a 48.
love the project, and love your excitement and passion. matt from the uk
unbelievable video.
The only thing I see you missed is when you were on your way home and got out to check the tandems on your trailer and shook the tie down chains you were supposed to say " That ain't goin nowhere ". I'd be surprised if you wait till spring before you finagle those tandems in your garage and start working on them so they're ready for spring or you could TwinStick it and do it outside this winter,
That's a cool addition to the project!! Congrats Mark and Happy New Year's !!
BTW I'd square the tandem out and drill a new set of holes to lock it or even just bolt it instead of welding it,
I hope the sandblaster dude makes a come back for the underside of that trailer.
for a winter job you could clean up the reefer shell and lay some paint on it.
cannea wait for progress
You need a Coors after all that good work. Cheers.
AMEN on the Thermo king im sure glad you found one beautiful truck How's Fred did you get him a couple of cheeseburgers yet LOL much love to you and Mrs. twin sticks
I like the look of the spread axle
Awesome you got the thermo king and the trailer axles now you just need the spare tire carrier for the trailer lol looking good on the rig man
Mark pull wheels nto garage start know thats winter project cant wait know you will do amazing job tim
Not worried at all as the movie trailers were fakes too 😂
Congratulations on your find. Could have did a compilation with Peg and picked up those tandems with the gin pole truck. 😂
Would have been easier for Mark to use the Peterbilt to drag the tandems off the trailer. Can't wait to see the videos of restoring the tandems and installing on the trailer. Possibly block up the trailer and use bottle jacks like a house mover does when moving old houses.
lol omg I loved the dismount off the trailer that was awesome
You should make a false wall of beer so that you can move it out the way and if you make a rep of the bandit car you can park the bandit car in there and take it to shows
Later try to get the refrigerator restored and installed correctly
That will be wonderful.
Do the springs too! You might need to use the trailer for something bit heavy
Might be a good idea to have a cement pad installed in front of one of the doors to be able to pull the gantry out.
Every day at my work I always walk by a museum quality of that exact Thermo King refer version you have right there but in a different color.
All it needs is a battery and fuel and it will fire right up.
In fact it is steps away from where my office is.
Same here in australia old fridge vans are found in farmers fiels or as billboards haha
