For the Paris thing, i guess it was the "Fête de la musique" (ENG: Night/Party of the music), it's an annually french celebration where people are invited to play / listen music on the street. The fact that (basically) no one worn mask was a big shock for everyone here as well. I think France is like everywhere else, a certain number of the population just don't really care / trust the media / health institution and we ends up in situation like this.

in Germany old solar fields are being upgraded. you can buy the panels for next to nothing. you need more but whit that much space i shouldn't be a problem

Congrat for your new land, ah yes, electricity you need solar panels and batteries, check one of them here ruclips.net/video/qtCo9R4DaVY/видео.html , I am building my solar power, so far I am using old batteries from laptops to make a powerwall, I think so far 16,8kWh and will be finished to about 56kW and will able to run off grid.
