I recently purchased a Bluetti ac180 and tried this. I noticed that even in park with the 400w switch engaged that the Bluetti would show a charge for a few seconds then reset back to 0. I could also hear a click in the Bluetti as though it was tripping. I need to do some more testing, but my hope here was the same. Either way, Pecron makes a 500w inverter that you connect to your battery terminal. You can run cables from battery into cab to connect to inverter then connect inverter to power station via solar connectors. This should charge over 400w while car is on and driving.

Hey everyone. It's nothing to do with the jackery. It's that toyota designed that 400w inverter plug to only work while in park. I'm not sure why but its the same on all 4runners that have this. Rumour is some sort of "fuel saving" reason. The regular DC cigarette one will work but I believe max is 100w out of it.

Dude I have had the same problem, its the details, I could not see it. My set up is with the Ecco Flow, fridge to Ecco Flow and Microwave to Ecco Flow. When Stationary everything works, put it in drive im at 0. I was not paying attention to the details, I went fishing at the skyway bridge in Tampa/ St. Pete. I live in northwest florida and charged the Ecco Flow the whole way down like 6 hours via the 100 watt charger, but my fridge was not plugged in. On my way home I had the fridge plugged in and nothing worked, im like looking for the fuse diagram and all this stuff! Its the details man.
Thank you for the video. Now I have a better set up! Dude get the microwave/ small one it will change your world- instant hot meals! lol .
    thanks!

1: jackery requires pure sine I have a Tacoma with the same inverter that inverter is not a pure sine wave inverter 2: Toyota has designed the truck to not be able to run 400w while the truck is in drive so you can't run a electric chainsaw out of the bed at 80 miles hour. If you go to the 4Runner forums there is a mod that you can do to bypass the 400 w turning off when the vehicle is in drive.

Yeah, you're pretty spot on, it's kind of annoying to be honest. It's not that the inverter isn't working, it's that the Jackery hitting the limit when in gear. The Jackery will try and pull ~96-130w, that's why you see it working a little bit initially and when over the 100W limit and it turns itself off. Using the DC in the rear would also kind of by-pass this issue by it changing in passthrough mode, but it won't charge as fast. I opted for a 12v USB adapter that caps at 100W max via USB-PD. Bit slower than I'd ideally like, but it's consistent which to me was more important

Hey Cole I just traveled from east coast Florida to west coast and I ran the Jackery through the DC console so whenever the engine was running and no matter the gear it took a charge. The Dometic was plugged into the 110 AC but every time I stopped and shut engine out had to remember to push the button and I did for get once. So yeah annoying. At least we can get power however if we do thing right. 😎

@@SarasotaTim Glad to hear. One day I'd love to do a secondary battery, bigger alternator, and update things a bit, but working around things for the time being, haha

Hey Tim. There’s a DC outlet in the back next to the AC also.

Hey Leti yes I know that and for that DC to work you must have that switch on I think. The console DC works whenever the ignition is on. Thanks for commenting 😎

Dirty power won’t charge power station. Power steering needs pure sine wave to charge.

Your problem is that The Toyota inverter is using modified sine wave while the Jackery requires pure sine wave.

I see. After purchasing it and taking one trip to Utah I no longer use it. It’s just sits. Probably will sell it. 😎
