I did a project on spreading awareness for scam calls. Always happy to share tips to save people potentially from losing thousands. Here are some good questions to ask yourself to decide if it's a scam; 1. Are they wanting an immediate payment over the phone, with vague threats about what happens if you don't pay? If yes, likely a scam. 2. Are they wanting payment in a specific form (gift cards, mail, etc.), rather than giving you multiple options such as card, cash, paypal, and bank, etc.? If yes, likely a scam. 3. Are they making vague threats over what will happen to you / your account if you don't immediately pay? If yes, likely a scam. 4. Are they getting annoyed or angry when you ask for further details, rather than immediately accepting you should pay? If yes, likely a scam. 5. Hooray; you won something! But are they wanting you to pay in order to access what you won? If yes, likely a scam. And lastly, if you're EVER unsure or confused about what's going on and it seems like you owe money or need to pay something over the phone, always immediately hang up and call the official support number for the business they claim to be. Example: if someone calls from your bank saying you overdrafted and owe fees, hang up and look up the real number for your bank. Call them to check the status of the account so you're able to verify if it's actually true. Hanging up will cost you nothing because you will always be able to call the official number back to fix the problem. If it's a real problem, and not a scam, then you will still be able to call and fix it.
They get gooder and better each years It only take one bad day when you're super tired and became unaware we've lost a month of rent 3 weeks ago It happened this exact way I was tired and didn't pay attention
Actually that was an important question from the scammer's perspective. I translate: 'Do I have to worry about anybody who may help you against me?' 'No.' 'Good.'
We need to scale this up. We need entire call centers dedicated to ruining these low life trash people. I seriously love what you are doing. You are a hero.

@@ssssss-wu1dg firstly, these centres are densely located not only in India, but in Pakistan, Afghanistan and other southe Asian countries. I like how even after it was revealed what you did, you never broke character. That's really smart because if he still believes you're an elderly woman named Vivian, then he'll likely think twice about preying on the elderly again. Where as if you revealed yourself to actually be a relatively young guy, then he might still prey on the elderly, thinking that REAL old people wouldn't be capable of doing what you did.
On the other hand, if he revealed himself, then the scammer would be afraid that any elderly sounding person he talks to is actually a young dude in disguise.
Did you get message on twitter from someone....for example when you follow a people who have a dog in profile or like animals, and some person with dog in profile sends a message...How are etc...later where do you live, how old are you, where you work etc.
I was in Walgreens the other week and the old lady in front of me was buying gift cards and was having difficulty. The cashier asked her if anyone asked her to buy them. She said no. The cashier and her manager spoke with her just to make sure. I'm glad their employees are starting to pick up on this stuff.
Last week I bought a $100 gift card in Walgreens for my sister. A stranger in line behind me asked me if someone had asked me to buy it to pay a bill. Nice of him, wasn't it, to be worried about me being victimized in a scam. Nice people in this world.
I was behind a woman at Walmart who was buying $1,000 in Steam cards. The cashier was politely asking questions...I flat asked her "You have never met this 'fiancée' you are sending these to, have you? You've only texted him, right?" She asked how I knew. I hate the way the scammer calls the perceived mark “Granny.” He does it with an edge of superiority. For that alone he deserves to lose all his files.
A lot of honest, Asian, retailers, use words like "Dear" and "Honey" when dealing with overseas clients. It may sound insincere, patronizing, or even insulting, to Westerners, but, in fact, they are using terms they would use amongst themselves. It is a generic term to them (e.g., children call any woman who takes care of them, "auntie," even if they aren't related, even for babysitters, etc.).
SKAIZUN, yeah but he's talking to an American now, trying to scam one. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." He's trying to earn her trust. Here, calling her Granny is condeacending, and even there, the term weakens a woman's power psychologically. So let him call her Granny, it's a dead giveaway, but here. It's offensive and insults a woman she he's trying to get her goodwill and her money. It's, to up to "her" to play on HIS playing field.
"I have a certain set of skills and you have no files left." 🤣🤣🤣 Amazing. Thank you so much for using your powers to protect more vulnerable people than yourself. That's a hero by definition.

It got so bad that he had to ask his youngest sister (My mother), whom he was already staying with, for money. And unfortunately, late last year, my Uncle committed s**cide. Likely due to a multitude of different stressful situations on his shoulders, including having lost almost all his money to a woman he'd never even met, and having had another stroke. He got up at 5:30 every morning to go to work. My mother a nurse who hurt her back catching a huge overweight man (not a patient just a visitor) who had fainted. To think of people heartless enough to take from elderly people makes me livid. This made me happy too.

You’d have to be dumb. These scammers only exist because stupid ppl fall for their dumb tricks.
@@juanluispulidomorales4318 What how did that happen?
@@hristobaiov6669 basically someone calls pretending to be a high ranking officer and says the phone number is suspected of being involved in crimes. Then they get the person to give them the info about their family and phone numbers. They have the kidnapped person go somewhere like a hotel or cyber cafe and then call the relatives telling them they have them kidnapped. And that is when they ask for money, to give back the peson even though they are just being held up by the phone call.
I'm 70 years old. I hope I never fall for one of these. You carry on, you young legends.
I did a project on spreading awareness for scam calls. Always happy to share tips to save people potentially from losing thousands.
Here are some good questions to ask yourself to decide if it's a scam;

A lot of honest, Asian, retailers, use words like "Dear" and "Honey" when dealing with overseas clients. It may sound insincere, patronizing, or even insulting, to Westerners, but, in fact, they are using terms they would use amongst themselves.

Scammers took around $300,000 from my late Uncle. He had just been kicked off his own property by his abusive and gold-digging wife, and he'd had multiple strokes, so he didn't always think clearly. The scammers posed as a woman on a dating website, and since he was vulnerable, kind-hearted, and kinda naive, whenever they asked him for money, he always gave it to them.
All of this while he still was receiving hateful and abusive texts and emails from his ex-wife, telling him to kill himself and that she hoped he'd have another stroke.

"BECAUSE I'M VIVIAN HELEN VERONICA ROGERS AND YOU DO NOT MESS WITH OLD PEOPLE!"

It would be cool if you could explain more of what you're doing on the computer
AMEN!!! ^_^
I thought he was gonna say, "Cause I'm Agatha Harkness, high witch of Chaos Magic!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know this is a very old video, but I just recently found the channel. First of all, I LOVE when you call them out so we get to hear the reaction. BTW, I'm a 60 YO grandma and I adore Bobby Flay... Those jeans absolutely fit him well.
I love how they call you sounding like they're tired of doing you a favor when they're stealing money from you
It's a part of their act
they learned from the best scammer in the world, churches!
They make up a story and get so angry like it actually happened. SIR HACKERS HAVE STOLEN YOUR MONEY. WE HAVE TO HELP YOU AT ALL COSTS W THE HELP OF TARGET GIFT CARDS
Just another example of the disrespect for their victim
And their Indian accent make everything better😂😂😂
The 4.8k dislikes are the scammers. Seriously amazing stuff, keep up the good work! Thank you for helping fight these evil, soulless people.
😁👍👏👏👏🇬🇧
Update 5k 🥰
What dko they do ?
Dislikes are not correct. I allways hit it by accident being so close. Im sure iam not the only one.
@@jobriath11 uhm.. you know that if you miss click, you can reclick again?
But it doesn't matter anymore anyway, since YT removed the dislike number. (which was a stupid idea imo)
I don't know HOW you're doing it or even WHAT you're doing, but just seeing you hit DELETE DELETE DELETE on all those files is somehow so satisfying.
Can someone explain how he’s doing it.? This is so great
@@ppo190 he flipped the connection so he could control the scammers pc and just deleted everything
@@BenCos2018 flipped the connection how? Doesn't the other person have to accept that?
@@fordrscosworth I thought so but he must have figured out some way to do it without needing to in those apps
Definitely interesting how he manages it though
@@BenCos2018 he tells the scammer that he has to accept too, and he was a novice and unsuspecting of the “old lady”
Wow, an "old" one!
I just found this channel a few weeks ago, and have been binge watching.
I thought the channel was new.
You guys are heroes!
He was so sorry at the end, that he didn't get to scam you(also has to tell his boss and 800 coworkers that a old lady hacked his computer and deleted his files).
It's perfect how you stayed in character even after he found out what was happening. Fear Vivian, psychic computer hacker.

It's awesome isn't it? I love the character and how spontaneously funny "she" is!

"Ohh, that's good!"

I just wanted to comment this 😂
And so creepy. Jeez
Sounds like something you'd hear from a potential home intruder or rapist.
I caught that too. Bastards.
I only hear in my head Mr. Burns saying his iconic "Excellent!".
Please, never stop doing this. I love your work. Wish you more success.
There should be an actual job dedicated to what this guy is doing
A TV channel more like it.
I want to know how to do this.

There used to be one, it was called "FBI agent." But they're too busy doing it to regular citizens...
I just love how he's casually doing granny chat while wreaking havoc on this guy's computer. Props for the multitasking.

Was thinking exactly the same... brilliant.. when I'm listening to this call centre guys voice I'd never get tired of slapping him about
You just gotta love a good versus evil scenario when the GOOD prevails. More of THAT! Whoot Whoot...
its actually good that people with this skill level are using them to destroy these scumbags
I just came by one of these videos, and now I'm on a binge. I'm so grateful there a group like yours that's doing this!

Such a satisfying feeling watching casually delete his files, while he is trying to scam you. Completely oblivious to what is actually going on, totally brilliant!
How does he do it without them noticing???
@@michaelcavett1907 They are connected to a virtual machine (its a fake pc hosted temporarily so that they can connect without it affecting his actual computer) and he can reverse the connection to control their computers.
They see the virtual computer that does not have much on it and he is using his actual computer to do stuff to them remotely.
So hes saying hes so sorry and he wont do it again but in the same breathe hes asking for his files back....to do it again.

@Laure Ndjeuga 😂😂😂
I'm glad there are people like you that do this to scammers.
My mom got scammed out of $8,000
These people need to be shut down.
I don't understand why our government doesn't do anything to stop this. I understand these scammers are in other countries, but I wish our elected officials cared enough to do something.
@@cayea4076 they are from India usually , and their government isn't very good at stopping people from doing anything..
Our government can't really do anything.
All we can do is educate our elder , maybe put up notes on the door , asking if the person they are talking to wants them to get gift cards or send cash that they are scammers to hang up.
@@lbpiercy Bro I am indian. Our govt is even worse. In my family, Almost everyone is scammed once at least if not more. :(
