Hey B 3 it’s simple and works. Platform would be difficult to get in and my nose would be in the headliner plus the Dometic wouldn’t fit. The lid doesn’t open far as it is but I can get in it. Building a half platform would be more trouble than it’s worth. As for drawers and all that stuff the Plano totes I have work great up top on the basket rack. Not as convenient to get to but, hey. 😂 Those opolar fans are amazing in every way. I bought a second one as soon as I tried the first one. Battery won’t die on low! ST, I have a poor man's Jackery, a Stanley FATMAX 1400A (I hope to upgrade to a Jackery in the future). I use the 4R inverter to keep my FATMAX charged with no problem. I don't have my 4R owner manual with me at the moment but, in park or neutral I get 400W, in drive it drops to 100W. I think if you turn off the vehicle and then turn it back on the inverter won't automatically come back on...you have to turn it on again. And I think if you go from drive to park...you have to press the inverter switch to revert from 100W back to 400W. I think it drops from 400 to 100 while you drive because other systems are pulling power while you're driving that aren't pulling power while in Park or neutral (not 100% sure about that). Also, if your inverter is putting out 400W both lights will be on (400 and 100)...if it's putting out 100W only the 100W light will be illuminated. Again, I don't have my owners manual in front of me but if my memory is correct (and my memory is always suspect) this is basically how it works. Great camping set up!

Your explanation was the same I’ve heard in the past from someone but… when Tammy got in the 4R and put it in drive the watts went from 143 to zero? @@SarasotaTim I used mine today. I noticed that when I'm in Park or neutral the 100 and 400 light illuminates. When I drive it changes to the 100W light only. When I stop and put it in Park I have to push the inverter button to get the 400W power back. I also noticed that at one point, while driving today, the 100W light wasn't illuminated (which surprised me). It may be that there is an internal safety that turns the car inverter off if overloaded or to prevent overcharging a device (just my guess). It did raise the charge on my power station from 12.9 volts to 13.1 volts. It might have charged more but it was only an hour drive and I think that 14 volts is the max charge on my power station.
@@morpheus1818 thanks for the follow up. The Jackery 1000 definitely pulls more than 100 watts so in gear after multiple tries the light just goes out. So looks like it’s the DC outlet only to charge. Dometic fridge is no problem. 😎
Hey Tim, I would void spray paint the Refletix because the paint will flake/peel overtime. Some people glue fabric on one side. I did this but didn’t work well either. I heard that rubber paint works fine and last longer. Safe travels:)
Hey Zoey they are called Plano totes (bins) Home Depot is where I got mine the large ones even Walmart sells the smaller ones. I got one of those too. Completely waterproof and they’re it the ones that say waterproof. They make them as well but these went all the way to Moab twice in tons of rain with no leaks. I was disappointed when I couldn't charge my jackery while driving. It did charge about 20% in 40min when idle. I have the dual solar panels, it was cloudy so I couldn't try. I wonder if there is some kind of power inverter you could plug in back there charging the jackery while driving?
Yeah it’s to bad it doesn’t work I was convinced by a comment a long time ago that it still works while driving but at lower watts. Thanks for commenting Guy 😎

I had a similar setup in a Highlander in across country trip and now have it in my Lexus GX. I use the same Opolar fans too!

The reason I was told it does not work is that the 4Runner inverter is not pure sine wave so the Jackery will not work.
