I can't tell you how excited I am for this. Finally today I am collecting my brand new pair of bespoke shoes from Gaziano & Girling. After months of work, they are finally ready to collect, from their flagship store on Savile Row in London. Those of you who have followed along with remember that last year we filmed Tony Gaziano taking my bespoke measurements to carve my bespoke last. Then we came back for a first fitting with a trial pair of shoes, which he cut up to reveal the adjustments he would make. There was a 2nd fitting stage after this, which again resulted in further tweaks to the last and pattern, before finally crafting the final pair.
These shoes, based off Gaziano & Girling's model St James II, are simply fantastic. With an incredible fit, and a unique patina that has real dimensionality to it, I couldn't be more happy with the finished product.

I couldn't imagine ever spending $6500 on a pair of shoes... but seeing these was about as close to convinced as I'll ever be. The work was truly stunning.

if I could afford it, I would buy that shoe tomorrow...for one should either be a work of art or wear a work of art, so the next best thing is just wear great shoes
Honestly. I’m so sold. I will do this within the next few years for sure, such an incredible process and their probably comfortable as all hell.
My car didn't cost that much. I feel deflated.
I hear you. Bespoke and the well-crafted are certainly a front-end investment. But if you think about wearing these shoes 3 times a week, for 10 years, the cost per wear is several dollars. But still, a lot of money. There are shoe makers who could probably make bespoke for less.
I don’t think I’ll ever own a pair of $6,500 bespoke shoes but I never thought I’d ever own a $1,600 pair of John Lobb’s either and I bought myself a pair last month. So you never know..I know that watching Mr. Allison’s channel has blessed my taste and wardrobe but it’s been a curse on my wallet. Lol Thanks for the great videos.
This one is a once in a lifetime experience. If people got money then they must try these bespoke shoes out.

I love Kirby’s unshakable enthusiasm in England, despite often being met by drab sullen responses from monotone British makers. As a Brit, I enjoy it as a study of the relative cultures ha ha
The misery of living in this collapsing country takes its toll, even on the well-off seeming.
It is just the flood of compliments that are a little hard to respond to. Kirby is not a great interviewer. But he can learn.

I have never been interested in bestoke shoes or anything like that. But damn if I didn't just spend 2 and a 1/2 hours watching you Get a pair of shoes created for perfect fit.
Last spring at their trunk show in DC, Dean took my measurements for my first pair ever of bespoke shoes. I just had my first trial fitting last month in Atlanta and the fact that there were no adjustments needed to the lasts--carved/shaped by Tony--goes to show just how incredible they have become over the years. Simon was really delighted to see how well the trial pair fit and I can't wait to drop by the shop this summer wearing them.
Are they comfortable?
@@creamfalcon like nothing i've ever had on my feet before. and that's just going off the trial pair. for full transparency it's my first bespoke footwear commission, but oh MAN they are just perfect closeness to the foot all around. Not constrictive, just sort of a nice leather hug.

Found your channel by accident and have been watching for the last 4 hours, i find it all really interesting. Thanks you have opened my mind to a whole new world of bespoke shoes!
As a maker, I have very much enjoyed seeing the process of seeing these shoes come into being, but more than anything I'd have loved to be in the back room seeing these beauties get put together. I know everyone has their secrets, but The Process and seeing the techniques these masters employ is what I find most interesting. Also, seeing how they make that patina would have been awesome!

The depth of colour on those shoes in simply amazing, and gorgeous.
I can't keep my eyes off those "Callaway" style boots. The light brown calfskin and light brown suede looks amazing. I didn't think I'd want that particular style and combination .....but now I do.

Beautiful shoes… but my LORD….$6500? To walk on the street and sidewalks, or scratchy tile at some hotel? I’d truly be afraid to wear these ANYWHERE. And I’ve paid $1000, 2000 plus for shoes. I’d need SEVERAL raises to buy these! 🤣 But so darn beautiful they are.

These are so beautiful that there is no way I would ever wear them. I would be scared of scuffing them. lol.
I'm astonished how much the detail is in made to measure shoes! I'm talking about the last by no means least the laces, Jesus H Christ. When Kirby gets his laces tied for him, it reminds me of that Columbo episode when the murderer gets identified because he tied his victims change of shoes laces, they were the opposite way to the victim would have tied them. OH, just one more thing........

I started watching this as a lark, and felt a bit smug. But now I see Mr. Allison turned out in a modern version of one of those amazing suits from the 1940s, and about to step into a very beautiful pair of shoes. I understand now. Sure, I'd rather see beautiful leather work like that in my antique pickup truck, but each to his own. 😂

really beautiful shoes. easily my favourite bespoke pair of yours - an eye-watering price (as they all are I suppose) but I think it shows in those. I'm just going to have to go to more charity shops next time in London hoping a previous customer has died!

The majority of my tailored wardrobe is all bespoke; however I doubt I'd ever go the bespoke route in shoes. Mainly because I'm a fairly standard and easy fit in shoes. Sure, some brands and lasts fit me better than others but I've never really had a challenge with shoes. I do appreciate high quality shoes but I'll just continue to go with ready made. These shoes in the video are absolutely beautiful though. Like wearable art.
