Yes I came looking for this exact comment or I was going to say it. My grandma started writing like that and it got to the point where she was no longer able to write them out at all. It’s so upsetting to see them lose their independence because of physical inability and to think people are out there preying on them on top of it and how they must feel when they found out they were scammed on top of already feeling dependent on others for things or having memory loss. A case under sections 420 (cheating), 120 B (conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code and Sections 75, 43 and 66D of IT Act was registered at Cyber Crime police station on Tuesday." A lot of them are just doing a job. Their primary role is to answer the phone then they pass you on to a "Technician that can help you more better". That's why there is normally multiple people involved in one scam. The person that answers the phone isn't the one that takes the money.

Scammers target the elderly all the time. Make sure you tell all the elderly folks in your life. Tell them that if need tech support to go to a local provider directly. I feel so bad for the people who are targeted. These scammers are some of the worst people.

A lot of them are just doing a job. Their primary role is to answer the phone then they pass you on to a "Technician that can help you more better". That's why there is normally multiple people involved in one scam. The person that answers the phone isn't the one that takes the money.
