The entire gun culture: "Glock should be innovative and create something new"
Glock: "Nah.."
If it ain’t broke
The problem is when people say that Glock should innovate and make something new is they can't hear them over the cash register ringing.
Hey, they made a .22 that doesn't work

I thought this was gonna be a glock polymer 80, like as a joke. 😂
same
The only reason I kind of know what to expect was because of one of Larry Vickers videos on a P80.
Nope, that's just the official Austrian army designation for it. Kinda the same thing as Beretta 92 vs. Beretta M9.
I bought a 17 directly from Glock in the late 80's after a Fed I worked with suggested I try out his new issue pistol. It fit my hand like a glove and it shot like it was part of my hand. I ordered one the same day and never looked back. I learned how to strip out magazines pretty well. I regret selling it when we went to the "new" .40 Glocks.
This seems more like something Apple would do. Re-release something for "nostalgia" for the same price as new stuff.
The iPod Classic would probably do well with a rerelease. I still use my 128gb model, it holds EVERYTHING.
Difference between this an the original iPhone, is this gun is every bit as good and reliable as any new glock. An original iPhone is a paper weight compared to a new iPhone. Take in mind people pays 1000s for 1911 clones which are way older than glocks. Glocks are today's 1911s as far as proven design and EVERY polymer gun on the market copying them. Plus I hate finger grooves on glocks and dig the old school look.
@The Weapon Collection extreme high/low temperature can degrade the lithium cells in the battery over time, can't imagine a battery swap being that complicated tho. I've heard of people swapping out the original 128gb memory stick with a 1TB stick.
Give one example.
Production and material cost is contemporary. Why wouldn't consumer cost be?

I’m not first, I’m not last, Merry Christmas and have a blast!!
The second pin was added for the .40 S&W cartridge.
40 years later and it's still considered a top tier handgun. Despite switching out guide rods and sights after buying one at a price higher than most other poly pistols.
I'd still say they have a ways to go to reach "Perfection" Regardless its ubiquity makes it a legendry handgun decently accurate and reliable, Just not cheap anymore.
Merry Christmas! ... All Day 2A
So many good points you addressed about this pistol... My first time actually shooting one was after the F.B.I. shoot out in Florida. Another officer that I worked with brought one to our S.W.A.T. training to run through a " Low-Light course we were using for training that day. After my initial run with a Smith & Wesson 686 ( typical for 1986 ) I ran through the course with his Gen 1 g 17... To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement...! The first standout feature were the Tritium sights, ( I had never seen them before this on any handgun ) they made it possible to engage the Hostage taker targets we were to engage, without the need of a flashlight... Second, I found of course the recoil was much more manageable than the full power .357 loads we carried, which made follow-up shots much faster and easier to transition to the other targets in the scenario. Third, and probably just as or most important. Glock Pistols shot everything and if loaded with factory ammo or quality reloads almost never failed... One big reason they saw Law Enforcement transition to this pistol was because of the 86 Shootout, for additional capacity, reliability, and ease of training ( going from revolvers to auto's meant no additional safeties or switches to manipulate ) At the time the big Two Smith & Wesson and Colt were riding high on their Names, and yet quality had suffered to the point, that they were no longer reliable... So, it was an obvious choice for those looking to up grade their primary pistols...
Reliability!? In what sense? It's a known fact that revolvers are 100% more reliable when compared to an auto pistol.
There's something awesome in a simple pistol. Basic, but good and always goes boom.
Glock's gen3 finish is the best in my opinion
Infinitely memorable from Die Hard 2 and The Fugitive
Merry Christmas my 2A brothers and sisters
My father bought 2 Glock 17 in the early 1980's. When he died I got one, my brother the other. I have carried it and shot it many times. Never felt a need to upgrade this fine weapon.
Maaan I've been watching these guys so long. I could watch Eric just as shoot a glock all day and talk about firearms history. Merry Christmas yall! 🤠
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Merry Christmas uncle mike
Merry Christmas guys:)
Enjoy. Next year will be a doozie!
HK made the first polymer pistol 10 years before Glock.
and they still hate you.
I actually really like this thing. if I didn't live in California id buy one. Merry Christmas
Got one of these as a present this morning! Can't wait to give it a spin!

@@GTFBITK >broken main pin and no ability to have a light
Honestly, the Gen 5 FS/MOS is pretty nice. Coating sucks ass but hey, it can’t be Perfection without having one major flaw
@@G19Jeeper Honestly, I have no need for a rail on any gun. If anything, it should be a factory option, not a standard. I never understood the reasoning for attaching a light or a laser. I’m never going to use one on a CCW. For home defense, my home is always lit enough to see at night.
While Glocks are extremely reliable, I feel like this throwback is just a medium to Glocks issue of their somewhat on going problem. They'll either make frames smaller, longer barreled variants, different grip styles between all the Gen's, the under-rail... Glock really needs to get into the rifle and shotgun market, at some point their handgun market is going to get stretched too thin.
I've always said that a striker fire AR platform with a Glock trigger would be sweet. Even something like a CZ scorpion or a Sig would be cool.
Good old, old school can't go wrong there.
We need a Stoeger STR-9 review!
Merry Christmas Eric! 🎄🦌 and thank you for your bravery, hard work, and dedication to our country. 🦅🇺🇸 And Informative and educational vids! 🏹🦌

Awesome. I’m going to buy one of those as soon as I buy a brand new 1984 for bronco complete with 3 speed transmission, 130 HP V8 engine that does 9 MPH with an 8 track player and hand roll up windows. Oh, let me not forget the cigarette lighter. 🙄

This is kinda like Dodge reproducing the 1970 Dart with the slant six...
bullet proof reliable engine like the Chevrolet stovebolt 6 cylinder.
I wouldnt mind if they made some older bodies just as they did back in the day. Unlike the "retro-makes" they've been doing. Would love to get a 2021 Chevelle LS6 (1970 non-retro)
I kind of like the GM 2.2 Ecotec engines. Easy to work on or pull out. I have plenty of work hours on mine 😂
The P80 is an intersting gun. Glad to see some more videos on it. Merry Christmas!
Polygamy barrel sounds interesting
Aka the mormon meathammer.

P320 is taking away so many Glock sales, Glock doesn't know what to release but they know if they release anything, people will buy just because its stamped Glock.
A reboot of an old original by the original manufacturer, thats freaking awesome!
Picked mine up a few months ago. Lipsey's & Glock did a great job on this.
Rest in peace Gaston Glock
Been growing up in the 80's remember growing up in a family of huge gun collectors. Everyone's saying who would want a plastic gun. Plastic guns are going to break I don't know why the cops picked them up. Grandfather he was an ex police officer. I used to have original box that was in my lunch box until someone else wanted it more.
Glock was by no means the first to use polygonal rifling, the method has been around since the 1850s.
I love it. Glock 19 gen 2 is my favorite handgun ever.
Correction, gen 2 19 & 19X. I love both.
Who else was rooting for the brass to get ejected into the P80 Box? It finally did, but Merry 🎄 Christmas
When hickock45 had a video on the Glock P80, I originally thought he was firing a polymer 80 80% frame
Merry Christmas Eric and Chad, and also the best wishes for 2021!
The first polymer-framed handgun was H&K VP70. Ugly as f, but still the first.
I think this is a cool gun for the range. Would love to see Glock release a tactical shotgun.
Thanks to the release of this P80, I sold my Gen 1 G17 for $1,000, lol
Rather have a gen 1.
Should of kept it lol

The P80, carried one as my sidearm on deployment. Great gun, never fails.
Because you never fired it beyond once per year basic practice.
The fact that glock would have new molds made for this project tells me that it's not going anywhere any time soon. Injection molding tooling is not cheap. They're going to make at least enough of them to cover the cost of the molds.
I hope they do a G19 Gen 1 next.
I had a Gen 1 Glock back in the 80's....and like a fool, I let it go. I may have to go back and pick up a P80 just to enjoy the nostalgia. Or do a Die Hard 2 redo.....

Eric spent the whole vid adding consonants but usually emphasizing the first syllable... like how Americans typically emphasize the second syllable in Garand -- neither is how either inventor pronounces/d his own name

Bigger than most single stacks, only holds 7 rounds....no thanks.
@@napalmstickylikeglue 43x with shield arms Mag holds 15 rounds
I stuck with a Walther PPS M2 due the slide action and reset but the 43 grip feels pretty good. The angle of the grip of the Glocks makes them nice
@@deathbymazda and the grip is long as hell.....again.....no thanks.
Why wouldn't anyone just go with a G19 at that point? Mags, sights, etc are cheap and plentiful....better sight radius....not that much wider....
@@napalmstickylikeglue So the grip on a 43x is “long as hell” when compared to a 43, but the width when compared to a 19 is, “not that much wider.”? Lol. You’re just nitpicking now. Go with the Sig P365 then. 10 round mag and smaller than the 43
Thanks bro, now I am looking up how to buy a P80 Glock. I have a Gen 2 but always wanted a P80. There goes my stimulus check!
the orig tupperware did not have the finger groove insert but a stright one. there where different versions of these early ones, also with space and holder for ammo.
Iconic gun just like the original CZ 75 with the spur hammer!
I thought p80 meant polymer 80 lol
Yeah....I thought so also.
Hickok 45 got me a few weeks ago when he did his review on it so I knew better this time
Same here.
I'm a S&W jframe fan own several glocks not sure why but they shoot where I point naturally seems that's not the case for others baffles me
I tried the P80 back in 1990 when they were realtively new to the Norwegian military. I have mixed feelings about polymer griped pistols as they have a completely different weight distribution that really affects the dynamics of the pistol in your hand. I got to run a pistol course with a assortment of different pistols since I was involved in some non-standard shit. I ran the coarse with a P-38, a P08, a S&W M17, a SIG P210 and a Glock. As a target pistol the Glock was challenging as it is a bit top heavy, but in combat shooting a lose grip made all the difference. Revolvers also tend to act better with a lose grip (at the wrist). Rythm is kinda important in combat, whatever weapon it may be.
He must have gotten his blood sugar in order since the 19 gen 5 review
Haha, It is funny. As a kid going to the range and shooting my .22. I could recognize a bullet that came out of a Glock, because of the odd shape of the rifling.
The no rail system will separate the men from the glockboys
If the pistol shoots good out of the box, you don't need all the tac crap.
I really wish they'd go back to the old box and ditch the speedloader
It's like buying a bare bone stock 1985 Chevy.... so exciting
Cool gun I picked one up for myself for Christmas haven’t shot it due to there only being 10,000 made thus far and No clear answer if they are gonna make more.

Lol thank you knew I wasn't the only one
JENNINGS had POLYGONAL RIFLING and were accurate as a rifle. MARLIN had microgroove which accomplished the same less bullet bite. Great videos.
was that " AHHHH YEAH@ a jerry m quote" lol
I like my p80! I've not shot it yet! The trigger pull is awesome!
*Gen3+ G17*
Nice, but deleting the second locking block pin was kinda stupid as it needs it for hot +P+ ammo that put out about the same energy as the .40 S&W round. They should have used the Gen5 locking block that only needs one pin or kept the twin pin arrangement. That said, it should not be hard to install a second pin as it appears all one has to do is drill the polymer frame for use with +P+ ammo, though I am quite happy with the performance of +P ammo with the latest bullet designs so can live the the single pin for that ammo. To be perfectly frank, I would prefer a Gen3 G17 with the finger cutout reinstated to make it easier to remove a magazine if there is a double-feed jam and a Gen5 locking block fitted, which might be called the "Gen3+ G17".
CNN is reporting that the explosion was mostly peaceful.
🔥 firey but peaceful. 😆
No he is a not a Leftist, he is an evil gun owner they want him locked up.
Love shooting Gen 1, G17. So simple, feels natural, so fast. Only thing that sucked was the original mags.

Dude you are crazy the beretta is wayyyy better than a glock 😂
Interesting trigger press, the instant it resets you press.
$600+ dollars?! Come on! You can readily pick up a Gen 1 Glock at most pawn shops for less than $300. I’ve got an original Glock 17 with 25,000+ rounds through it (still accurate... still going strong) without any failures.
