Thank you. Yes, while hard in the moment now when we look back, it is a great memory.

First off, hats off to Andrew for riding that Schwinn on that kind of trail. Ive been there, done that with my old Schwinn back in the day on a trail that wasnt even close to the difficulty you guys rode on. "Hike a bike" Better off being safe and not breaking bones with a fall. You guys used good judgement on that ride. I myself, i get ticked off when a paved trail turns into crushed stone, I would never ride that trail you just did. You three are real troopers finishing that insane ride. You have RAGBRAI coming up, train smart. No injuries leading up to it! And who's idea was it to put Andrew on that dinosaur?! lol

Ha yeah after I tried the Schwinn I was impressed he made it. Worth hiking it for safety. I don’t think any of us realized how it would end up being, but had to finish for the views. Safety first for sure. We were thinking of Ragbrai and how we need to make sure we remain without injury. Lol Andrew wanted to join us and that was just the used bike we had left over. He has since bought a specialized gravel bike ha.

It’s gives me anxiety just going back and watching! So so hard

With RAGBRAI coming up, you all made me nervous, I was hoping no one would get hurt riding that kind of terrain. I hope you and Tyler fed Andrew well after that madness of a ride. That was painful just watching him pedal.

Haha yeah that was a strenuous ride! Plus at times scary on the downhill.

We did make a stop at the store on the way home 😂 Poor guy had food waiting in the crockpot for him not knowing we’d be gone that long! I also shared ALL of my snacks with him along the way. Yes, it is definitely painful to go back at watch 😩

Thank you for this video. We watched before riding at start of October. Rocky climb at 10:00 no longer exists. Grading was still at work on two different sections. Glad they let us through. Anyway, bummed to see you crash. We appreciate your humor and good attitude. Kudos for having decided to ride back on Coast. HW1 was super stressful. Unlike your video, ours is long winded and full of misinformation :D

Lovely gravel route. Hope to go back and ride it "clockwise."

You’re welcome. Hope it helped share some information and what the ride was like.
We had quite the time riding it. I watched your video and it looks so smooth now. Glad they improved it. I was happy the crash wasn’t too bad. Taught me a lesson on needing a chest mount for the go pro on steep sections. I only had one hand on my handle bars. 🤷‍♂️ I enjoyed watching yours and on the highway section to see the experience but looks stressful for sure.

I also have a specialized Vado. I don’t think I would take it as the suspension is more road tuned than it is for that stuff. My Specialized levo However, will be perfect for that ride.

100% agree. We didn’t think it was going to be quite as rocky as it was. Plus we didn’t have any other bike. We did actually see someone with a Levo out there and he was crushing it having a good time. Looked like a nice bike too.
