technically the dunks are a version of these, the 480s came out in 1983, Air Jordan 1985 (which they look more like then dunks); I agree though that stylistically when we think of that shoe look it is a dunk though. I thought they have better impact the 1010s, feels thicker midsole. My only real complaint is the leather inside, it will be better when they release it with a softer material hopefully. Always thought the 1010s should of had the Abzorb insole instead of the ortholite
I didn’t know they came out first! I’m lacking on my shoe knowledge, back to the books! You know I compared the two again today and they are thicker than the 1010 so that info in my review is unfortunately wrong so I need to talk about that. The leather on the inside does take away from what I like in a shoe because it keeps your foot hot. I also feel like if these weren’t constructed as well as they are then the leather would cause your foot to slip so I’m so glad the make is as good as it is. If the 1010 has the Absorb insole it probably would be the best shoe in the game!

It’s crazy to see the OG of OGs. I’m glad that NB made these a little nod to what’s really up. I guess in the original Dunkman logo photo, these are the shoes Jordan was wearing. It’s nuts that Nike used that photo for the logo. Mind blown.

I just got the 480 black/gum all suede i love them so much i use the vans skateboarding insole because it is so soft and the suede version lasts very long ps. love ur vids🤙

I always highly recommend both Pecos and Big Tempe Skateparks. They are just a lot of fun to skate. I’m glad the ASICS are working out for ya too. I wish I got the japans because they are more up my alley way but the pairs I got were super solid so I’m hyped either way.

They’re a pigskin suede which NB uses a lot, it’s my favorite material, super soft and premium feeling. Closer to nubuck so you don’t get that hairy suede look

The 480s are a true size fit for sure. I haven’t had my foot in a pair of 550s in a while so it’s a little hard to gauge exactly how they fit compared to the 550 but the 480 is a little bit more cushiony and a tad bit more off of the ground then the 550. Hope this helps!

The Tiago 808 in all brown is one of my favorite looking all brown shoes in the skate shoe game honestly. I always wondered if they could pull that off with the 1010s.

To be honest with you this specific colorway is super hard to come by now. You may have some luck on New Balance’s site though. As far as the shoe itself definitely on New Balance’s site or some online skate shop’s sites. Most shops don’t physically have any sizes left because they’ve been flying off the shelves!

Hmmm that’s a great question. I ultimately think it’s not that important because skate shoes main functionality is for durability, impact protection, and board feel for you to feel more confident when trying tricks. If you’re just cruising around I say you should be fine without skate shoes but if you do like to do tricks here and there or if you’re just in the mood for a skate shoe, I say check some out! To me etnies, es, emerica and adidas all are true to size (9.5), and new balance runs a half size up at least in comparison with the maranas, og figgys, gazelles, swifts, etc to the 1010, 913, and 480s I have to wear a half size smaller (9) for the same fit as the maranas, etc@@JaySkateDay

I wish I still had the box. They are some form of grey color on the color code for these. NB doesn’t consider the colorway blue so try looking up 480s in grey
Unfortunately not. I would consider this a pretty standard fit for skate shoes. There’s some width in the toe area but not enough to mention as something that stands out from other shoes.
They are hella thick for me so outside of my trick selection they aren’t that bad. For me though I definitely think the thickest I should go is the NB 1010 because after that I have a hard time feeling my board.

SB Blazers are ver durable with plenty of boardfeel but lack impact protection.

Similar to the 440s, feels like a slimmer 1010. Honestly it’s a true size fit in length but slimmer than Tiago’s shoes.
For me nike sb blzer and adidas always 10, 440 and 508 9.5 so they do run a bit big imo

Nah, these are a true size fit for sure. A half size up or down may not work out.
Compared to Etnies half size bigger, if you wear the 1010s or any other NB then they run the same size
