Congrats! Two things that I learned during my ultras. Fit new tires always two weeks ahead. Never let yourself pressure by other riders decisions, everyone needs to do what works for them and that is different for every rider. Pressure leads to stupid decisions and in ultras stupid decisions can end fatal.
You and Josh Reid have hands down the best bikepacking/ultra cycling channels on RUclips. The cinemitography and story telling is on another level! Congrats on the win!!
Man, filming this & making a real good story about it while suffering is alone next level! Chapeau to you! Definitely made my 90min zwift ride bearable 😂
Absolute gold. Strong ride that's for sure, but capturing that in the meantime is another thing. Edit as always top notch, never boring, not too long. You are my favorite RUclips bike related creator. No silly stuff, just pure riding, valuable info, class act. Keep it up!
Just waw. I saw the badlands vid and thought: “how is this even possible?” And now completing this longdistance and even winning it, hats off to you. You can be really really proud of yourself!
You make the most amazing videos Tristan! The places that race took you look absolutely incredible. I dream of doing similar although not as a race and probably not ultra distance (maybe over an extended period). The feeling of isolation and connectedness to life and nature one experiences out there is nectar to the soul.
So impressive to win a ride, while carrying all the gear and batteries to do the filming, and having the time, and the concentration spare to get the filming done.
that montage 30 mins in brought me back to a hike i did earlier in the year in Sweden and Norway, the views even thinking about them now bring me to tears they were so perfect. This video was such a perfect reminder of the trip i did of all that. Those views are absolutely stunning. A great reminder to all cyclists to stop and smell the roses. This is the gold standard for cycling youtube, i can tell the editing process for this would've been monumental. Chapeau Tristan!
Fantastic film mate! It looks like you put the same huge effort into the writing and editing as you put into the racing! A winner film just like your El Piri result.
What a brilliant watch Tristan. Thank you. You made me relive the whole thing. It seems you encountered the same issues as me, and often you even lunched at the same spots too... I remember how I was feeling at every shot of every random road you showed. Happy to make a few cameo's at the beginning as well, only to never see you again after that until the finish! Thank you for capturing this amazing event, in images as well as in words, and thanks again for the nice chat we had after we all finished... I might do it again next year, will you?
Now this is content!! Well done Tristan, stellar exploration of the extraordinary things our brains can force our bodies to do. Outstanding. Now…..fitting brand new tyres the night before an 800km ride…..maaaate
Big congrats Tristan! The event itself, the distance + the elevation; bonkers to finish that. And you have the energy to make videos, express your thoughts in such a calm way. Let me tell you that: you‘re the purest inspiration for me. Thank you so much for what you‘re doing. Now is the right time to realize for yourself what you have achieved there. Amazing.
What an awesome effort, Chapeaux! I love your videos you manage to totally capture the beauty of the landscape as well as the body ripping effort required! Keep them coming!
What an unbelievable race ! Ultra races are out of this world to me haha you rode like a god. Congrats 🎉🎉 And being able to document it like you’ve done, amazing achievement ! That’s an extra effort, but worth it when you see the end result 😊
Major kudos and congratulations. There’s epic and then there’s EPIC!! I’m sure most of us will never be able to understand just how tough that was. Amazing 👏👏👏
Congratulations Tristan, what an unbelievable effort, stunning ride and a well deserved result. It was a privilege to be able to share in this via this film, when I’m sure it would have been far easier to just concentrate on riding. Real inspiring stuff - thank you. I guess with parents like yours, you were always destined to achieve right?!
Thanks so much mate. You’re right about that..there are so many moments where I battle between wanting to ride and wanting (or knowing I need) to film. It’s nice to have found a balance between the two for this one. Really appreciate your support. 🙏🏼
Lovely video! Congratulations on a simply amazing ride! How you managedvthevtime and energy to film so much is beyond me! I'm curious what pump you used.
Congrats! So what happened to the guy who was ahead? A gear video would be great, I have zero interest in doing the route in one go, but it could be amazing as a bike packing adventure, so curious about your equipment, tyres, lights, how you charge stuff, what you ate and all that. The scenery truly looks stunning.
Thanks man..very happy to have finally got the W and the video in one go. It *can* be a beginner ultra, if ridden at a chilled pace over 5-6 days, but attacking it like the front 5 did was a recipe for pain..🥲 I wouldn’t change my strategy though…I love some suffering.
Thanks man. It’s the Salomon Sense 5 running vest, from memory. My next video will be a full gear breakdown from the event so I’ll cover it in that for sure.
Thank you. 🙏🏼 I use a Supernova M99 B54 which is battery operated. The battery is the big triangular block mounted to my stem. I’m making a gear run through video for my next episode coming out next week, where I’ll talk about it in more detail.
Congratulations on a amazing ride and a great film. It's brilliant for us to live your experience of El Piri. What spirit! 🎉🙌
Thanks for putting on such a great event. Equal parts challenging and rewarding. Looking forward to my time being smashed in 2025! 😅
Congrats! Two things that I learned during my ultras. Fit new tires always two weeks ahead. Great job, Tristan.. 🖖🏼
Another absolute masterpiece of cycling documentary ! Congrats dude ! Deserve way more visibility on this platform !
Thanks so much man. It’s growing slowly but steadily. 🙏🏼
Simply outstanding, inspirational stuff. Never wanted to like a video more than once as much as this one.
Thanks so much Mike..so glad you enjoyed it so much. 🙌🏼
Man, filming this & making a real good story about it while suffering is alone next level! Chapeau to you!
Definitely made my 90min zwift ride bearable 😂
Dear Tristan,you ride,you film brilliantly
you constantly have to inflate your tyres and you win this race!
So inspiring
Chapeau mate!
Thank you my friend 🙏🏼
Again a top quality video taking us along the whole ride; absolutely top performance and savage trip. You are my idol ! 💪🏻👍🤛🏻

Man, far out. Unbelievable effort. Inspiring AF. Would watch again.
Nicely Done 👍🏿. Awesome to also see your Mom and Dad. That’s Gold Star memories.
Unbelievable effort and fabulous victory Tristan! Beautifully documented and what scenery to test your resilience. Chapeau young man. 💪👏👍😊
Fantastic film mate! It looks like you put the same huge effort into the writing and editing as you put into the racing! A winner film just like your El Piri result.
Thanks so much mate. It was a true journey in every sense of the word. 🙏🏼
Dude, that's an awesome video-astonishing views, epic ride-and the quality of the filming despite suffering is another level.. chapeau

Wow! First place and you've manage to film it? Outstanding! Bravo!
Thank again for a great video! The cinematography and storytelling were great! You’re among the best cycling RUclipsrs out there 👍🏼🙂
Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Btw, @@tristantakevideo Will you make video about the fueling and gear etc?
Yep! That’s the next one, coming next week. Less about the fueling but all about the gear. 👌🏼
What an awesome effort, Chapeaux! I love your videos you manage to totally capture the beauty of the landscape as well as the body ripping effort required! Keep them coming!
Congrats for the achievement, what a ride 🎉, greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹 😊
Great work, congratulations. It's was hard but you conquer, that's the beauty of challenge.
Superb edit ❤ And AWESOME EFFORT DUDE. Well bloody done you.🎉
Epic mate, props to you being able to film this while pushing yourself so far.
Just brilliant Tristan, very inspirational. Rest well.
Congratulations Tristan, epic ride and video 👍👍👍🚲🚲🚲
Congratulation to your first place. And thank you for this nice video.
Congrats Tristan 💪 Hope to see more of those inspiring movies in the future!
Congratulations and hats off for the ride. And also for the content of the race - great one.
congrats on the effort and the fantastic film creation. You were super patient with those tyres!
Truly incredible accomplishment, and awesome video edit 🙌🏻
What an unbelievable race ! Ultra races are out of this world to me haha you rode like a god. Congrats 🎉🎉

Thanks mate! 🙌🏼🫶🏼
Outstanding mate, really well done on both the victory, but the production of the video, just first class stuff.
Much enjoyed watching! 👍🏻
Thanks Nathan! 🙏🏼
Major kudos and congratulations. There’s epic and then there’s EPIC!! I’m sure most of us will never be able to understand just how tough that was. Amazing 👏👏👏
Congratulations and a very nice warm welcome from your parents.🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks Tristan. Congrats!! Well done!!
What an effort and a really nice video! Pure inspiration! I really like your storytelling
Excellent video. I’m inspired to try something like this now!🙌

Been waiting for this video and it was well worth it . Yet again an amazing film and an incredible performance. Very well done. 👍
Wow. What an effort. Chapeau 🎉
You literally make it sound tempting to do 😂
Awesome adventure, thanks for sharing!
Really well done. Thanks for the super content.
Amazing journey. Congratulations 🔥🔥
Congratulations Tristan! Amazing performance and a really great detailed video
Congratulations! You managed to film yourself and win an ultra 😎👊🏻
EPIC! Congrats.
Amazing effort!! Congrats 💪
best ultra film ive seen in a long time
epic stuff - well done - that bloody tyre :)
Wow ! Congrats Tristan !

Congrats amigo, awesome effort! BTW your parents are true explorers, what leyends! Saludos from CDMX
Outstanding ✊
Love it!
¡Increíble aventura, bellos paisajes, mucha fortaleza de cuerpo y mente, muchas felicidades!!
Congrats man! I Those Pirelli tyres are awesome and the grip is impressive, but mine took some time to seal properly also.
Great intro. I panicked for a minute and went searching for ep1.
Bonza mate 💪
I am hyped 💪
argh, that slow tyre leak would've been the final straw for me I fear!
Lovely video! Congratulations on a simply amazing ride! How you managedvthevtime and energy to film so much is beyond me! I'm curious what pump you used.
Chapeau 👏

Must feel good to have cracked it.
Look forward to what is next.
So here is the question....... Is it really a beginners ultra?
Thanks man..very happy to have finally got the W and the video in one go. It *can* be a beginner ultra, if ridden at a chilled pace over 5-6 days, but attacking it like the front 5 did was a recipe for pain..🥲 I wouldn’t change my strategy though…I love some suffering.
This was fantastic. Subscribed! Curious... what is the triangular brick mounted on your stem? Light / charger?
Thanks mate 🙌🏼 That’s the Supernova battery for my headlight.
Congratulations. Would you also recommend the Pirelli Cinturato M for Badlands too or would you recommend a different tire?
Power hills 😅😊
Nice man! Just one question: Which backpack / ultra-running-west are you using? Regards!
Thanks man. It’s the Salomon Sense 5 running vest, from memory. My next video will be a full gear breakdown from the event so I’ll cover it in that for sure.
Great race and video. I’m curious what light you used. Was it battery driven or dynamo?
Thank you. 🙏🏼 I use a Supernova M99 B54 which is battery operated. The battery is the big triangular block mounted to my stem. I’m making a gear run through video for my next episode coming out next week, where I’ll talk about it in more detail.
Looks torturous Tristan. Back next year? 😂
Haha I might give it a year off…😅
so what’s up with the tires?
you scared of removing your valve core, been there! I've replaced all my valves with fillmore valves, no more cores
Do you feel 100yrs older 😮
Run into Jack Thompson?
He covered 900k’s in the first day and was back in Girona for lunch..
@@tristantakevideo Sounds about right 👍😆
Why do races have to be that extreme? 😢
actually i am more impressed with ur parents... but ur also not doing that bad 😜
Let’s gooo 😊 ( pls can i have something for free )
