The best episode ever, all three of my favorite RUclips truckers. Looks like you all had way to much fun, hope we can see more of you guys together again.
I’m 20 seconds in and hear that Peg and Dallas will be joining you. After a terrible week, just hearing all three will be in this episode just turned my week for the better. Mint 👌 And meaty arms Jalbert too? Damn!
The new tandems look great on the trailer. Another reason for moving the tandems forward on the trailer is to make reduce the trailer turning radius for better maneuvering in tight situations.
That's great how well it worked. Also interesting to see the wrecker and its history. Jamie Davis was so proud of the General and its history on that show, it's kind of surprising he got rid of it.
Jamie sold the General as the truck needed a lot of work and he wasn’t interested in putting the time and money into the truck. The truck still lives on today sort of. The current owners took the wrecker body off of the general cab and chassis and installed it on an International cab and chassis. I believe the frame on the old GMC General truck was a bit too far gone but at least the wrecker body has found new life again. I do agree that it is curious that Jamie sold it though considering the history behind the truck
the trailer is going to look great. coat of paint and mud flaps. can't wait to see the end result. you can be proud marc of what you have already achieved. smokey and the bandit lives on. greetz from belgium fan of your videos...👌👌👌
Back in the late 90's I had a 73 chevy one ton wrecker with a Holmes 480 twin boom recovery unit on it. That was the handiest damn thing to have around! The ultimate power tool! I miss that truck!
Wow Dallas' 1801 Holmes wrecker unit is a legend in Canada with roots at both Jamie Davis and Mission towing. I believe the General had at least 2 years on Highway thru Hell after Jamie brought the General back home where she belonged. -- a mechanical beast of a wrecker. A Holmes tree rigging maneuver was used to drag the new bogies under the trailer, albeit a ford pickup was used as the anchor since no tree was in the needed area :)
Do this all the time at work. Great dane dry vans. Can swap the whole thing in about 3 hrs with a bumper jack and a fork lift. We rebuild what we can on the old bogie and buy new frames or axles if they are bent. Have atleast one prebuilt one around ready to go.
That... was... awesome! Well done! My guess is that Dallas would have charged $1000 for that job, $2500 if you just watched, but since you helped, $5000. Same principle as an automotive mechanic's hourly charge. 🤣 Looking forward to seeing more work on the trailer and on Bandit One.
Hi I remember Jamie Davis wrecker that was a strong wrecker and mostly it was Cam that operated that truck to see it still in service that’s great take care stay safe G.Whyte
Big job done, no more guessing and stoked it went well. Hang onto those red wheels if you can stash 'em for the future - never know what may become available...
🤔 hmmm ..now I know what's missing....I'm gonna have to order me a twinsticks garage coffee cup...to complete my weekly visit to the channel...now why didn't I think of that sooner
Great job love your work 👍 I noticed when you put the Snowman under the trailer, it looked to have free play in the 5th wheel jaws, might be something to look at before pulling the trailer down the road. Keep up the great work, I enjoy every video 😁
Setting the tandems that far back is gonna be a pain trying to turn-especially right-hand turns. I think the movie trailer might have been 45ft Good luck! Sweet episode.
Thanks for the Thursday lunch video. It’s great to have friends that help with your projects. Hope you liked the picture of a way to get a 4th truck lol
Mornin Mark, Well that was the easiest tandem swap I ever seen, that was slicker than piss through a glass funnel, and you had zip ties there, no explosions, fires or anything bent! The trailer is on it's way. I am really looking forward to seeing the whole outfit at the truck show this year. Have a great week my friend, say hello to Mrs. Twin stix for us.
All your friends are awesome, because so are you as Charles Dickens said in a Christmas Carol a man is known by the company he keeps I should probably be changed to person, but I’m quoting him
boys and their toys !!!!! your neighbors must think your nutz….I’ve actually overheard my neighbors say the sane thing about me and my projects!!! Apparently I’m “crazy”. I take pride in that ☺️
That job went pretty smoothly with no issues and you are able to slide the tandems if needed since the pins fit nicely. FSC trucking could have used this kid when he had to remove the tandems for a trailer he was moving from Washington state to Wisconsin on a flatbed trailer
Looks awesome can’t wait to see the finished product! Good thing you didn’t have to weld the tandems, if you ever get into a tight spot you can slide them toward and it’s easier to go around turns.
Mark, you dropped lucky there bud; about time that your hard work paid off for you 😎 Great compadres always make for a great result, or at least a laugh-a-minute attempt 😁🤟🏼
How minty that Dallas AND our favorite Canadian swearing coach made a cameo appearance today. Totally surprised Peg didn't bring the horse head and wear it the entire time. I was also as stunned as Willard that he kept it family friendly language wise. Now i'm Jonesing for one of his greasy vidjas.
I think you should make the front half of that trailer like an RV so when you go on shows you can have the Trans Am and someplace to sleep in the back of it.
I used to unload aircraft seats at Boeing. The tandems go back, so the weight of the forklift hitting the rear of the truck at speed does no damage. We were fast. Gotta get the guy to his next load.
Pretty cool. I never knew that the tandems were only held in place by gravity and a couple of pins. I always thought they were "captured" in a secure channel of some design.

Professionals make it look so easy. Love it when he said, "well now what are we gonna do?" Just an awesome bunch of mates there.
Dallas knew what he was doing!
The new tandems look great on the trailer. Another reason for moving the tandems forward on the trailer is to make reduce the trailer turning radius for better maneuvering in tight situations.
It could even have been the same trailer, just for that reason. Standing, all the way back looks better. Driving, slid forward works better.
Badass video. Def something you don't see everyday. Badass way of doing that and in safe way. That was quick and very efficient.
Those hydraulic Holmes' are awesome backends. My dad ran a LTL9000 with a 1701. Was a sharp rig
That's great how well it worked.

Friggin Sweet!
All your friends are awesome, because so are you as Charles Dickens said in a Christmas Carol a man is known by the company he keeps I should probably be changed to person, but I’m quoting him
It's crazy how smooth that procedure went. I was waiting for Peg to start spraying ether everywhere and setting shit on fire 😂
Looking good mark 😎👍
boys and their toys !!!!! your neighbors must think your nutz….I’ve actually overheard my neighbors say the sane thing about me and my projects!!! Apparently I’m “crazy”. I take pride in that ☺️

Fantastic episode Mark...how good was that...can't believe how well the swap over went...cheers Richie...down under and down
Congrats man! Looks really good!
Man peg, tow trucks, and a first gen shipping crate? Needed more peg narration.
My favorite Canadians
Five thousand dollars isn't a bad price Mark.😁 Ok ever onward to the next phase, thanks for the video, that turned into a cake-walk.
Looks awesome can’t wait to see the finished product! Good thing you didn’t have to weld the tandems, if you ever get into a tight spot you can slide them toward and it’s easier to go around turns.

Don't forget to get the Coors beer boxes to go in there
SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT marathon on Sundance tv on Sunday
I used to unload aircraft seats at Boeing. The tandems go back, so the weight of the forklift hitting the rear of the truck at speed does no damage. We were fast. Gotta get the guy to his next load.
That was way to easy I was expecting it
Not to fit or a cable break cmon give us some drama😂jus kidding that was great Mark.
Pretty cool. I never knew that the tandems were only held in place by gravity and a couple of pins. I always thought they were "captured" in a secure channel of some design.
Me too I’ve never knew it
Years ago Mark they used to have those magnetic redheads they called them whenever you have to slide the trailer
The Bruce clip with the speed square...🤣
